ActionScript 2.0 :: How To Get Movie To Play Only Its Own Sound

I am having a problem with playing sound in flash, actually I have a main file say (a.swf) and in it a sound is playing, then when another movie is loaded by LoadMovie say b.swf (which also has its own sound) both the sounds play. And when I stop the sound in the main file and load the movie again the sound does not play. I want the main movie to play its own sound and when I load another movie inside the main movie then I want to play the loaded movie's sound and when I close the loaded movie then the sound of the main file to be played. My Logic : Will onClipevent (load) { } and onClipEvent (unload) { } work on this ???? when I load another movie on empty movie clip ..

I am trying to use a sound controller in a flash movie to play music and I am using loadMovieNum to load the sound controller movie at a particular point in the main timeline. I get the sound player to load up fine and the sound loads fine when a user presses play, but about a minute through the song the sound starts to play again, overlapping the song that is already playing.
This happens with no user interaction...it just takes about a minute. I also noticed that it is only when the sound player is within one of the movies. It doesnt happen when the sound player is all by itself. Is there something in my movie that is making it loop over?

I have an mp3 exported for actionscript with the linkage name bgmusic.When I play the sound using a sound object, it works fine.However, I take that same .swf and load it into another movie and the thing breaks... the sound doesn't play.How do I fix the linkage so that it'll play again?

I have created a SWF file that plays/stops sound. The SWF file works great when previewed in Flash CS4, but does not work when inserted in the HTML file.Here are the 2 files that are automatically generated when I INSERT>MEDIA>SWF in Dreamweaver CS4:

It's possible to play a sound file through AS, either by loading it from a folder or import it to flash. It's also possible to play a dynamic tone with flash.media.Sound + writeFloat.
But... is it possible to play a sound file with flash.media.Sound + writeFloat in some way? I want to play a sound file without having to deal with any files except the .swf!

I'm trying to add sound to some buttons. It's just a little metallic 'klink' sound that plays on rollover. I only want the sound to play on the 'Over' state. So I've set up a layer (just for sound) for the button and I add my sound in the 2nd frame (the Over state). Everything is cool. All is good. And the sound plays on rollover. But the sound also plays when I click the button (i.e. it also plays on the "Down" state). Why? The Down state keyframe is completely empty. What's going on here? I've only put the sound in the "Over" keyframe, why does it also play in the "Down" frame (or when I click)?

I want to use a sound loop in my flash movie. The movie has many scenes. And the problem is that when I go to next scene or different scene I hear the sound repeating twice. I mean sound does not stop from first scene and begins from the different scenes.Is there any way to play sound like "stop all sound" option in Flash.

I use Flash MX 6.0
1) I have a button and when I put cursor over it, it must start looping a sound. When I drag away, the sound must stop. I would be even cooler if it was possible to make the sound fade away when the mouse is rolled away. I have no problem creating another sound file that fades my current sound away.
2) I have a button which represents a knife, that should stab something (a panel) once pressed. So fist the knife must be clean. but after one or more presses, the blood should remain as a movie clip (as I want to animate the dripping blood)
3) once rolled over a button, the sound must start looping (as I wrote in 1.) AND the knife should slowly go backwards (MC). BUT when I roll mouse away, the sound fades away (as in 1. again) PLUS the knife should slowly move back to its place in stead of just jump from one place to another.

I want a movie clip (let's call it homecontent_MC) with 100 frames play to frame 80 and stop.Then when someone clicks a button on the navigation bar (home, about, services, contact, etc...) homecontent_MC would then begin playing from it's position (frame 80) til it reaches 100, at which point it wouldn't be on screen, and the movie clip that corresponds to the navigation button press (say services_MC...) would start from frame 1 and continue til it stops at it's frame 80...

I have five different scenes all including three different buttons. When I test the buttons in "play scene" - all buttons sounds correctly in all scenes. But when I play movie, there is sound only with one button (the same button in every scene). I have looked for differences, but this button seem to have all the same parameters as the others.

I've got 3 swf files and they are all nested. Here's the structure: [code]The sound clip "m1p1" is loaded in the library of "cc_mod1_shell.swf".This setup works when I just test "cc_mod1_shell.swf". I can hear the sound clip. But, when I test the root level "cc_ shell. swf", the sound does not play. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Why would this._ parent work when I'm just using the 2 files in question, and not when they are nested in another file?.

How do you get sound to play?
I am importing the sound and exporting in with an identifier "sjump".
I am trying to play the sound from a seperate .as file with the following code:

Why won't it play?!
Some of my sounds like if I attach "coin" instead of "sjump" work? Why is this?

trying to make a play/pause toggle button in AS3. I'm a newbie but I've finished the site except for this element. my audio file works when i import to the library and it plays it in the preview. its in the same folder as the fla. working in cs3. This is what i've done.new as3 file. code.

I'm working on a game that loops a random sound file everytime the user goes to the menu. When I tried the simulate download in the preview menu, it took a long time to load the first frame (which is a preloader). I found the problem was that in the linkage for the sound files I said "Export on first frame" so i unchecked that box, but then when I tried playing again, the sound wouldn't load.So, I'm wondering, is there a way to play sound files through ActionScript without having to load them on the first frame?

I am creating a site, and it has a animation that it has to play before loading the next section. What I cant figure out is what function I need to create so that when a user clicks on the vision button it will play the frame after stop(); which will close that section, then have it load the frame for the section that the person clicked on. The only way I can think of doing this is creating 3 different close animations for the three sections. But I figure there has to be a way to have it play the one close animation and then goto the frame which is the portfolio section or vision section (depending on the button clicked).

to play only once and then stop but the camera flash to keep looping.The sound is on a separate layer, but whenever I put the 'stop' feature in the ActionScript, it stops the WHOLE THING, so the camera flashes only once.Again, I want the camera flash to repeat, but the click sound to play only once.

I would like to play a sound every time I reach frame 2, but I'm a bit confused with the code. I read some tutorials, but they were about 2.0 and the 3.0 ones were poorly explained.
