I'd like to build a simple flash menu that tracks the clicks and counts them up (counter) to a database using asp... I've googled quite a bit but I'm unable to find anything.

What I want to do is create some kind of counter or tracker that keeps track of how many times each product was clicked on. I would prefer an external file to be generated and updated per new click. At the moment it will do everything perfectly except when it is 1 when I click on it nothing changes.
i have 12 buttons, and i wish to raise counter number for 1 when i click on it. When i click on the same button second time i dont want to count. Then when i click on another button i want to raise the counter number for one. But the problem is when i click back again on the first button the first number shows, but i want that the counter counts to 12 successively, and not when i click on the same buton shows its "count" number. here is my code for 2 butons:

i have a movieclip file named "mainPage". mainPage contains 6 buttons (with a cyrstal design) but lets focus only on 1 button. The 1st button contains the name Art_btn which calls the movieclip artBook when the button is clicked (which is my problem) . I have another movieclip named "artBook". the contents in my artBook are separated or written on each frames that could be called when clicked next or prev.
here is my prob. i dont know what is the right code that would call for artBook when Art_btn is clicked.i tried inserting codes such as loadMovie, gotoAndPlay and addChild but when I test it, the mainPage contents doesnt show up and it produces errors.

In my game I would like it so once I have died you can click the 'Main Menu' button and it will take you back to the main menu and clear everything else which had been going on.
But at the moment as seen in the flash file attatched once you have died in the game a child form appears with two buttons on it 'Play Again' and 'Main Menu'. On clicking the 'Main Menu' button as you can see it takes you to the main menu but all the stuff from the previous frame are still there in the background.

View 9 RepliesI am using flash 8 and actionscript 2.0 to build this application. I am trying to compile a page hit counter that is only activated when the timeline hits a certain position. I thought I had it with the following script. But the count would randomly get reset back to zero.

With this attempt I used the "loadVaribales" method to communicate with the PHP and TEXT files. Here is the code in the first frame of the timeline:

It works awesome for a few weeks then the count gets reset to zero. Why the contents of the text file are randomly getting deleted.
Can I have a counter in flash? I don't know if it's possible in ActionScript. What about a Javascript version?

secondsToEnd = 260;
the timer will be working until it gets to zero, then the movie clip will go to frame number 2.after a refresh of the page, the "banner" will check again for a new xml variable. creating the counter (after receiving the variable secondsToEnd) till it gets to zero.
The old way to allow audio to be played/streamed in the browser was a flash button, such as that seen on [URL]. What's the new iPhone-friendly way to give the ability to click on a simple button to listen to an audio file in the browser? If the answer is HTML5, is the such a button built and available? I don't need an MP3 player with steaming and such, only a button.

I've looked all over the web and everyone can teach you how to make a timer for your game or a countdown, but I can't seem to find out how to add time to an already counting timer. So here is my counter class:

That works without any issues or problems and just keeps counting upwards at a speed of 100ms, what I want to know is how to add say 30 seconds if something happens in my game, say you kill an enemy for example.
