I believe it's because when it reads the data from my topics list, it reads topic1.xml instead of "topic1.xml" ( reads without the quotes). Sep 19, 2005I am with big problem, example I am making a "item product", that he goes to show image, the description of the product and the price of the product, the image, the description and the price, I am catching these data of my HTML.[code]As I would make thus, in my HTML I have that to put 4 images, 4 description and 4 prices it to works normal, without giving error, but if I to place 2 images, 2 description and 2 prices it show 2 products, but it still goes until the end of timeline showing nothing.how I would make if I placed only 3 or 2 products, it I would only twirl these 3 with Loop, if I placed 1 product only show 1 time without loop, it he would be without Loop and thus for ahead?

Aug 25, 2011My designer provides me lots of MovieClips containing buttons and its states and most of them contain a TLF TextField. Now I do not want to check each MovieClip where a TLF TextField is used. Can I know exactly in which MovieClips and buttons a TLF TextFields has been used so that I can convert them to a classic TextField, or any method to convert all TLF TextFields to classic automatically by the compiler itself? I tried deleting the TLF library from publish settings: it starts giving me an error, but still not pointing me to where TLF TextFields are being used.

I should really be using a factory pattern, which I'm figuring out right now. My issue is thus: flexibility of the factory pattern, but right now I'm storing the would-be products in special dictionaries dedicated to their type.

Oct 25, 2007I am glad for my first participation in this forum. Currently, I am working on Flash8, were doing a banner animation. It has buttons created by XML binding. When you click the buttons, appropriate product picture appears and when you click on the picture page is redirected to that products page. I want that animation to be automatically browsing products. And when you click some button browsing would stop, picture would appear, if no action wait for a while and continue browsing(first picture, second picture, ...) automatically.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Position Text From Xml List Based On Textfield Height?
Dec 5, 2009I have text that loads into a dynamic text field that is on the stage. The movie clip("tile" in code below) in which the dynamic text field resides is placed on the stage via loop function.I can load the text from the xml file just fine.However, since each text field in loop autosizes, which is what I want, (in height only-width is fixed), I want the next text in the loop to load in a Y position based on the previous text box height including a "cushion" of my choosing. I'm very close, but can't seem to get the math right that is needed for the tiles Y position...

Also, if I want to position my array/gallery somewhere else on stage, where/how do I adjust the x y values?

Aug 12, 2003i'm trying to create an online brochure that users design with products/images they've selected. users will be able to drag a thumbnail to a pre-designed area, then swap them around to their liking. currently i'm in the beginning stages and just learning the power of actionscript.
i've attached two sample .fla files i've been working with. the first sample i have two thumbnails drag to a target and enlarge to a defined size. the second sample i used a tutorial from flashkit --- drag drop swap. it works but the as is not up-to-date. i'm trying to incorporate the two ideas together but get bizarre effects. most of the examples i find are close but no cigar.

Actionscript 3 :: Don't Load Xml Data To List When Publishing By Flash CS 5.5
Apr 9, 2012I build a flash video player which works fine when exported to swf. However when I publish it (F12) does not loading the xml file. As a result video player stuck to frame 2 (where presented a List with video titles and with click on title plays the specific video). The xml link does not ends to .xml. Here is my code about xml loading. I try to change the Flash Player from 10.2 to 9 but I have the same problem.In addition some buttons in frame 2 does not works I suppose because of "Stuck" from xml loading.( Work fine when exported in swf!) Flash Player version: 10.2, Actionscript:3.0, Flash Professional CS 5.5, fps:24, size: 850px(w)x480px(h). Code from FRAME 2.

Feb 6, 2010I am trying to use a list box to show a list of items, and load different images as referenced in the XML when the user changes the selection in the list box. I have the list box created, and have written out a text area to make sure the data is coming through OK when selection changes, but when I pass the image URL to the loader, it doesn't work, but no errors are thrown. I get a good path to the image from the bInput variable below, but when I add that to the loader1 loader variable, I just get [object Loader] from the trace.

Aug 28, 2010I'm loading some CSS for my dynamic text textfields, but I have lots of MC's containing many other MC's which contain many textfields.[code]but the main nuisance is the fact I need to apply this piece of code for every MC in the movie and every MC within an MC... and every textfield.Isn't there a way to apply this CSS just once, to ANY textfield in ALL levels of the project? (Just like when you load an external txt file with LoadVars)
