ActionScript 2.0 :: XML GALLERY - Data Doesn't Loads According To The Button
Apr 3, 2009
The problem is if I press the buttons in a sequential manner..the data loads fine..but If i pres it randomly choosing a button..the data doesnt loads according to the button..The problem lies with the Variable "p". Here is the Actions on Frame-1 :
URL...How and where and what do I add to make the movies unload before only the movie corresponding to the button clicked loads up and doesn't overlay?I'm having trouble with the level and all that URL...
In my "actions" layer I have a function that loads a gallery of a external file called gallery.swf. The swf loads successfully but I cant remove that. The only way to remove is to call removeChild(mLoader.content); I noticed that the movies loads without addChild.
But sometimes also calling removeChild(mLoader.content) the content of mLoader is not removed and still appears in the stage.
and I have this swf file with cms that I'd like for this menu to load. Currently the swf file load external text using this code:
Code: if (contenturl1 ne "") { loadVariablesNum(contenturl1 + "/" + userid + "/content.txt", 0);[code].....
but when the xml menu loads this swf file its structure loads but not its data.I tried using :
Code: this._lockroot = true;
in the loading swf main time line but it did not work.I should also mention that the dynamic data that loads onto the swf that is to be loaded by the menu, resides not in it main time line but 4 movie clips deep .I don't know if that makes a difference or not.
i am trying to add extra images to the photo gallery attached. I would have thought it is easy and it seems so. I add an extra image to the gallery. I publish it. The html file shows the extra image in the gallery but the swf doesnt. driving me crazy, cant work it out?
Been butting my head against the wall on this one. Im making a news app that loads xml data and diplays the data onto 3 seperate textfields. The 3rd textfield has auto size set to true, so that the height of each instance of the attached movie is always going to be different from each other. I need to figure out how to get the height from each instance of the attached movie and use those numbers for the verticle tiling so that they dont run into each other.
heres what I got so far. Its the "duke news" box. If you scroll down in the news box, you will see that the text starts running into each other.
The Menu.swf unloads, and the test.swf also loads, I know this because the test.swf plays a sound an I can hear the sounds but the test.swf doesn't display on the screen... I get no errors.
I've tested the published swf files in IExplorer (8.0.6001), Safari (4.0.5) and Firefox (3.6.3). All work.
I've tested the published index.html in IExplorer, Safari and Firefox. All work.
I upoaded to the server. Now there are problems. The gallery (a flash gallery I built using UILoader) doesn't load the first picture in Firefox (3.6.3), but loads fine in IExplorer and Safari.
On a girlfriend's of mine mac, the first picture in the gallery doesn't load in her Safari. But it works on my Safari?
Is stuff like this common? I can't understand why it's happening, I mean, I tested it. On the very same browser it works fine when reading off my hard drive, but doesn't autoload when reading from the net.
I am trying to build a gallery where the thumbnail loads and then you hit the thumbnail and it opens the image full size. I don't want to have it resize.
I'm using Flash CS4 and have linked to a video that hosted on a web server with one of the preloaded flash video skins (ArcticExternalAll). When the page loads the video plays without any problems, but I would like to make it so the user decides when the video starts rather than it automatically starting when the page loads. Is there any way to do this?
I've made a simple preloader to load a movie. This is the preloader code
[Code]...
I see the loading progress percentage correctly run, at the end rotator_mc and counter_txt are removed from the stage, but the loaded movieclip is not added to the stage, or at least I can't see it.
I'm trying to make a photo gallery that loads the pics in as swf's, and was wondering if there was any way for flash to detect the number of files that are in a particular folder on website (also the names of those files).
I found a tutorial that showed how to create an image gallery that loads external bitmaps. It also has some nice fade in/fade out effects using Tweener. I was wondering, what would I need to modify from my code to load MovieClips from the library instead of the external JPEGs.
ActionScript Code: import caurina.transitions.Tweener; var btn:Object;
I am using the fla's that were posted on [URL] regarding the image gallery where the box scales and resizes depending on what it loads(using XML) within it. The boxe's top left stays static which is the goal and the rest resizes according to what loads. Now inside the actionscript it has spacing of 10 which puts space around the bottom and right sides of the image that is loaded but does not put spacing on the left and top. I m trying to get the space so it is on the top and left also, basically so the image loaded is centered within the border. To clarify more simply I just want a even border around the images that it loads. Here is a link to the files being used: [URL] Also for some reason when I tried testing to download the .fla myself from the above link it loaded a page with a whole lot of characters.
I'm trying to make an image gallery that loads 3 photos at a time (look at .SWF). I have also built a function that resizes the photos to fit into its respective box once they're loaded (a maximum of 120x120 pixels). The images aren't getting resized, and they aren't getting re-loaded after the "forward" button is pressed the second (,third,fourth,etc...) time.
I have a .fla that has a preloader on frame one and the rest of the file on frames 2 thru 55. The preloader code is the one that comes in Flash cs5's sample files. there is a movie clip with the instance name lbar and text with the name lpc. here is the code
stop(); import flash.display.*; this.stop
[code]...
It works fine the first time people are on my site but when the page is refreshed or is gone back to sometimes the loader bar is just stuck and doesnt load.
I have my swf (embedded in a JSP page) deployed in Sun Application Server. My swf contains a Loader component which loads image through accessing the url of my servlet. This servlet of mine returns an image. Now, when i try it inside our network, it works both for IE and FireFox. But when i try it on an external network, the Loader loads the image for IE but it doesn't for FireFox. I'm doubting it is an acess problem since it works in IE.
I have a xml gallery at the moment which loads in thumbnails and displays the larger images when clicked. What I am having trouble with is that some of the thumbnails have their own multiple images (more than 1 image for that thumbnail). I want to have a numbered menu 1,2,3,4 and when I click on the thumbnail depending how many sub photos there are for that one thumbnail I want to display an that image. And just to be dificult I also am displaying the larger images in another swf on the same page using local connection.
I've created a photo gallery that dynamically loads images into a movieclip entitled 'gallery'. Right now the images are listed in an array. is it possible to make an Array of Arrays so that I could load different Arrays for different image galleries? Is this somewhat how it would work? Lets say I were to switch to a section entitled 'landscapes' which we will pretend is the array "var a:Array = new Array();" for now.
I made a 'movie' in Premiere and exported as FLV., Its suppose to be a banner on the top of a web page. The site was made with Dreamweaver. When played locally, the banner does great. When I put it on the server, thats a different story. I can tell thats something is there because it loads the background color of the flash file but it doesn't play the FLV.
I'm relatively new to Flash and AS3. I've created a website thats a dynamic photo gallery. The site is self-contained (no scrolbars) and I want the frame work of the gallery to draw itself in as the page loads. The frame work is just simple lines and drawing objects on the maintimeline. Do i combine the lines (the "frame work") into a mc and then somehow use the deco tool? How can I acheive this in action script?
I've got a Gridcolumn in a Datagrid (Spark). The Column's dataprovider is a Number value that gets updated via Binding.Now, without an item renderer the cell displays the correct values.If I set an item renderer, I can't access the values in this renderer.My renderer looks like this, so nothing really do here (for now) but to trace the value, but the value is always NaN.
I have the following script which works jim-dandy when implimented as a frame script in my .swf, but I don't want it there, I want it in a class I've created called FigureItem. I've stripped the script down to just the part that loads the XML. When the script is inside the .swf (without the class constructor, obviously) 'trace(contentXML)' correctly returns the formatted XML. Inside the .as file, 'trace(contentXML)' returns 'undefined'. SOMETHING is loading becase 'trace("yay")' returns 'yay'. (loadXML gets called by the FiguireItem movie clip inside the .swf).
Then About 20 additional Infos like that. Now the whole xml list has the same tags. How would i go about displaying them in flash? I wanted to use one MC and have it duplicate for each info category and place the MCs on the stage so it looks like a gallery. Each MC would have a picture with some info on it loaded form the XML.
In my app, I load multiple xml files. And to load those, I always create a new URLLoader. Nothing special. The first file works fine, the second one does, too. The third one, however, reports to have loaded fine, but the data it holds is actually the data of the second file. The current workaround is to load the third file twice, which somehow works... weird.
All right, this behavior is throwing me off for some reason.
I've got this small library I'm constructing right now. In it I'm creating an object that is rather robust and is constructed from a bunch of smaller objects. The thing is none of these objects are DisplayObjects of any sort... so event bubbling isn't an option here.
The project consists of a public Class object that can be instantiated and a bunch of internal Classes that make up this public one. One of these internal classes is a "backend" to the server. It basically handles communication with the host and makes different netConnections and loads data and all kinds of other stuff. At certain points it updates the front end of different actions that occurs by a custom event type... lets call it CustomEvent... so that way the public frontend Class can do what it needs with it.
Now some of these events that the backend fires really are useless to the frontend except in that the user of the frontend might want to know about this stuff. So I thought I'll just pass the event through by listening for the event and letting "dispatchEvent" capture it:
im having a little problem with my flash site im trying to build. inside my site i have a scroll box that loads data from a xml file, i set the mask and scroll bar of the scroll box to stage.height and it works perfectly, but here comes the problem, the scroll bar that you drag in order to display more data goes past the stage height.[code]
I have a simple swf file which loads data from an external XML file.At present, the user types the filename of the XML file they wish to load.Is it possible for Flash to 'read' the filenames of all of the available XML files in the folder and then present these filenames in a drop down list for example? Then, instead of typing filenames, the user would just click on the XML file they wanted to load.
I'm trying to deploy flash e-learning with dynamic content on a content management server. The xml will not display, no matter how many different approaches I take. So I need a method of encapsulating lots of text within Flash and referencing it from say, an actionscript window.
I seems that referecing any outside content, be it an external actionscript file or text file is out, so I'm left with the option of encapsulation.
