ActionScript 2.0 :: How To Hold OnRelease State When On Current Page

Jun 15, 2007

I have a button that animates when you rollover and animates when you roll off. Let's say it is my home button. But I don't know how or what code to have so that my home button stays paused or stopped at the end of my rollover animation when the movie clip page associated with the button is currently displayed. And then if I click on another button like the 'About Us' button to make the 'about us' page load, to have my home button stop being highlighted when the home page is not displayed anymore.

So far this is my button code:
home_mc.onRollOver = function () {
home_mc.gotoAndPlay ("_on");
} home_mc.onRollOut = function () {
home_mc.gotoAndPlay ("_over");
}

Flex :: Get State Group / Actual State Object For Current?

I'm using Flex 4.5 and trying to take advantage of the new state groups feature. I have two States (call them readType1 and readType2) that both belong to the same stateGroup (call it readOnly). There are several places where I'd like to do something based on the current state, and it would be the same thing for the two read states. [code]...

ActionScript 2.0 :: Hold Button Over State

Apr 1, 2008

I am trying to figure out how to make a script that allows you to click a button, and once it is clicked, the button remains in it's over state. Then, when another button is clicked, the old button that was in its over state reverts to its off state, and the newly clicked button then appears in an over state. How would I do this?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Flex - Loading Page As One State And The Main Application Design In Another State?

Apr 9, 2011

It's my understanding that view states can be useful when switching the layout of design elements. Such as, a loading page as one state and the main application design in another state. Is this the correct use of them? Additionally, I have a label in State1 and I cannot figure out how to access that label via actionscript. labelID.text = "New Text"; is not working.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Movie To Stop At The Current Frame Whenever Click And Hold The Mouse Down Within The Area Of The Container?

May 4, 2005

I was certain that this type of problem would have been previously discussed here or in a tutorial. I have looked quite a bit and could not find anything that puts all the pieces of my puzzle together.As the movie is playing (looping), I would like the movie to stop at the current frame whenever I click and hold the mouse down within the area of the container. Furthermore, I would like to be able to scrub the movie backward if I drag my mouse to the left within the container and as I reach the left end of the container, the movie is at the first frame. And similarly, I would like to scrub forward if I drag to the right within the container and as I reach the right end of the container, the movie is at the last frame. On top of this daunting task, I would like the movie to resume playing from wherever I have released the mouse.

Here is a file that I have started and I am pretty much at a loss as to where to go now. I know it has something to do with where the mouse is relative to either side of the container, but...how does one get it to work?Basically, I would like to emulate the functionality of the QuickTime Player - the one where you can grab the slider and drag it left or right to scrub in either direction and then upon release of the slider it resumes playing.I do not understand the media components in MX 2004, maybe this type of thing is "easy" to program in to one of those modules?

Actionscript 3 :: Change The Current State Of Itemrenderer?

Oct 15, 2009

I have created a module with 3 states as an itemrenderer. The states are called Movies, Songs and TvShows. The base state is empty. The itemRenderer consists of Hbox, Vboxes and labels.And I have created a List component.What I want to do is to populate data in my List component and make it visible using my ItemRenderer. Depending on the data that is pulled out from the database I want to show the itemRenderer's correct state. Hence if the record pulled out from the database is a song, I want to display the Song state, if it is a movie, I want to show the Movie state and so on.So depending on the data that's pulled out, I would like to change the current state of itemrenderer.

Professional :: How To Hold "on" State For Buttons

Oct 16, 2009

I have created a map of Scotland, in Flash, with buttons for each region.As you can see (attached), it is pretty basic, with links off to a specific page of a website that I'm developing.1) When a region is clicked, on my current map, I have it redirecting to a page on the website with a QueryString value which populates the two "region" drop down menus.  I'd like, when this happens, for the on state that was just selected (clicked) to remain in focus until a user rolls out onto another region. Is that possible?  The problem I'm having is that when the map initially loads, I need it to be blank.2) How do I take a copy of images from Flash?  I've tried exporting as a gif, but the colours are different and the text is awful looking

Flex :: The Current State Of NavigateToUrl And Popup Blockers?

Nov 25, 2011

Apparently there's a problem with the nagivateToUrl function in Flex, namely that it tends to get blocked by the popup blockers in some browsers. A project I've recently joined is using a workaround for Firefox using browser sniffing, but a new feature would be a lot cleaner to implement if I could drop this. whether this problem still exists with current Firefox versions? What about Firefox 3.6?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Re-instantiating A Page Class In Original State ?

Nov 29, 2010

I'm making an app with pages set out as classes which extend the MovieClip class.

What I've got are back buttons and different pages which go to the same page, however... If I end up going out of a page and back into a page (specifically one with drawn squares and dynamic text boxes called from a web service), it seems to have kept all of the original information.

So far I've tried killing all of the children with a while loop targeting the index and also using weak event listeners - neither is working!

ActionScript 2.0 :: Highlighting Current Page In Navigation?

Dec 14, 2006

I want to highlight the current page in my navigation.

I have the code below (duplicated for each button on the page) which changes the colour of the text in the nav when you rollover and then back when you rollout. I'd like to have the text stay on the rollover colour if it is the current page.

I've been messing around with variables and have added the bit onto the onRelease function which displays the "page" variable in a dynamic text box. This works fine, but I'm now stuck on how to use this variable, everything I've tried hasn't worked.

I can understand the principle of what I want to do as I can do it in PHP or CSS. I need some kind of conditional statement, for example (in laymans terms):

if page equals 1 then make text colour red or if page equals 2 then make text colour red and so on...

Code:
var up = "0xC5B9B3";
var over = "0xC6006F";
_root.nav.button_1.onRollOut = function() {

[Code]....
