I see the loading progress percentage correctly run, at the end rotator_mc and counter_txt are removed from the stage, but the loaded movieclip is not added to the stage, or at least I can't see it.
I have a .fla that has a preloader on frame one and the rest of the file on frames 2 thru 55. The preloader code is the one that comes in Flash cs5's sample files. there is a movie clip with the instance name lbar and text with the name lpc. here is the code

It works fine the first time people are on my site but when the page is refreshed or is gone back to sometimes the loader bar is just stuck and doesnt load.
I have created a Flex custom preloader, exactly like it is done in this example: [URL]
Now when I implement this, is seems to work fine on my computer in FireFox and Chrome. I publish it on the server, refresh my cache and reload the application and I do get my customized preloader.
But on a friend's computer, the screen stays white for a while, and then for a second or so it shows the preloader, but the indicator is at 100%.
So the loading already happened before it showed the preloader.
When I test and simulate download it shows me the progress of the file loading but the screen is blank white.Here is the code: I have two scenes...this is the preloader scene actions frame 1. Scene one works fine but the preloader doesn't show up

I'm using the code below on preloaders.[code]It doesn't always show all of my preloader, ie: by about 25% of the preloader animation it jumps to the movie. I still want the preloader to play all the frames before it goes to the movie regardless of download speed. Also sometimes it sticks on the final frame of the movie for a few seconds and then jumps to the main scene.
View 13 RepliesI have a small problem with a preloader in Flash MX. It seems to become stuck at "frame 0" instead of showing the preload bar, etc...and I didn't know there was a "frame 0"? When I test it with "show streaming", the screen is blank and the preloader doesn't show, then, when the movie is done loading, the preloader flashes up briefly. I have 2 frames on my main timeline. Frame 1 is the preloader, and frame 2 contains a clip which constitutes the main movie. Frame 2 has stop() and both are labelled correctly i.e. when the movie is finished loading gotoAndPlay("movie") (frame 2) is executed.

so i have a loader.swf that loads in the main file, at the start of the loader there's a preloader, that, when done loads in plays the external swf. and i got another preloader on an swf that i load in, into a dummy MC 1st preloader doesn't show up at the start of the flash 2nd preloader doesn't show up at all and just shows half of the 2nd scene (where the actual movie is)

I am using flash cs3. I created my preloader in a separate scene. calling the scene I want. what I wanted was the preloader to load and play the all next scene, where I have my core website running.
it works fine till one point! here is my drama it loads the scene I want, but it gets stuck in a loop.

Everything is embedded in an HTML site. The HTML loads a preloader that then loads the actual flash movie. Inside this movie I created a few buttons, inside a scroll bar movie clip. I want the buttons to load a whole new movie inside the same html. The code I'm using in the button is simply:

The problem is that it works beautifully in the Flash movie tester but doesn't do anything when tested inside the browser, embedded in the HTML. I think the problem is that the HTML embeds as an object the first movie, the preloader for the menu movie, not the menu movie itself.
I made a 'movie' in Premiere and exported as FLV., Its suppose to be a banner on the top of a web page. The site was made with Dreamweaver. When played locally, the banner does great. When I put it on the server, thats a different story. I can tell thats something is there because it loads the background color of the flash file but it doesn't play the FLV.

Publishing the site on my web space the background is correctly yellow, but the preloader doesn't appear, the browser's loading bar stops at half then the preloader appears again for a fraction of seconds and suddenly the site appears (tested on Firefox, IE, Opera, Chrome and Safari, same behaviour with all of them).It looks that the preloader is become part of the site and that there is an invisibile preloader.The setting in: Publish settings -> Flash -> Script Settings -> Library Path -> Default Linkageis set to "Merged into code"the same happen if I set "Runtime Shared Library" and "Custom Preloader Loop".

I have a Flash website with 5 sections (Featured Work, News, About Me, Services, Contact). All the sections works fine, both in Flash and on the server, if the content isn't loaded from XML. But in the News section i use XML for loading the news.If i test my movie in flash, the whole site works fine, and the XML News works perfect. But if i test the movie in a virtual server (like MAMP) or if i test it on my own server, the news section doesn't show.

The value is there and if you click on that field again it will show up. If you click outside the field for a second time, this time the value stays displayed. How can I get the value to show up the first time the datagrid looses focus?[code]
View 2 RepliesI have Background layer, Bkg_Image layer & Video layer. I have embeded the flv movie on Video layer. Though on stage it shows all the layers, but when I test the movie it shows only Background layer & Video layer. I can't see the Bkg_Image layer.
The Actions layer has external swf loading AS3 which is working fine. Only the problem with Bkg_Image layer which is imprortant for me.
When I test movie, I see as in the following snapshot (Just the Background_Image & Video):

I'm making videos for an instructional program. This involves importing audio, images, animating those images, etc. I'll be exporting to flv format at the end, and then converting them to MP4 for downloads online.H
1.) Should I be using ActionScript 3.0 or ActionScript 2.0 for this?
2.) When I try to import audio, the whole audio file doesn't show up immediately in a new layer that I've created. It only goes in the blank keyframe that I've inserted. How do I import the audio so that the entirety of it shows up?
I am a php programmer who has no experience whatsoever with flash. I've got a swf on my website that calls an image. The images it calls can take a few seconds to load and I would like to display something in the meantime to let the visitor know that the site is working.[code]I've done some Googling and I think it is something to do with LoadListener. Am I right in thinking that this "self monitors" the process and that you can use this to display something in lieu of the actual swf loading??

I have a preloader and it works fine but as soon as I put a movie clip on to it it either does nor work or loads from 80% onwards.All I want is 1 timeline and then have a movie clip come in on frame 8 or so, but in the bandwith profiler it shows content loading in frame 1 when there is nothing there

that's it.I checked. The movie clip that swfs are loaded into has instance "Cont" other instances are also ok. photo, bio and design are instances of buttons. Bio loads the swf but the preloader is not showing up. Photo doesn't load the swf and preloader at all ;/
How can I create a preloader which does this? I have seen many examples of code to load an external swf, but never something that loads itself.

In other words, if I have four images, I want them to preload with a single progress bar representing the total of all four, and then start the movie after all four have finished loading.

I have a file .fla with some impported .fla files and a backgound(scene1). I have a preloader(in the scene2) for it, but the preloader loads the backgound only. The other elements are loaded after the preloader finish.Is there some way to load all the scene2 content (the impported files) with the preloader?

The Menu.swf unloads, and the test.swf also loads, I know this because the test.swf plays a sound an I can hear the sounds but the test.swf doesn't display on the screen... I get no errors.
