I would like to open a separate swf file from with in flash, but by default, it opens the swf in a browser. I would like this file to open in a stand alone player not in the browser.How can I achive this? Right now I'm using the getURL() action. My CS5 flash crashed when I changed the name of the root folder while it was open. Swf is working fine, but .fla file wont open, I get a "Failed to open document" message. This is a disaser because I've lost two days of work. Is there anything that could be done to fix this problem?

My coworker also tried it and it does not work for him on IE on Windows.HOWEVER, If I have SAFARI open it works fine, and If I drag and drop the .swf file into either browser and then click on the links it goes to the web page.

Context: I am allowing users to copy flash into their PowerPoint presentations and would like to tell them to update their flash player if necessary. I am not embedding a web page in the power point so no JS can be run for checking etc (because I know this is not necessary).

View 3 RepliesI am making a flash site and there is a main SWF which loads and unloads all other SWFs into and from it. For example, there are links to pages Home, Biography, Gallery, etc. When you click the Gallery link, gallery.swf loads and it is added to the main SWF.
So here's my problem: when I test my movie, everything works perfectly, but when I open the SWF that was created by testing movie in a stand-alone Flash Player or a browser, those SWF's sometimes don't load. If I click Biography link, for example, it usually doesn't load biography.swf but if I click Gallery link, which may or may not load gallery.swf, and then Biography link, there's a greater chance that biography.swf will be loaded.

View 1 RepliesI have been working on a project for a week and suddenly it crashed during save (nothing strange had been imported or anything i just saved after moving content around) and now i cant open my file again. I contacted adobe support who claim that since the problem is related to the file this is not their problem, what a load of HORSE ****, who should i contact about this dell if its an FLA FILE!? I have already renamed the file to flash.zip then opened with WinRar and repaired as a new zip file to a different folder (which removes the corrupt content which is document something.xml) then i tried renaming this folder back to flash.fla however the file still does not open.
