ActionScript 2.0 :: SWF Content Management Ability For Client?

I have a section on a site that my client wants the ability to add her own links within. So basically she wants the ability to content manage that section of the SWF.
I know how to do this using XML but I'm not comfortable presenting it that way to my client. Is their a clean and easy-to-use way for my client to add her own links into the SWF? She has no HTML experience so that's why I'm hoping there's a simple way to allow her to do this. Is it possible to build an HTML page that has 2 input fields and a submit button. The first input field would be for the link name and the second would be for the link path. Then submitting that data would update the SWF file? (I'm sure that I'm over simplying this but I thought I would throw that out there)

I need some advice integrating our content management system with FMS. We are currently using Oracle's Universal Content Management 10g and FMS 3.5.
I am able to get the test video to stream by creating a VOD streaming application in Flash (drag/drop FLVPlayback component and setting the content path to rtmp://serveraddress/vod/TestVideo). However, when I try to incorporate it into UCM the video doesn't load. I have tried checking the .swf skin, .swf video, AC_RunActiveContent .js file, and even the .html file (I have edited the .html file to reflect the new path for the uploaded .swf and .js files) and I still get nothing. I suspect that the .swf video file that creates the connection to the FMS server has something encoded into it that can't be called correctly once it's uploaded to UCM. If this was a traditional website where I could simply drag and drop the files generated by flash into the site's hierarchy, there would be no problem.

Is there a best way to put a content management system into a Flash website so (very IT illiterate) people can update text on certain pages? Im expecting a simple notepad document that they can FTP to a specific folder is the best way but I didnt want to give them access to the entire site.

I have a meeting with a potential client this upcoming Wed. If I am hired, I will be redesigning his website, the major components he wants are galleries of his sculpture art and a way to update the images himself.
My idea: develop a custom CMS so he or his secretary can easily update what images are in the online flash galleries. My idea right now is an HTML/PHP form where they would enter what gallery the image goes to and maybe an upload button for the image, they hit submit and the PHP form edits an XML document which is where the gallery gets its image info from. Can anyone help me figure out how to do this? Or if there is an easier way to develop a CMS for them to update the images in the gallery themselves? Being able to remove images via a custom CMS would be ideal.

I'm working with FLash+XML, and I had a thought: I don't want to give my clients Flash+XML solutions, if they will have to edit the XML themselves. It's too complicated for them.So I thought of a Flash Application for offline use, that would be some sort of a XML Content Management System, built in flash, suitable for offline use (user should upload updated .XML files which is OK). In this app, creating / editing / removing nodes should be like managing folders and their content in Windows Explorer.I don't believe my mind is bright enough to be the first having this idea, perhaps such program already exists. Does it?

I have made a site for an artist with a dynamic gallery using an xml file. I am trying to create a way for him to update the gallery by simply uploading his new photos through a html form. I have an image upload form which puts the images in the directory which the xml file references but I cant figure out how to generate a new xml file to show all the new pictures. Are there any easier ways to achieve an updatable gallery?

I'm getting to work with with red5 and am trying to make a basic app that will stream a random video to the client. Let's say I have 3 flvs on my server, I'd like a client to connect to my red5 app and have 1 of these 3 videos streamed to them. The only streaming i've been able to figure out so far uses netStream.play("video.flv"), this doesn't work for me, I want the server to decide on the file to stream rather than the client.

I am trying to build a client-to-client streaming program - client 1 has a webcam and client 2 will connect to client 1 and be able to view the webcam. Is this possible using 2 swf clients? Can someone point me in the right direction as to what commands would be used to connect the two clients. I have tried: binary sockets Connect() where each clients points to the other and they both time-out NetConnection to try to point each client to one another to establish a connection, but no luck with that either; this seems more oriented towards streaming content to a flash media server rather than to another flash client.

We're writing a flash application that can download a MP3 file, convert it to a Sound object, get the raw data and make some processing (like adding sounds, change octaves). After the processing, we want to send the data back to the server in chunks, so the server will be able to glue the data together and recover the new generated file. The problem is: if we send to the server "wav" pieces of sound, we are able to glue them together without any problem in the generated file. However, if we convert each wav piece to a mp3 file (so we can send a smaller file to the server) and join the mp3 files at the server, the result is a sound with some problems at the merge point.
This is how we load the mp3 file from the server:

In Mac OS X I previously had the ability to export FLV from a variety of sources- QuickTime, MPEG StreamClip, Unexpectedly, the flv export option is now missing. In CS3, there used to be an Adobe QuickTime plugin called "flv.component". That item is no longer installed by CS4.
- The Questions
1) Is it still possible to export FLV from QuickTime, etc.?
2) If possible, which installed file or files provides this capability?

So i got the ability to add a numeric value to an mc down. So every time i pick up a coin with a value attached to it, and place it on a hand mc, it'll trace the value i've assigned. very excited on this aspect. I've been searching around for the ability to have a master value that I set say for example 5.0. When I hit another mc, this function (that i need to find out about) would check the values that are resting on the hand. I could not find the proper syntax. I have a very good idea of where it would go and what it would look like but I'm missing the forumla. Now I've bold/underlined the area that I think the check would be executed. When you hit the checkout button, it would tally the myValue sums that are currently resting on the hand mc. So my thought train is that I'd declare another variable like masterTotal (the value I want the person to match), and the handTotal (what is resting on the hand).

I wonder why i can't seem to be able to apply a decimal value to fontSize in Flex. I have tryid it with flash textfield component, mx label and text but nothing seems to accept a decimal value. fontSize is accepting Number and i can set a decimal value to fonts in Flash so i can't see why this isn't working in Flex?

I made a flash clip that has a transparent background to it. I was wondering if there was a way of exiting out of it (the swf, not the browser) when someone presses the exit button I made. I know there is a hide solution but that makes the area behind it not clickable.

I'm sure this is pretty easy but I'm at a loss with this one. I have a DateChooser that I'm using to highlight dates when things are being released. And that's all I want it for. I want to turn off the ability for users to click on anything. I don't see how to have selectable false.

I have code that growsUp and growsDown an object using a rollOver and rollOut.
I want to remove the ability to click on this object whilst it is either growing up or growing down.

I'm trying to give users the ability to download icons from my site. Thus, when the user clicks an icon, I need aim to launch and have that particular icon downloaded for the user to use. I know how to launch aim from Flash, but I'm uncertain how to launch aim and have icons from my sited downloaded directly to the users aim screen name.

I have an app that allows you to save data into a database and gives you the ability to edit that data at a later date. Let's say the user saves
"Up to 90% off retail price"
Everything works fine, the % gets saved in the table etc. The problem is when they return to Flash it now reads
"Up to 90 off retail price"
All I'm doing is taking the value of the variable and sticking inside a text box, I can't see why Flash is having trouble reading that value into a text box. I am making this data into an html ready textbox.

if your using mx why not just take advantage of the ability to load external mp3s. if not you would have to have something like php to send the track name and info to the music player to tell it what to open.
