Is there a way to access or iterate through a list of all objects exported to ActionScript from the Flash IDE? I'm looking to save myself some hassle by just iterating through selected MCs and processing them in a certain way, without knowing their names.
I want to load one out of 18 different instances from my library (exported as mc1-mc18). In AS2 this was simple! I fetched the variable (whC) that contained the name of the movieclip to be loaded and just put it into attachMovie
Throughout different times in my app I have to load, and then later on delete, a series of movieclips from the library.They all have the prefix "mc_".[code]
How do you load external library objects from an external swf? I want to have an external swf that only contains library objects that are exported for Actionscript, and load these from the master .swf file dynamically during the master swf execution. (I may have multiple external swf resource files)I want to be able to load the external swf, and then access it's library objects via actionscript in my main swf file.
But I keep getting an "Error #2030: End of file was encountered." This is (probably) because the class I'm serializing is too big for the "String" object type in AS3. Is there a limitless object for storing an array of characters (or better yet binary), or am I going to have to make my own class? (like one with an array of strings)
I have a question about a library one would create inside a Flash document. I have a bunch of pieces of graphics objects inside a library for a FLA file. I then drag these pieces onto stage to build a more complex object. I then select all those pieces and group them and convert this new object into a movie clip. From there I move it into the library for that FLA file. I notice there is both a graphic for this object plus the movie clip for that object. To me these are 2 separate objects. So when I delete the graphic of the object, it also deletes the movie clip I created of the object.
For whole damn month I spend writing script for a actionscript application on Flash CS5. I had my Window$ Crashed!! and when I tried opening the flash file, it says "error opening File!". my swf is sized 0 KB, I even bought a decompiler, Trillix Flash Decompiler and tried to decompile the swf, it says swf corrupt. Now all I have is some classes and external swfs. Those thousands of as3 codes inside the fla file and the library objects are all gone.
Is there a way to list all Shared Objects that are assigned to a flash movie?(like you push a button in the flashmovie and it lists the names of all the shared objects assigned to the flash movie)
Scenario: 4 areas on 1 stage which are quite similar (eg webcamconference, each area has the same functions)
Buttonobjects are numbered(eg area 1 has playbutton1,mutebutton1,namebutton1,namelabel1, etc)
every area gets a close-Button which closes/shuts down the area.(close1,close2,close3...)i want to archive the following:
if(close1.isPressed){ function invisall(1); }[code]....
this should do the trick via dynamic Nr at the end of each default button(eg playbutton) but ofc
"playbutton1"._visible=false;
doesnt work because playbutton1 is still a String.how can i take the String as a Buttonname /ButtonObject? do i need to write an new function? this would destroy the purpose of less code. for now i will split the area into frames that i put on the stage.
I have a combobox and list component on the stage. The combobox has 3 selections. How do I get it so that each selection triggers the specific xml file to load into the list component? I can't get them to communicate to each other.
Code: var myArrow:ArrowMovieClip = new ArrowMovieClip(); var vectorDisplayObject:DisplayObject = stage.addChild( myArrow );
I used the code above to create an instance of an arrow graphic that I made using the line tool (the graphic is embedded in a movie clip). I now want to add different colored fills and different stroke sizes and colors using code. Is it possible to do this with pre-drawn vector graphic objects, or is it only doable if I create the arrow with code using things like lineTo and curveTo?
I have two Lists (components) on stage. The first one (mainList populates from an XML called topics.xml
[Code]...
on event handler change, I want to load the second list on the other list component, called subList..It's not loading.. I believe it's because when it reads the data from my topics list, it reads topic1.xml instead of "topic1.xml" ( reads without the quotes). If I unquote line v.list.load("subtopic.xml"), it works, but I need it to be loaded from the XML..
I have a very general requirement that seemed very simple: Step 1: Load a new external JPEG image into a MC with a string var encoding a string caption in the URL link (VALUE="../fadeTest.swf?someTextVar=TestCaption") within the EMBED / OBJECT sections. I know how to do this and it semed to work fine. STEP2: When the JPEG is loaded I would like the substituted Text to Fade In over the JPEG. The JPEG should also fade in before the Text. The fade rate should be programmable.
if there is a way to get a manual text list (or an array or really just anything I could use to get an overview) of items in the library of an FLA...?
I have about 60 movieclips of different flags in my FLA- they all are "linked" to be used in Actionscript- so they have names there but are not named otherwise (as instances on the stage, for example).
Is there a way to get a list of them? I don't want to have to type them all out manually, if there is another way
import or load a library of .as3 files into flash.I found a library that has many .as3 files in folders and subdirectories.How do I use these in a flash as3 project?Do I just stick the folder into the same folder as my project?
import myfolder.filename
Or is there a formal process for importing an entire folder with subdirectories of as3 files.
I build a flash video player which works fine when exported to swf. However when I publish it (F12) does not loading the xml file. As a result video player stuck to frame 2 (where presented a List with video titles and with click on title plays the specific video). The xml link does not ends to .xml. Here is my code about xml loading. I try to change the Flash Player from 10.2 to 9 but I have the same problem.In addition some buttons in frame 2 does not works I suppose because of "Stuck" from xml loading.( Work fine when exported in swf!) Flash Player version: 10.2, Actionscript:3.0, Flash Professional CS 5.5, fps:24, size: 850px(w)x480px(h). Code from FRAME 2.
How do I load XML from a local file into a List component in MXML Flash Builder 4?
I tried using Actionscript to create a loader, but I can't seem to add an event listener to the loader. I've tried to create a local service but I couldn't get that to work either.
I'm making an XML driven AIR app. I plan on having multiple XML files being used - some for content and some for storing settings, state etc.
Trying to load images dynamically from library NOT externally since i want these images to be loaded when the site is launched. Basically i have several buttons, each button returns an event that throws a specific image name to grab. Here is the function;
function sendDisplayData(e:MouseEvent){ display_mc.displayName.text = e.currentTarget.parent.menuItemName.text; //name of image eg. "myImageName" in the library; //create the image object
[code]....
So how can i make this function dynamic by using a String and then grabbing the image related to that string from the library.
I have Main.fla and SkinA.fla. Both have MovieClip library item: MC_BrandLogo.I'm loading the SkinA.swf into Main.swf in the current application domain trying to replace the class inside Main.swf. If there is no library item in the Main.fla, I can instantiate MC_BrandLogo with the correct graphic. If the MC_BrandLogo already exist in the Main.fla then that graphic is used even though I loaded new one in the current application domain.Is there a way to replace existing linked movie clips with loaded dynamically?
var loader:Loader = new Loader(); loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onSkinLoaded); var context:LoaderContext = new LoaderContext(false, ApplicationDomain.currentDomain);
I need to load (dynamically) an image stored in the library of Adobe Flash to the loader component. So far, i have imported this image to the library and exported it to ActionScript under the linkage section. I have named its identifier as well.
I am new to AS 3.0 and getting stuck with few things.I want to add movieClip named "button" to stage from library.Linkage to custom class name "customButton".Now,
I know that to add a blue circle movie clip from the library the code would be:
var newCircle:BlueCircle = new BlueCircle(); this.addChild(newCircle); In my application I have several different movie clips (circles, squares, rectangles etc). Is there any way to make the "BlueCircle" part a variable? For example...
var theShape= BlueCircle; var newShape:theShape = new theShape(); this.addChild(newShape);
haha. Even as I write that I know it's really wrong.
I have an array that lists movieclips.When I add a movieclip to the stage, I want to add it to the list (not as a string.) I use a string variable and add _root. to the beginning of it to do this. Unfortunately it lookes for the variable itself instead of what string it stands for when I run it.
movieList = new Array(); if (duplicate) { _root.enemy.duplicateMovieClip("enemy"+i, i);[code].....
What I want to do is compile an .fla with nothing on the stage but several of the movieclips are set to export on first frame in the properties linkage manager. When the .swf runs, I want to loop through and get the names of all the exported assets so I can place them in an array and manipulate them later.
I want to turn the code over to the art team where all they have to do is attach my .as file for the document class. I will not know what they name their movieclips, yet they are instructed to name them alphabetically according to what order they should appear. (My code is a sort of self contained slide show).
I simply want to generate a list of the items in my library. (Then i want to read an external file and format the text in as3. All this bec I'm too lazy to learn CSS.)
I have a list containing display objects from throughout the application (insertion order). I want to process the list either top-down (parent, child) or bottom up (child, parent). The only requirement is that either a parent is processed before any child or vice versa a child before its parent. What is a good approach? This question is not about sorting a list. It's about retrieving the depth of a particular display object.
Example Display list: A (root) B1 C1 C2 D1 B2 ......
My list: list = [E1, F4, A, B2, B1, C3, ..., N9, N8]
Bottom-up: N9, N8, F4, E1, C3, B2, B1, A
Top-down: A, B2, B1, C3, E1, F4, N9, N8 Does not matter if N9 before N8 or N8 before N9. Important is that any N is before M (first run) or any M before its children N* (second run).
I have a movie clip that holds one bitmap image, some simple AS3 to change the image displayed, and a ton of bitmaps I've imported into my library.Currently, I swap the images by changing the bitmapData
holder.bitmapData = new test2(1,1);
but this requires me to check off 'Export for ActionScript' in every symbol. I'd rather not go through every bitmap in the library and do this, is there some way to reference them by their library name?
