ActionScript 3.0 :: Load External SWF Into MovieClip On Timeline?

Apr 15, 2012

I have a flash Project, and I have external SWF's that are loading and unloading into my project. However I need the external SWF's to be under certain layers. What I would love to be able to do is load my external SWF's into a MovieClip that is already residing on the layer underneath those items. However I have no idea how to do this.

I have the files here. Pretty straight forward, the main SWF("mod_loading_2.swf"), loads and unloads the other two SWF's("m-1_intro.swf", and "m-2_WIB.swf"). There is a layer named loader layer, and I would like to load the external SWF's into a movieClip on that layer. The load and upload code are in the main SWF

How do I load these SWF's into a MovieClip on the timeline?

Trying to replace a timeline loop with a setInterval. For some reason, the function I am using to duplicate my movieclips is not working from setInterval but does work from a normal function call. Why would this be??? I know the functions is actually being called because I traced it. But the duplication of the ball does not.

birthBall = function(){

this["ball"+_parent.counter].colNumber = random(4);

[Code].....

The startAds function is called from javascript. When run in IE 6 & 7 everything works fine. When run in Firefox 3 i can see it enter the function and even assign and intervalId but the function set in the setInterval function never gets called. If i call setAds from actionscript and run it in Firefox 3 it works ok. Its just when the startAds function is called from javascript in Firefox 3.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Creating Wipe - SetInterval Not Working

May 10, 2005

I'm trying to create a wipe, where a bar expands vertically from the top to the bottom. This was accomplished with a motion tween. Now, I'm trying to use AS to duplicate that one bar across the screen, and this is done inside a movieclip, and the movieclip is on the main stage and it is setMask(my_mc); to reveal an image beneath.

Here's the code I'm using:
totalBars = Math.round(Stage.width/bars._width);
i = 0;
duplicate = function () {
if (i <= totalBars) {
i += 1;
bars.duplicateMovieClip("bars"+i, this.getNextHighestDepth());
this["bars"+i]._x = i*bars._width;
}else{
clearInterval(intervalID); }};
var intervalID = setInterval(duplicate, 10);
But it doesn't work!

ActionScript Code:

ActionScript 2.0 :: [fmx] SetInterval - Let One Of The Menu's Fully Load Before Mousing Over The Next Item

Jun 16, 2003

[URL] In the movie linked above, the first two menu items trigger a menu to come out on the right side. Right now, it's the same menu (content wise), but the effect is still the same.

Here's my problem: If you let one of the menu's fully load before mousing over the next item, it works fine. However, if you mouse over the next link before the menu is fully loaded, you, the interval starts to snowball, and the menu's won't load fully any longer. The period the menu is down gets shorter and shorter the faster you go between the links.

I mentioned in my last thread, this is *not* the way I really want to handle the menu rolling up, becuase it's a hack/klooge - it's just not the best way. However, in light of me not knowing a better way to actually trigger the next menu once the first menu is rolled up, setting an interval seems to be the closest thing to what I want.

ActionScript 3.0 :: How To Working Without Timeline

Aug 16, 2010

So I decided to make the jump today. I wanna learn how to use pure code only. I've been reading on how to structure the project and the packages and stuff.So I just wanna make sure I get this right.Let's say I still wanna make my project in Flash, basicaly I would only add my graphic elements (stuff I made in photoshop) to the library and export them for actionscript.Then only have one frame in the project, and script for that frame would probably be simple likeimport com.blablabla.init;And then call a init() function I would of wrote in that init class.Then within that init class would import all my other classes (would probably have something like visual classes, like navigation bar, background, etc and then structure classes with methods in them)And then everything just happens from within the init() function.

Jump To Frame In Timeline While Working?

Mar 23, 2011

Today I found that flash had no option to jump to unassigned frames.

Say, I am working on frames numbered from 1 to 250. Now I need to jump to frame number 15000 and I found that I cannot jump to the frame number 15000 directly. I have to click in the Timelline and move the scroller right to its full extent, again click in the last frame visible in the time line and so on continue this until I reached the frame 15000.

Is there any easy way to jump to frame 15000 ??

ActionScript 2.0 :: GotoAndPlay() Not Working In Main Timeline?

Aug 12, 2009

I have a main timline with MCs in it. when the MC gets to the last frame, there's an onEnterFrame event telling the main timline to go back to frame 129 (labled "b1") and play.

I got the MovieClip(root).gotoAndPlay("b1"); part added to my function to call the root. however, when I test the movie, it does everything correct except play. it goes to b1 and stops. here's my as3:

code: this.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,goBack);
function goBack(e:Event):void {
MovieClip(root).gotoAndPlay("b1");
}

why it won't play? I've tried using just the frame number and that won't help either. there's nothing else on the main timeline to stop the movie...
