ActionScript 2.0 :: Stop Circular Menu On Mouseover

I'm trying to make circular menu with 5 buttons, that rotate around the center and stop when the mouse is over a button. Since I know very little about AS2, I've based my code on those "Creating 3D Carousels" tutorials at [URL] So far, I've managed to put everything into position, but I can't figure out how and where to implement roll over and roll out function.
So far, the code looks like this:

I trying to create a menu bar at the top of my webpage. It has about 5 buttons on it that each have a rollover action to go to and play a certain frame within a movie clip. This clip is a menu that slides down from the button and contains links. However, I do not know how to have the menus remain there while the mouse rolls over it. The buttons are in a row adjacent to each other. I tried creating a rollOut rectangle to make the menu disappear when the mouse is not on the menu or corresponding button, but when the buttons are placed right next to each other, it hides the rollout action preventing the menus from closing if the mouse drags from one button to the next. I also can't hide the menu using the rollOut action for the button because then one would be unable to click the menu options that appear right after initial roll over.

I've never used Flash for anything more than simple animations, I know nothing about actionscript. But I a sequence of images that I've loaded into a movie clip in flash, I need it to play when you mouseover it, stop when you roll off of it.

I have downloaded the following code and tried to change it. It works so far, but the attached MC are "pulsating" - if I change them with another MC (with text inside) I can't use them as a Menu links - they are "pulsating" too much and I can't read/see the text properly. where in code I can change(reduce) this "pulsation"? how can I make the MC-s cklickable=working as a buttons with mouseover/mouseout effects (changing color etc.)

I have a basic mouseover in my flex application which changes an image onmouseover and changes it back onmouseout using the code mouse Over "functionToChangeImageSource()" and another one to mouseout.It works fine when you slowly mouse over and out, however if I quickly move the mouse over it, it occasionally stays on the mouseover image and the mouseout function doesnt appear to kick in. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or does anyone have any ideas why its happening?Also, I've tried the rollOver and rollOut instead but it has the same problem.[code]I'd imagine you're correct about the mouseover event not completing before mouseout is but how to I fix this?

I have a simple movie clip for which i bind two events 1-MouseOver and MouseOut
in these events i am just tracing simple text
But the Problem is when i take my mouse over the movie clip both events called tracing the string in the output panel
Infact, things should be done like that on mouse over, its text is printed and when i take my mouse away[out] from the movieClip MouseOut event should be called.

On the attached swf you'll see my slowly rotating menu. Each of the icons around the outside is a button which takes u to a specific page. When the user rolls over the button I want the menu to stop rotating, and if the user moves the mouse away I want the menu to continue rotating. Should I be using mc instead of a button?

First, I am an ultra newb who has read about 50 tutorials in the past two weeks or so.So, here is what I am trying to do. I have a header navigation box in my flash page. I want, when someone opens the page, for an animation to play. Then, I want it to stop and display my menu.
What I have done: I created two frames and put my animation in one inside the movie clip. The second frame has the menu. When I try to test it, The frames flicker and the animation doesnt play.I tried putting stop() at the end of both frames. This just made it...not do anything and just display the menu.
A friend suggested putting "root.gotoAndStop(2);" at the last frame of my animation, but then I get an error.

My sliding, gliding thumbnail menu is located at the bottom of the page, and it reacts to the cursor movements as intended. However if I were to move the cursor around the page somewhere on the top the menu is still reacting to the cursor movements. I would like it to become inactive once the cursor off the menu. The position of the cursor moves the Sliding Gliding animated menu even if it is not on bgClip_mc. For the first time it works as it should but once it is activated and I move the cursor away from the bounding parameters of the bgClip_mc the Sliding Gliding Menu is still reacting to the mouse movements.

I got this scripts from a tutorial site. It's a 3D rotating menu/panels, reacting to the mouse movement. On mouse click, it will expand to a certain size, but I can't stop the rotation. How can I stop the rotation with the specified panel facing front when mouse release, and return to rotating and its original size upon second mouse click?? And, I notice it's a little buggy, sometimes the panel shink to a smaller size.

i'm trying to do everything in flash vs is exporting the menu to dreamweaver, and i can seem to have the buttons go to a certain frame and stop? this is the action script i'm using in the dropdown menu mc to get the button to work because if i do it in the to level of the scene i get error saying can access button

I have a home page and five other pages. The five pages have a main menu at the top containing buttons that allow you to go to the other pages:

I have an actions layer. Each section has the following action in the first frame: stop(); When I view the website the home page works correctly. However, any page with the main menu automatically switches to the next page after about six seconds. The code seems pretty straightforward so I have no idea what I'm missing.

I have a problem with my slideshow script. I have embedding a flash video file into my website with this slideshow called monoslideshow, and everything seems to work perfectly. Trouble is, when I am clicking on another menu button that should jump to another frame, it still keeps playing the video and sound while displaying the new menu data.So I will probably need some code that stops the video instantly, when another menu button is clicked. But how do I write it and where do I put it?

I'm making a slide menu that loads a xml file and creates buttons dynamically. Another functionality it has a sliding menu also, and I can't stop it. Heres goes the zip file, which contains .fla and .xml files. What I want to do is when I put the mouse at the top of the mask, the menu stops on the first option, and when I put the mouse at the bottom, the menu stops on the last option. Is it possible? [URL]

I have a problem with gotoAndPlay option.I have 2 layers with 3 keyframes, on 2nd frame i have movie clip image_mc which has a dropdown menu and here i will stop the timeline. On mouseover of image_mc I will get a dropdown in which if I click on 1st menu the timeline should go and stop on 3rd keyframe of main stage, but its going to 3rd frame inside movie clip, how to come out of mc on click.

i'm making a rollover menu with AS3, and when the user mouse clicks I want it to go to a certain frame in a movie clip and stop. It does this fine, however I have an animation for it to play on Mouse out. So when user mouse clicks then mouse outs from the button area it plays my mouse out animation and i'm back to square one. How can i tell it to ignore the mouse out animation if the user has clicked the button?
