I used URLLoader and URLRequest to send XML object containing game score to a JavaServer Page (storedata.jsp) running on Apache Tomcat server. The AS3 code snippet is shown below:

However, here comes the problem. The pageContext.request.reader doesn't return a parsed XML object. When I display using c: out, I saw [#document null] output. Hence, the x:set statement generates runtime error.

Means X,Y axis can be of any length...In that case I was not able to resize the stage...Is there any way to create .swf file runtime whose dimensions can be decided runtime?I thought of proportenate drawing.... but font sizes will become too small..unless zoomed...

Sep 9, 2009I have a normal XML file which i chucked together that works fine with the code i have below - this is obviously saved as an xml file as well. What I'm trying to do is generate an XML page using PHP. I have done so, works fine and reads as it should correctly when simply viewing the page in a browser, but when i try and read out the data in flash (loading in a php file instead of an xml file, everything is undefined!! Below is the flash code, which works when the load() link is changed to a straightforward xml file...

the header at the top of this PHP is generating the page as xml, so it should all be valid.

GRRRR. So I am back to looking for a way to do this with CFC's or CFM's or PHP.All I want is this:
Read the PDF from a Flex app.GET the form field information.WRITE a new PDF with the form field values.I have found so many close but no cigar options ... and I have tried so many that failed. There are so many free PDF this and that out there. But Adobe seems to reserve the real functionality for themselves. All the free options don't seem to have access to the form data?

Data Integration :: Multiline Text Box Reading From Xml File?
May 20, 2009i have a text area, set to multiline. For some reason, when my text imported from xml shows up in the box, it starts several lines down into the box. So for example, my Text box is positioned with the top at the midpoint of my stage, but the text starts about 3/4 down the page, about half way down the text box. Can someone please tell me why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?
I noticed that when I put my cursor in the box and move it up and down, the rest of the text 'scrolls' into the frame, but otherwise it's cut off.
Php :: Reading RAW Data From A Flash POST Request ( Images )?
Dec 8, 2009I'm basically interacting with a third party API flash file to send HTTP POST requests to my server. know I'm on somewhat the right path because it requires a crossdomain.xml file, and before I added that part nothing in the POST variables was showing up, however since I added that file there are 4 variables that are set, these POST variables are sent by the application to give me basic information about the file.. but I actually need to read the RAW POST data to actually save the image being sent by the Flash.I'm aware there are 3 ways...$GLOBALS['HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA'] $HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA which is probably the same as the firstfile_get_contents('php://input')For whatever reason, neither of these "work". By "work" I mean they're not being set, when I var dump them I get nothing.
Could it be that there's a setting in php.ini that I need to set, or perhaps the Flash application is truly not sending the actual image? I think it's doing the right thing, because it's a semi popular API and it's used by a couple other sites so I'm pretty sure it's right on their end.

Mar 24, 2011i've filled a circle shape with the bitmap data of a bitmap asset.i need to rotate the circle from the center, so i added the bitmap to the center of the circle and used a matrix transformation to shift the bitmapdata upward and leftward so it appears centered.
now i'm trying to read the bitmap data with getPixel() but the return value is off since it is returning the untransformed position of the bitmap data instead of the visible transformed bitmapdata.

how can i get an accurate reading of the pixel data from a bitmap with a matrix transformation? updated with code. assume the redCircleData in my example is more colorful and something worth retrieving pixel data.

Nov 22, 2006I am trying to create a dynamic menu for a video player. Much like the one found here (MTV OverDrive. )Obviouslythis is a Flash site and I can only assume the video list is being generated via XML. I am trying to accomplish the same thing, only I am not using FCS.
I just want to create the buttons dynamically with thumbnail images and text via XML, and in turn load the video based on a button click. I have the video part working fine, using a video object, I just need to know how to create the buttons WITH THUMBS from an XML file. I can figure out how to load the video once the button is clicked. The problem is the menu itself and loading the different thumbnail with the button.I am sure it has something to do with "attachMovie,DuplicateMovie, or CreateEmptyMovieClip" but I am not sure how to do this with XML.

Sep 27, 2010I have a Flash 'application' that is all on one frame and has about 2000 lines of AS 2 code. Works fine if it's all in Frame 1, but when I move everything (that's every layer and all the code) to Frame 3, for example, my menu bar component (which gets its data from xml files) doesn't load the data. I want to be able to do this so as to put a pre-loader on Frame 1 which would jump to Frame 3 when the SWF has fully loaded.

For example, a disabled item remains enabled until the user roll the mouse over it. Is there a way to force a menu 'refresh' after modifying the data provider XML?
