View 2 RepliesHow do I change the colour of the sprites border? I've got some working code using sprite.transform.colorTransform, but that changes the colour of the whole sprite.
ActionScript Code:
function deck8x1MouseOver(event:MouseEvent):void
{
var deck8x1RedBorder:ColorTransform = new ColorTransform();

basically, I wanna highlight the edge of my image (which is a mc), on rollOver...and I also wanna increase the amount of "red" "green" and "blue" in that image, (like when you select a mc on the stage, and go - advanced, - colour, - and do stuff there
View 2 RepliesThose movieclips are linked to a simple custom class I wrote which extends movieclip.They were created in the IDE, not created with code. The border is applied in the property inspector and is visible in in the IDE before publishing.The textfields *are* there, I can type in them, but I need the white box and border to be visible.The white box and and border appear fine in player 9+ when published for 9+, but when published any lower the borders and box disappear
View 1 RepliesI want to create a flash document that allows me to change the colous of an image using a colour palette of my own. I am a complete beginner and have no idea where to start this, hence i would need to know what to do and how to do it. I basically want the image to be a simple 2d image that i will create using different layers in photoshop and import them into flash, the layer images will all be one colour so the colour of the whole layer changes. so the colour palette will be on the side of this and when i click on an image and then a colour the image changes to the colour i clicked.
View 3 RepliesI am parsing colour codes that I get from a Flex(Flash ActionScript) application, then creating HTML div elements with that same colour. My Problem: The colours are all only 8 digits long. So they cant be RGB colour values can they? What color value format are they in? If I can figure the format they are in I can convert them to RGB. Maybe the last/first digit signifies its 0. alpha value?
PS: Should I convert the colours to RGB or something else?
This is an example of the colour code values I getting from the flash application:

View 3 Repliesi created an input text box that puts the users input into a global variable, but when i test it it gives me not only what i have typed in but all the html formatting for the font that my input text box has on it.I only want the text that i have typed in to go into the variable but the wackload of html is going in there too. ive tried a few different things, rewriting my code, recreating the text box, changing settings, dont know what im missing.
View 10 RepliesI'm trying to build a fahrenheit to celsius convertor in AS3. How can I test to see whether what is input into a text input box (flash component) is not a number? This isn't correct but you can get an idea of what i'm trying to do:
if (celsius_txt.text == NaN || fahrenheit_txt.text == NaN)
{
//do something;

View 1 RepliesUsing AS3 to create a basic number guessing game but for some reason the input text field won't accept text input. I can't figure out which piece of code is causing the problem and it's driving me nuts considering it's from a tutorial.

import flash.display.MovieClip;

This code corresponds to a quiz question where the correct answer is either blue or green. I get the #1009 error if I input "blue". The answer "green" seems to work ok. What's wrong with my code? Is there a better way to make is so more than one answer works? Something like "blue" or "green" or "otheranswer", etc..?
Below I have set up a movieclip and now I want to set the colour
Code:
this.attachMovie("bgimg","bgimg_mc",this.getNextHighestDepth());
bgimg_mc._x = 10;
bgimg_mc._y = 96;
I dont want to tween the colour just set it something like Code: bgimg_mc._colour = #ffffff I know that's not how to do it but you get what I mean from that.

View 12 RepliesI got an input function in witch i set all the variable i want to display. To make it clean i would like to input any number of vars without having to change my input function to avoid the "Expecting more/less arguments". Then i would like to get any type of var (bool num int ....) in the input and then check their type, instead of declaring the first input var being exclusively a number for example. Is that possible and how, don't know if i was clear,
View 5 RepliesI am going nuts here. I've searched exhaustively, and cannot seem to find anyone else experiencing my issue, so it must be something elementary I am not grasping. I'm creating TextFields dynamically, for use as input boxes:

View 1 RepliesCurrently I skin videos with Steel External no volume. However my client wants a lighter grey, not as light as Mojhave but lighter than steel. I wonder if anyone knows if I can get other coloured flash skins (just the basic ones) from anywhere. Im happy to purchase but all I can find are fancy skins rather than just more variety of the standard skins.
View 1 RepliesI'm having a problem I haven't seen before with a Flash application I'm working on. I have attached two images of a part of the screen: one is taken with 16 bit color setting and the other with 32 bits. The texts are standard dynamic text fields.when i view the app at 32 bits all colors seem to be OK, but when I set it at 16 the textboxes seem to have a different background color, even though it's set to transparent!
