ActionScript 2.0 :: TWEEN CLASS Method To Work When The Movie Clip Is A Shape
Feb 5, 2007
I downloaded an Mc Tween Class from [URl] so I can use the ColorTransformTo method. However, the method only works when my movieclip is an image; and I need the method to work when the movie clip is a shape...
I'm trying to learn more about using Tween Class to animate a movie clip. I've got an MC in the first frame of my timeline. Rather than use tweens in the timeline to adjust the x/y coordinates, height/width, and alpha of my MC, I'd like to use actionscript to accomplish this.My research so far has got me to import the transitions and easing,
I have a MovieClip with two buttons inside of it (bottom portion) When I mouse over the MovieClip - it rises up, to revewl the buttons. My problem is, when I mouse over the buttons, the movie clip drops back down. The buttons don't have any actions upplied to them... It acts as though buttons were standing between the cursor and the movie clip... The idea is to hower over the movie clip > reveal the buttons > either move mouse away or click on one of the buttons. However, the movie clip closes when I touch either one of the buttons. Below is the code and thnks a bunch ahead of time:
Im checkin out actionscript for basically first time kind of. Im now looking into creating shapes with actionscript at the same time learning the way actionscript handles oop.
So, here is my problem. Its easy to make a shape, but from within a method of a class, the shape will not appear on the stage. I try the same code snippet in my fla file, and it works fine. Here is the code im using:
So I'm playing with a project where I want my class to be able to use the functionality of the Graphics class without needing to extend Sprite/Shape. My goal aside, I guess I'm confused as to how it works at all? It's methods don't seem to return anything, and since it's added as a child property of the Sprite/Shape classes , I can't seem to figure out what it's actually doing? It's also one of those classes that can't be instantiated.
At this point, I'm just plain curious. EDIT: I should provide more clear distinction of what I'm looking for as answer. I have read the documentation, but the documentation doesn't account for what AS3 is actually doing. I'm looking for educated guesses about the programatic relationship between Graphics and the the classes that use it.
In my project are pages of text with each word having a button that when pressed will display a movieclip presentation about that word (its pronounciation and spelling etc..). In the project I am working on now I have over 450 unique presentations of words to deal with. I don't want to have all of these hundreds of movie clips on the stage and tell them one at a time to stop and rewind and then have one play each time a word button is pressed. That seems to be very inefficient to me.
add movieclips to the stage using addChild(movieclipname) and remove them using removeChild(movieclipname) but there is a problem. I have hundreds of unique movieclips and I don't want to have to manage hundreds of variables containing the indivudual movieclip instancess. It is a real pain having to figure out what instance is still on the stage before i delete it.In Adobe Director all I have to do is this:
If i have a clip with a bunch of stuff inside it (on layers) like other clips, bitmaps, etc. and perform a tween on that clip (via tween class), the stuff inside the clip seems to alpha at different rates.
For instance, i have a clip with an empty movieclip which loads a bitmap image and on top of the bitmap image, i have a gradient feathered edge (.png) bitmap and on top of that I have some dynamic text (embedded fonts).
The bitmap is supposed to create a feathered edge on the photo but since they alpha at different rates, you always see the hard edge of the photo...
is there a solution like cacheAsBitmap which would let the whole clip alpha at once? If it's cacheAsBitmap, i must be using it incorrectly, b/c it's not working!
I have a very simple problem but I can't find the very simple solution to it. I've create an animated menu with animated movie clips inside to work as buttons. All the main buttons work perfectely but I've got just on button with a sub-menu. On this sub-menu I've placed an invisible hitarea button in order to place some gotoAndStop action. The thing is, it seems to me like this submenu hitarea are underneath something else (even though is the seccond layers right about the actions layers). I've placed a simple trace action whenever the mouse rolls over this area but I get nothing... Am I doing something really wrong? I'm losing all my hair already.
I am trying to move a movie clip containing content via AS3 tween with a button outside of the movie clip. I have achieved this effect on another project by using the following code:
Actionscript Code: var myxTween:Tween=new Tween(content_mc,"x",Regular.easeOut,content_mc.x,theXPosition,.8,true);
I set up a moveContent funtion using that tween, then used:
I've been working on a bit big project. I've some components on the stage. There are basically 4 frames. Each frame has some components. What I've done is, I've used tween class. Workflow is something like this:
Frame 1:--used Tween class to get fade effect for List component.--used Tween.MOTION_FINISH event to fire an event when it is finished.--when it is finished, applied eventListener--on Change event, remove eventListeners and use Tween class again to get reverse fade effect.--again used Tween.MOTION_FINISH event to fire an event when finished.--in that evenHandler, gotoAndStop(2);
Frame 2://similar
Frame 3://similar
and so on.. now, what happens, is, if i play with my scene, sometimes tween class failed to work. sometimes it does not display List component, sometimes it displays List component with alpha 0.2. sometimes it happens with movieClip also. Is it flash bug or problem with my code?
I will have three seperate pages for the motion tween, mask effect and shape tween... would you make the seperately, in a different scene, as a symbol or on the same scene with the website.
I have Video Screen on my background image. Where I have masked the movie file to fit that screen. But still it is in square shape, because I can't shape my movie file exactly as screen. I tried with free transform tool but it is also not useful. The perspective tool like in Photoshop sure will work. Is there any such tool in flash cs4? Please help me in this regard.
Still there is black right top and right bottom which to be covered by movie.
I have a movieclip that contains code for an API drawing shape. I can use it to mask a movieclip containing an image but not a moviclip that contains a dynamic gradient.
Code: // CREATE MASK SHAPE WITH DRAWING API // create empty movieclip
my movieclip button was working perfectly as a motion tween. Can you use shape tweens as movie clip buttons? I just made that change, and kept my code:
I am facing a problem in one of my animation with flash CS4 - I have nested a Shape Tween in a Motion tween to get more control over the easers and effects, unfortunately I am not able to view on the timeline of my Motion Tween the action of the Shape tween nested inside.
It only show the first shape of the Shape Tween during the entire Motion Tween and that is really a problem for me because I need to see the final frame result of that Shape tween to be able to position it in a precise way on my scene according to other instances.
i am trying to change the position while the yoyo is working but the tween object goes to the new position and then back to the old position and continuing to yoyo.
ActionScript Code: import mx.transitions.Tween; import mx.transitions.easing.*; var swing:Tween = new Tween(swingObj, "_rotation", Regular.easeInOut, 60, -60, 2, true);
i have inserted on stage through attachmovie a mc and copied 6 times through the cycle for. . now through the class filter I have assigned for everyone the effect always through the cilo for, but I do not succeed to assign transition that is to the effect movement of the filter glow to all the mc for all the rollOut and rollOver works (this is looked at from the small hand and trace) but the every time that step small hand on whichever only mc to a part the transition of the effectnow i show the code of my fla files that is in first frame...
I have 4 shapes which fit into 4 boxes and would like to modify my code so when a shape is placed in the correct box a movie clip appears e.g. if a triangle is placed into a triangle shape the movieclip for triangle appears. if the shape is placed into the wrong box a message appears saying try again.
I have a movie with 3 frames. The first is a place holder for a loader and has some actionscript in my actions layer saying "on click goto 2" etc. The second and third frames hold movie clips, these movieclips hold many layers and have their own actions layers.
Say I am inside the frame 2 movie clip, in the actions for frame1 of that movie clip, I am trying to say goto frame 3 of the root and call a function from the movieclip that lives in frame 3.
In simple terms, the first page loads and the movie clip fades in. Then once one of the navigational buttons is clicked, i need it to wait 3 seconds while the fade out animation plays before proceeding to the next page. There may be another way to have the fadeout animation play before it proceeds to the next page, as im fairly new to actionscript, im not totally sure.
I created a movie clip symbol with a tween animation and created an instance of it on the main stage. The animation is in the movie clip timeline, not on the main timeline. I cannot get the mc to play using mc.play() or mc.gotoAndPlay.
I've made a photo gallery that scales from the center with the browser window size. Now I'm trying to make it so when window scales the gallery tweens to fit the new size, but I can't seem to figure out how to implement it into my previously written code. Here is all the code, sorry its a lot to sift through. I've put some notes in the important sections.
i have a movie clip which is exported for ActionScript , i want to get a variable from the document class into the movie clip class i tried this but there was an error !!
ActionScript Code: var main:Main=new Main(); main.txtScore.text="hello";
I have 10 objects in 10 layers to make a single logo. I have created them using flash drawing objects. Now I would like each object to come one by one on stage using motion tween. How can I go further? Do I need to make each object a movie clip before set it motion tween? Or do I need to make a single movie with all 10 objects as combined? Please note that I need each object to come on stage one by one (not a whole logo on once). Please provide help or any example tutorial link.
