ActionScript 2.0 :: Flash Movie That Attaches A .as Defined MovieClip In The First Frame Of The Timeline? ?

I have a Flash movie that attaches a .as defined MovieClip in the first frame of the timeline.In my MovieClip class, I attach a background image movie and a couple of buttons and whatnot - basically building a screen.If the user clicks a certain button on the screen (the button is defined entirely in actionscript and isn't on the flash stage at all), then I want to pop up a Window component.In my class file, I define _win:Window; but do not instanciate it initially.I defined the button's onPress event inside a load listener - this is that definition.
I've finally made the leap in to AS3 - it seems much nicer and easier than any of its predecessors but I'm still getting stuck on the odd thing.This is something I haven't been able to resolve with Google:
I have a movieclip with an instance name "myMC". On the first frame inside myMC I have another movieclip called "point". On the second frame inside myMC I have a movieclip with instance name "smallBox".This works:
myMC.point.transform.colorTransform = c;
This does not: myMC.smallBox.transform.colorTransform = c;
Do I need to do something to indicate I'm working on frame 2?
I simply want to assign a variable to the current frame of the main timeline (not movieclip timeline) I already know about _currentframe and it doesn't help in this case.
I am in the learning process. Working with FlashCS5 and AS3. if the issue appears to be too simple for you. Placed a movieclip(mcassessJohn) on the main timeline and moved to the frame labelled "johnFeedback" in the movieclip timeline using the following actionscript code.
I work on a truckload of flash banners and have progressed more into dispatching events from the final frame of a MovieClip that would contain an object (or collection of closely related objects) animating and then listening for them from the parent timeline so that I know when to continue the main animation etc.In the animation I'm working on currently, there's a car built from blocks over time (the blocks fall from the top of the banner to make up the car); this is all contained within one MovieClip (to make the resizing easier - all I'll have to do is move the entire MovieClip around).The problem is that when I place this MovieClip onto the timeline, it's represented by its first frame (which is nothing because no blocks have fallen yet). This makes it hard to work with because I can't really tell exactly where the car is going to be when the animation is done and so on.Is there a way to have the final frame of this MovieClip visible from the outer timeline?
I was wondering if someone can help me. I have some difficulties playing a certain frame in another MovieClip. I have two MovieClips, MovieClip(content) and MovieClip(about_page). The about me button is placed in MovieClip(content) and I used the following code to go and play MovieClip(about_page) that is placed in the timeline:
i'd like to control MovieClip timeline witch contain several DisplayObject (like Sprite, Button, ...) these DisplayObject have Motion (AnimatorFactory). How can i do seek frame-by-frame the MovieClip Timeline and use the currentFrame to control all Motion child.

How do I link a button thats embedded in frame 2 (music page timeline) to a frame in the main timeline ( frame 3= biography page)? Both pages are on the same scene with link buttons embedded in each page independent timeline.
In Flash Actionscript 3, if a function is defined in Frame 1 of a flash animation and the animation loops, does it store another version of the function in memory upon each loop.

If so, is it a best practice to check to see if it's the first time the frame has been run, by setting a variable and checking it's existence, or is it a non-issue because the compiler checks to make sure that a function has not already been defined?

I have this code on the middle frame of a movieclip in my main timeline. When the nav buttons are pressed they play an animation and report their names to a variable called "navigation" that's declared in the first frame of the main timeline.
I have an animation of a dog running across the stage and a movieclip called "legs" which is the legs moving. I want to loop the dogs legs for a certain amount of frames and then make it stop on a certain frame within that same nested "legs" movie clip.how to do this and where the actionscript should go?

I have 6 frames on the main timeline each with a different movieclip. Is it possible that when one movie clips finishes running it will go to he next frame on the maintime line and run the next movieclip on the next frame with AS3?

I have several website pages set up on different frames inside the content (which is a movieclip) of the home page - which is on frame 1 of the main timeline. The content movieclip name is contentMc.
My About page is at frame 10. There is a button on this page (called btnAbout_contactpg) that I want to make jump to my Contact page (frame 50) - all of which is nested under the main contentMc movieclip.

now how do i make the movie clip to first go from frame 1 to 10( last frame in teh movieclip) with the text time and then when the movie clip starts again it should say place and so on and so forth.. depending on how many textline variables i define in the text file?
I have a movieClip sitting on the first frame of my main timeline. When it gets to the last fram of the movieClip, I want it to go and play frame 2 of the main timeline. I have this code on the last frame of my movieClip:

It actually doesn't throw it just once, it keeps throwing it as long as my preview window is open. As if it just keeps hitting that frame repeatedly. Am I doing this correctly? Or is there a better way to do it in AS3?

First I have a frame with a movieclip, where my entire page is within.Inside of that is where all of my pages is in different frames, and in each of these frames there are other movieclips with content. I have a menu with 4 movieclip buttons (movieclips that act as buttons) that when pressed make the timeline jump to a certain frame. The mc buttons have both "onrollover" and "selected" states. However the timeline also moves on its own, even if no button is pressed.
I need the buttons to assume the "selected" state when the timeline reaches a specific frame (as if the button had been pressed to make the timeline jump there). But I can't figure out how to do it althought I think it must be quite simple.
