I am a student trying to learn how to take multimedia elements from one class and put them on a webpage using Dreamweaver CS4. From an online tutorial, I created start/stop buttons with ActionScript3 URLRequest to reference a sound file. The swf works fine when played; it plays from the html generated by flash but when I use Dreamweaver CS4 > insert > media > swf and then preview page in browser (firefox), the button doesn't do anything. When I compare the html page generated by flash to the html created by Dreamweaver, they look completely different. I don't have a clue what to do next.
I have a game I am working on currently, and say I have an animation that plays (this is in a seperate mc) when you click. So it's basically a function. Anyway, one the animation plays through inside the mc, the last frame I put:
ActionScript Code: stop(); gotoAndStop(1)
After this, I added five or so frames on a seperate layer with another animation on it, put the same code on the last frame, and gave the first keyframe of this second animation the label name "reload".If I then go back to the main stage, how would I code it so that if, for example, I press the down key, it would play that particular frame label?
I am having some trouble linking a button in my flash movie to a separate dreamweaver site. The flash movie will be placed in the homepage of a website and i want to be able to click a button in it to go to a separate page. [code]...
i want to link a flash button to page made in dreamweaver. so i am going from a flash slpash page to html..(if i am correct<--noob) its all on my ftp server so how do i write the actionscript to find the page i want it to? i am sure that i worded this whole thing wrong so bear with me.
I have a simple movie clip of fading in text displaying on page with a sound. also have a button that allows user to go to the next frame. It is an exercise for students that basically goes like this: object presented in each frame, spelling (text) for that object fades in on mc with sound attached to mc, then button activates to let them move on to next. Since they are trigger happy, I don't want the button that allows to move on to activate on the frame until AFTER the movieclip and it's sound have played out (which is like 2 seconds so not a long wait) - otherwise, they would just keep clicking next and not listen to the material presented (it's very young children).
How do I set this up? I knew it's likely very simple, but I'm a newbie. Of course, I could always just do it on the timeline, but I have a ton of material, so am trying to use actionscript to be more efficient. for even younger kids, am considering setting this up so they can move to next frame through any keypress. I know how to set up a certain key, but not ANY key.
I want to create some AS to disable and enable a button.Let's call this ButtonX. I want this button to appear disabled at first, and then allow the user the option of enabling this button(ButtonX) by clicking another button. Let's call this ButtonY. I cannot get this to work. I am attaching the code I am trying. I have this AS added to ButtonY and ButtonX is the instance name for the button I want to de-activate-activate.
I have a row of movie clips which act as buttons with an inactive state, active state, selected state etc. What I am seeking is kind of like a controller button which when clicked will activate or de-activate this row when clicked. I thought the best way might be to set frame labels and add a goto sript for the controller button to make each button go to the activate frame when the controller button is clicked.
Ok so, I have a button called btnEnter and its instance name is enter. Then, I have a movie clip called mcRotatingDot and its instance name is center. These two work so that when the mouse is over the button, the dot blinks. When the mouse is no longer over the button there is a fade in from alpha 0 to 60 of the dot. It all works fine, here is the code that I am using on the movie clip:
onClipEvent (load) { //this sets the initial properties of our clip this._xscale = 75; this._yscale = 75;[code]...........
1)How can I make the movie clip blink with pure action script? And not having to do a stupid tween on the movie clip's timeline.
2)Can a button activate more than one movie clip? Because I am also trying to make the same button (aka. btnEnter, instance name enter) to change the rotation speed of another movie clip to spin faster. Here is the code for the other movie clip called mcRotatingCircle instance name outter:
onClipEvent (load) { //this sets the initial properties of our clip this._xscale = 1000;[code]............
Yet the movie clip will not spin faster on roll over. The only thing that I thought could go wrong is that there is another instance of the same movie clip mcRotatingCircle, named middle on the stage. I tried absolute addressing the outter instance, but it just won't work.

Basically I am trying to link two buttons so that two separate areas activate as one button including with rollovers etc. I am creating a flash application that features a series of tabs along the top of the page that when rolled over, will light up. When clicked on, these tabs will take the user to a different page. My problem is that I have an image on the left hand side of the application that features areas of the image that will take the user to the same place. I wish to link the button rollovers so that when the user rolls over the tab, the image will light up and vice versa. I have been unable to find a solution to this myself - the closest I came was making the area one button, but due to the distance the image and tabs are apart, the whole screen becomes one big button!
I have a class file which prints a flash object. I don't want the print job to activate until a button is clicked. The print activation is a package and referenced by the document class. How would I code this to activate only when a button is pressed/ Currently it activates when the movie is played.
I'm trying to finish off a Flash menu that was done for my website & I'm a bit stuck - New to this game. Basically I have a menu made up of 5 items, each item leads to another list which has a "datefield", "nemericstepper" & "order" button. what I am trying to achieve is when the "order" button is pressed the "date" & "number" information is sent to my existing order page, customers details are then entered in the required fields & this is sent including the "date" & "number" via my existing PHP script to my email.
I've created an animated button in flash cs3, and wanted to bring my work onto a webpage/dreamweaver. HOWEVER, I only want to import the button, NOT the entire SWF file... JUST THE BUTTON... HELP!! I am using dreamwaver cs4, and want to know how, the only thing I know how to do on dreamweaver is bring in the whole movie clip, but this just won't do...
I'm making a website in dreamweaver with flash in it, I want to link an image that I have in flash to another page (.html) that I have in dreamweaver. When I first used flash and dreamweaver I had done it, but honestly now I completely forgot and can't figure it out. I know I didn't use any action scripts. I just put the page name (???.html) somewhere and it worked.
I have created a Flash movie which, when previewed in Flash works perfectly. Flash CS4.I have put this code in at the start:
mysitebtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onMouseClick); function onMouseClick(e:MouseEvent):void { var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest('http://www.example/home.html'); navigateToURL(request,'_self'); } navigateToURL (new URLRequest('http://www.example.html'), '_self');
and a Stop() action on at the end.
Publish with "Loop" in HTML tab is unchecked.
The Loop button is unchecked in Dreamweaver Parameters.
I have a problem where I have declared an onRollOver event handler on frame 5. I also have a button on frame 4 telling flash to go to frame 5.But, if the mouse is already over the movieclip on frame 5, the rollover event will not play.Is there a way to force this onRollOver or another workaround for this?
I am trying to activate a my webcam and run a live stream from it. Im running into problems though. I can get the webcam to turn on(the green light comes on). However, nothing is displayed. I have copied the code i am using to try and achieve this, hopefully its just a simple mistake.I am using Flash Builder 4 to put all this together.
Code: package camera { import flash.display.Sprite; import flash.media.Camera;
Im using the Lightbox 2.0 [URL] And a flash movie in the same page. Now ive got this thumbnail slider in the flashmovie with thumbnails loaded from an xml file. As soon as i hit a thumbnail i want the Lightbox to show the full image of the thumbnail.
I've got everything set up and if i test if the Lightbox works with an html link it works perfectly:
HTML Code: <a href = "path/to/image.jpg" rel="lightbox" title="my Title">Lightbox test</a>
Now my question is how do I call the same action in AS?
I understood the rel attribute refers to both the Lightbox JavaScript and the StyleSheet. But i really dont know how to set the rel attribute in flash.
In my Flash program, I am trying to run a function within an object. The object uses a class called "SkullDemon.as." The function I am trying to run is called "moveSkullDemon();" this function is coded within the "SkullDemon.as" class. My main document class is "TME2d_Main.as." Within that file I create an instance of the Skull Demon class like this:
CS3 on a 2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo Mac running OS X 10.5.8.I have been able to create my webpages and upload them to the host. They are viewable, linkable etc. Everything is working, but now I want to include some flash elements.I built a flash file in action script 3.0 and saved it in the files folder of Dreamweaver, I dragged and dropped the swf file into the design screen and saved it. I have uploaded the html file, the swf and fla files and the created js file to the host server, but the flash element does not appear on the page when I view it in the browser.
I have a YouTube video embedded in my page. It is hidden (display:none). You need to click one of the video link buttons to display the video and play it. The links are defined like this:
It's fundamentally pretty simple! But here's the problem. since the video player is hidden, the flash object is not activated. So when I click a video link, the line ytplayer.style.display = 'block'; displays the video player, but it takes about about half a second for flash to load. During this time it cannot accept any method calls, such as the next line ytplayer.loadVideoById( id, 0, 'hd1080' );. Essentially, I have to click the link twice, once to load up the flash video player, the second time to actually load the video into the player.
I'm working through Dreamweaver fairly well, and I'm now wanted to import Flash buttons I've created myself into Dreamweaver for a website I'm currently building, and it's here that I'm finding the problem. I have been to the 'get URL Function', but it says something about needing to link to a web page? But my problem is how can I link Flash Buttons to a web page, when my site is still being developed and not published? Do I have to publish first?
