Is it possible to have live webcam in flash? Is there a tutorial out there I can check out? All I want to do is have a viewer look at my site and click on a button to view a live webcam. I know when you right click you can set the settings for webcam and mic. PLease help.
I want my site's users to be able to record videos straight from their webcams into my site. Videowhisper is one such tool which seems to work fine - [URL] But I'm looking for opinions on better / more scalable / reliable solutions. Paid solutions are fine.

I have to install a multi-webcam setup that will be live streamed and accessible via a web browser.I'm looking into the quickest and most efficient solution, the less time and hassle it takes to implement, the better. That means buying hardware and/or software is not that much of an issue (as long as it's not 1000$+ flash server software).
The requirements / basic setup:The web server will be directly connected the cams (via ethernet / WiFi).The stream should be viewable by the max possible audience so no ActiveX / VLC-style object embedding. Flash would be ideal (even if it's a paid solution).Bandwidth is not an issue, max 2-3 clients at a time, most of the time only one.
My organization normally provides customer support over e-mail and over the phone, but in particularly tricky situations we find we need to have an approximation of face-to-face communication. We're trying to find or build a software solution that we can integrate into our site. Our requirements are that:
We have a Red5 Server that we use to host a video chat. We are looking for a way to overlay SWF files over the top of a live stream video. For example, we could overlay an SWF animation of snow falling in front of a live stream from a webcam.
I have been working on a Flex application that sends a feed from my webcam to the Flash Media server. The application connects to the server fine but for some reason the camera is not sending anything to the Media Server. I am pretty sure that the answer to my question is really simple but I need another set of eyes to llok at my code and tell me what I am doing wrong.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but here goes. I'm looking to stream a live webcam on my website and have no idea where to start. I've been searching for a while and various things refer to Flash Media Server but this is costly and, as I will be streaming from University, it will probably be blocked on the network or take up too much bandwidth.
Does anyone know of a way to stream a webcam, without FMS or Quicktime Broadcaster etc.? Any free websites that provide this service could be possible, so long as the stream isn't available to anyone outside my website.
I have implemented an application for webcam broadcasting and receiving. I have tested the application using a developer version of flash media server. Thus its working finely. Also i am recording the stream and storing it in the application folder. The recording feature is implemented with the broadcaster. Every thing works finely while i checked locally.
Now the client installed media server and I tried to set every thing in the server. I placed all the files in the server and created a directory with the name "live_test" in the applications folder inside the Flash Media Server folder. Then I run the application. Thus the status is showing as NetConnection.Connect.Failed.
I want to make a live webcam or audio broadcast for a user(not a chat or conference). For example a user will broadcast live and people can be able to wacth it when open that user's page. But what is the meaning of 10 users limitation of FMS? If I open a live webcam, Does it says max 10 users can be watch it?
I am trying to broadcast live video using a webcam. I am using the developer version of FMS3.0. Actually i have a working code of webcam broadcasting, which i used before. But now i am using a free version of FMS3.0. When i tried to connect, the following error is showing:
I've made a flash file with actionscript 2.0 and I'm trying to load images from a live webcam on the internet. I've made 3 frames: frame 1 contains this code:
[Code]...
In the first frame i is a code for the frame i'm trying to load... it goes sort of random, i haven't quite found a formula by which it loads images... and find the next image. For exampel the current image is : 1276353066859 , the next one (as fast as i could right click the webcam image in the browser then Copy image adress ) is kinda like 1276353068859, 1276353127259, 1276353124265 so not necessarily a logical order that i've found yet ) Anyways...my problem is another... i've put those traces in the actionscript because after loading the first image, it stops... the output is like this:
where to start looking if I want to try and broadcast a live webcam on a webpage client to server to browser?
I want to be able broadcast a live webcam from a machine in location x to a remote server at location y and for the server at location y to display it on a webpage.
I have posted on here before as acidman but can't remember my password!
I have Windows 7, 64bit and Flash V 10,1,102,64My problem is with watching a Ustream live webcam on an Eagle nest in Maine, USA,Whilst I can watch it, the streaming keeps on and on buffering, or just stopping and starting. I don't lose the picture but it plays and freezes and then plays and freezes every few seconds. It's off more than it's on.Is there something wrong with my version of Flash, my video card, my computer? I've tried it with Internet Explorer 8, Firefox and Google Chrome and still have the same issue
I have installed flash media server, flash cs5, media live encoder to be able to view my webcam feed via my website. Now in addition to these, i started streaming to localhost, and installed a dns updater which updates a name server according to my current ip. Then i wrote this dns address in the feed's source from flash 5 as rtmp://thednsname.somedns.net/live/livestream
so far so good, i also forwarded the ports 1935 incoming and outgoing from modem to my computer as well (because 1935 is said to be the default port number for media server). firewall -> closed (just in case); and my internet provider doesn't block ports...started the media server (with admin privilage in 7), started the live encoder, connect to localhost, start live feed.
NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound : Adobe Flash tried to play a live or recorded stream that does not exist. Source can't be found.
Got round to the point where screen grabbing an image and saving it to file is too much, so what i want to do now, is take a snapshot of a live webcam image (I have webcam display working) and display the snapshot/screen grab, next to it or anywhere in the movie. This way the screen capture can be stored temporarily in the movie. once the movie is closed, all info is lost. Once another screen grab is taken, then the previous one is overwritten. The idea is simple but having problems working out how to do it in AS3!
I have got to the idea that i may need to use the Bitmap API to copy a section of the movie, and then redraw it into a new bitmap object?
How would I go about adding chat to FMSS during live webcam broadcasts? I will be using FMSS to broadcast webcam.Obviously it is an outgoing stream only as I am told to do cam to cam I need FMIS and at present I do not need cam to cam and I can not afford FMIS.I want the viewers of the webcam broadcast to have a chat window where they can send comments to the person on the webcam and the person on the webcam can type back if they want to.I have glazed over some posts here and saw that it can be done in Flash, I want to know if I can do it with FMSS. It does not need to be elaborate.
2 x Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU L5410 @ 2.33GHz 16Gb RAM 2 Gbit ethernet channel OS - Linux CentOS 5.5 x86_64 FMS4 Interactive
Live stream parameters:
320Ń…240 qua_=87 bw_=200000 kf_=5 fps_=18
So, after approximately 600 connections to one stream video becomes choppy (periodically freeze, slow motions). CPU-usage at this time is 100-120% (maximum is 800%, 100% per each core), network usage is 500 Mbit/sec.But second live stream(with few connections) at this server looks fine simultaneously with 600 connections at first stream.Experiments with recommendation in "Configuring performance features" documentation chapter(enabling/disabling aggregate messages and configure the size of stream chunks) do not help.
how to publish live video feed from webcam in h.264 format non VP6 format with FMS 3.5.2 without using Flash Media Live Encoder, and how to set all parametersto have a good quality and smooth video without interruption, i have a server with 50Mbit bandwidth output enough for a publisher and 10 clients meunderstand this thing's been months since I try but the quality ugly
No I have installed fms4.5, but I can't find good docs how to set something like this up. In Learning section I saw a lesson, but this one isn't ready. So I want to publish using flash and the subscribers to the livestream can be iPhones or Browsers.
I'm noticing a 13-16 second delay with live streams to iOS devices. Is there any way to improve this delay time by modifying the Event.xml parameters or the Apache hlshttp_module parameters in httpd.conf?
I don't have my own Flash Media Server. I can however use the Highwinds CDN. They run FMS on their CDN. When you schedule a live event, Highwinds gives you two urls: the "server" and "stream name". Examples:
That is the entire code for my program and when it runs, nothing happens. I know the program has access to the laptop's webcam because it can trace the name and a similar program I wrote works with the same webcam. This program doesn't even ask for permission to access the webcam so I'm rather confused.
I've been trying to access my webcam on my macbook pro using flash cs4 in an attempt to try and use the live feed to detect levels of motion and from there use that information to alter / animate an image on the screen (idea being more movement = more change in image), however I cant seem to get my webcam to even stream out and play on a flash file.
The code I am using is: start code var camera; var video; camera = Camera.getCamera(); video = new Video(camera.width * 2, camera.height * 20); video.attachCamera(camera); addChild(video); end code
And when I run the file it asks for me to grant access to webcam / microphones (which is what it should do) but it doesnt stream to the file.
I need to take a picture from a webcam into a webapp (PHP5/JQuery/HTML5) but I cannot use Flash; Is there a light java applet or any alternative technology for this?.
