ActionScript 2.0 :: Border Around My Input Textfields Disappears When Published To Player8 And Below?
Feb 18, 2009
Those movieclips are linked to a simple custom class I wrote which extends movieclip.They were created in the IDE, not created with code. The border is applied in the property inspector and is visible in in the IDE before publishing.The textfields *are* there, I can type in them, but I need the white box and border to be visible.The white box and and border appear fine in player 9+ when published for 9+, but when published any lower the borders and box disappear
I have a simple static text MovieClip that is masked in the timeline the traditional way - layer above the text layer has a rectangle and that layer is set to mask. This looks fine in the timeline while authoring. As soon as I publish it as Flash 9, the text disappears
I am making some progress with an interactive poetry projectearlier.Unfortunately I have another problem which I can't seem to solve. In the project I create 49 textfields in a 7x7 grid. The properties are stored in an array. The code I have to do this works as intended.
var instances:Array = []; for (var i:int = 0; i < 49; i++) { var j_inst:TextField = new TextField();
I know that this has to be something simple, but it's still kicking my butt.I put an input textbox on a layer and everything looks fine.I play the movie and no textbox?If I put a filter on it, it will show up but otherwise it looks like there is nothing there.Not even the border is visible.All of the static text is good, just no input box.
I have a textfield i want to use in a simple contact form where a user can send a message. I've created a textfield, then set it to [code]My problem is, when trying an example message hitting the enter key on the keyboard wont move me to the next line like I expect?
I have an input textfield were I need to insert a number when it has focus and the user presses a button, like in a calculator. I have everything else working, the problem is thatinput1.text = anything;doesn't work, not for any of my 10 inputfields, like it does with my output fields (dynamic textfields)
I have created three input textfields for the first, middle and last names in a form and then to pass the input to 3 dynamic texboxes, the middle name is optional so someone might not fill it out and the dynamic textbox would show "undefined", how to make the unfilled input textfield result in a blank/empty dynamic textbox?
I open up Flash CS5 and make a simple INPUT TEXTFIELD. I run the program, and I can't even use all the characters. It is under ARIAL font. This is literally destroying my soul. Look, if I want to embed fonts, I will embed fonts like in CS4. What is the crazy idea that now we have to embed every font we want to use? Is that how this is going? If I want to use ARIAL, I literally have to embed it? Did APPLE get their hands on Adobe developers and do something seriously this sick to the CS5 world?
I want to make simple input textFields like in the past, without having to embed fonts.
drawPanel is a movieclip which contains 23 textfields which I've created in the lib. 23 textfields has their instance name.. var1, var2.. etc... I need to ref dynamically to the textfields to input the characters. I see people using getDefinitionByName however can't get that to work.
I have the following problem. I created a very simple log in with two input textfields and a submission button. The problem is that people would type in their log in informations and then hit enter, which results in a page break for the password input textfield. I tried a few things like setting the input textfield to single line which did not make a difference. Then I tried to apply to on enter key action but had to realise that you can only apply this action to a buuton and not a textfield. Any help would be apreciated. I am working with flash 8 on a mac with osx...
on (release) { if (name.text == "student" && password.text == "student") { gotoAndStop("workPlacements"); } else if (name.text == "admin" && password.text == "admin") { gotoAndStop("workPlacements"); } else false_txt.text = "invalid password or username" }
I have a problem with input textfield. The problem is, I have 2 input textfields, and a button. When the button is released, it will check if the 2 input textfields is filled. If they are filled, the AS will clean the input textfields, but next time the button is released, it don't check if the input fields are filled How can I restart, refresh the input textfields? So they are like "new ones".
Code: private var title_txt:TextField; private var artist_txt:TextField; private var myFormat:TextFormat; myFormat = new TextFormat(); myFormat.align = "center"; [Code] .....
The problem now is that changes of myFormat (in size or color) don't have any effect on the text in the text fields. Why is this and how can I improve this? Did I forget to import a certain class again?
Im having an odd problem--I have 5 input textfields on the stage, but for some reason when run in order to input text within the first two fields I have to click within those fields from around its middle all the way to the right.Otherwise, no caret shows up and no typing displays.The other fields all work fine--ie, I can click at their leftmost point and get a caret and start typing..I even used the same textfield(#3) to create fields 1 and 2 and still I have to click about midway or to the right to get the caret.
You've seen those Input Text Fields on web sites that have titles on them, i.e. Name, Email, Message, in the Text field itself. Then, when you click on the the text field to type something in, the "title" disappears and you can type your info in. Perfect example: [URL] (Under "contact")
*Can two CS4's produce different published .swf from the same fileset?I have a flash suite written by a young man in China.When I test the .swf file in the suite it works fine.However I need to make some minor redesigns so I need to change the .fla file - but before I do I found that when I publish a new .swf from the .fla file (with all the necessary action scripts/xml etc in the right place) it doesn't produce the same outcome. Instead the navigation (next page, items per page etc) is missing.
When he does the same thing (I trust his integrity) he gets the new .swf with the navigation in tact.You can see the two outcomes at the web address below (mock data).There are no code changes, no library changes that I can find.So I thought maybe there is something about different settings or 'environments' that can affect the outcome?
I have a kind of unusual problem... Im building a prototype for a UI wich you can navigate around in. And we use a mockup-prototype-model with a numeric keyboard built in and connected trough USB to fetch keypresses and use that as a joystick to navigate around and get a feeling how it would feel like to navigate around using a joystick in your hands. The problem is that it sends kind of unusual keypresses from the joystick. Everything works fine when I test the movie in Flash CS5 on a mac (cmd + enter). But not on a PC or in all of the published modes (.exe, .swf or .app). The codes I use in my if statements to navigate that doesnt work is:
I can't get my "dock" to center horizontally when i publish the movie for full browser flash(100%/no scale).It works fine when you test the movie. I don't get it. heres the code
I'm working on a project where I want to use a transparent png, and when authoring in Flash CS3 (using actionscript 2.0) the png image appears transparent just as it should. However when I test it the .swf file loses the transparency entirely. The png image was saved for web from photoshop as png-24.
I'm working on a project in Flash Builder 4 and I've run into an odd situation. The changes I make to the code do not seem to be published in the swf that pops up when I build and run. I can actually delete the entire main class and (even though I get lots of compile errors), the swf will still run just fine. This is actually a project I imported after it had been setup by a previous developer. We may be using different versions of Flash/Flex Builder.
If i have two or more input boxes to create a crossword puzzle, how can i make the cursor automatically jump to the second input box after the first input box is filled with a character?
i created an input text box that puts the users input into a global variable, but when i test it it gives me not only what i have typed in but all the html formatting for the font that my input text box has on it.I only want the text that i have typed in to go into the variable but the wackload of html is going in there too. ive tried a few different things, rewriting my code, recreating the text box, changing settings, dont know what im missing.
I'm trying to build a fahrenheit to celsius convertor in AS3. How can I test to see whether what is input into a text input box (flash component) is not a number? This isn't correct but you can get an idea of what i'm trying to do:
if (celsius_txt.text == NaN || fahrenheit_txt.text == NaN) { //do something; }
i have an one input text box, first i type text into it and press space bar at this it will become empty and ready to accept next input from starting position, i make the text box empty by
textbox.text = "";
but the cursor not set to initial position in text box it consider "" as "space" and cursor will display after one space only, i need that cursor again move to starting position..
