ActionScript 2.0 :: AttachMovie Does Not Unload Whatever's On Level 0

Jan 26, 2007

in my movieclip, I have some objects that I have manually inserted (at design time). Then at run-time I call:

mc.attachMovie("box","box1",0)

note that I specify level 0. However, all the objects in the movieclip are still there. I thought they were supposed to be replaced, since they lie on level 0. Is that supposed to happen?So how can I delete whatever's in this movieclip? I also tried mc.clear() but it doesn't work either.

AttachMovie Not Loading On Correct Level?

May 1, 2010

Code:

thumb03.onRelease = function(){
image_holder.loadMovie("images/03.jpg");
submenu01_holder.attachMovie( "submenu01", "submenu01_new",this.getNextHighestDepth());
getURL("./htm/03.html", "tracker");
};

So I'm working on a portfolio and I'm trying to load an image with a submenu on top of it that will let you click through a couple different related images. However, right now the submenu keeps loading underneath the image, so the buttons are there and you can see it a split second before the other image loads over the top. I tried manually putting in levels for the image and submenu and no luck.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Unload A .swf From A Different Movie Level?

Apr 18, 2010

I have an index.swf that loads the following movies.

loadMovieNum("home.swf", 4);
loadMovieNum("home_2.swf", 53);
loadMovieNum("help.swf", 50);
loadMovieNum("glossary.swf", 26);
loadMovieNum("Resources.swf", 27);

Is there a way to unload the home_2.swf from the index page when a button is clicked on the home.swf?

Home_2.swf is sort of a splash animation that plays over the navigation panel and then sits on the side so when any of the nav buttons are clicked on in level 4 .swf I want the level 53 .swf to unload.

ActionScript 1/2 :: OnLoad Working At _root Level But Not At Mc_target Level?

Aug 26, 2010

I have two layers in my FLA both with empty movie clips as follows:In mc_Empty1, I attach a faded background movieclip as I wait for mc_Empty2 to load a SWF.  Once the SWF is loaded into mc_Empty2, I want to remove the faded background movieclip from mc_Empty1.  When I load the SWF from the main timeline, the onLoad() function works and removes the faded background from mc_Empty1.  However, when I load the SWF from mc_target, the SWF loads, but the onLoad() function does not.  Here's my AS2 code:

//Loading SWF from main timeline
mc_Empty1.attachMovie("mcFadedBg", "mc_FadedBg", 1);
mc_Empty2.loadMovie("My.swf");mc_Empty2.onLoad = function():Void{    trace("loaded"); //This works    removeMovieClip(mc_Empty1.mc_FadedBg); //This works}

[code]....

I know I'm targeting properly because the SWF loads as it should, but the onLoad() function does not.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Application Level Vs Document Level Class Paths?

Oct 2, 2010

This is making me a little kooky today. I thought I could defined a library path in PREFERENCES > ACTIONSCRIPT > ACTIONSCRIPT 3.0 SETTINGS then that library would be available to all AS3 FLA files, but that doesn't seem to work for me. If I use the PUBLISH SETTINGS and define the library path everything is fine.

Is there something that I could have done to disable the application level class path functionality? I guess I'm trying avoid having to set the library path for every new FLA I'm making.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Load Swf From Third Level Into Container In First 'home' Level

Dec 26, 2011

I'm doing a bigger aplication in flash (as2).Image, there is a main "home" flash with several menu buttons.Clicking these buttons, I load external swf into an empty container in this "home" flash.[code]clicking buttons in this second level, will load external movies into an empty container in this SECOND LEVEL swf.This works fine, but now, coming to the THIRD LEVEL (don't think there will be more in the future) problems come up, some scripts won't work.Now (I'm a as2-beginner) I think, loading external swf ALLWAYS into containers in the first "Home" flash should solve the problem.But I don't know, how to load an swf from the third level into a container in the first "home" level.In the "home" level, I have a "close" button, that will unload the container content.I need to go to a certain scene "content_2" in the home swf, too.

Calling A Swf From1st Level To Go From 3rdlevel To 2nd Level

Dec 2, 2009

I have called main.swf into a container in index.swf.

myMCL.loadClip("main.swf","container"); is an action on my Index.fla timeline.

I have my navigation on index. (i wanted it to go on main, but the nature of the animation meant it had to go on index)

I need to call "home.swf" into "main.swf" from the navigation button in Index.swf.

When I had the navigation on "main.swf" this was my code to call "home.swf" into the page.

on (release) {
Preloader_mc.gotoAndStop("home");
}

("home") is the label name where the preloader is for home.swf

how to call the preloader for home into main.swf from "INDEX.SWF INSTEAD OF MAIN.SWF"

ActionScript 3.0 :: Unload The Previous Loaded .swf And Load The New .swf Without Having A Separate Button To Unload

I am working on a school project that requires me to load external .swf or .jpg files. I currently have all of the buttons working and are loading an external .swf file on to the screen. The problem I am having is that when I go from one button to the next the loaded .swf stays on the screen and the next .swf gets loaded on top of it. I know that I need to unload the file but I am not sure where to put the code for the unload or what code exactly to use. I would like when the button is pressed to unload the previous loaded .swf and load the new .swf without having a separate button to unload.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Crossdomain Policy File On Root Level Cannot Be Deployed On Root Level?

Jan 14, 2009

Situation:

- We have a Flash application located on a SAP EP (let's say ep.x.com)

- We have a SAP ABAP Application (Webservices) on a SAP WebAS
server (abap.x.com)

- Clarification: This is not about Flash islands / but a normal Flash application communicating with WebAS ABAP via WebServices

Problem: Due to the changed security policy in Flash 10 this scenario does no longer work.

- A crossdomain policy file on root level cannot be deployed on root level

- The WebServices http/s headers cannot be modified, since the WebServices are generated by the WebAS IDE.

Comment: Technically there is a way to patch a WebAS ABAP,but this is not a practical / acceptable way in a normal SAP WebAS infrastructure.

Conclusion:- The above scenario (Flash from EP content / WebAS ABAP as backend) is a quite normal scenario in the SAP world.

- SAP / Adobe always features the close relationship between their technologies.

Question:- What could we do?

- How does the Visual Composer works around that problem?

AS2 - Target An AttachMovie Mc?

May 14, 2009

Through attachMovie I have loaded an mc from the library onto the stage into "holder_mc".

myButton.onRelease = function () {
if (currentWork != "holder_mc.myWork1_mc") {
holder_mc.attachMovie("myWork_mc","myWork1_mc", getNextHighestDepth());
currentWork = "holder_mc.myWork1_mc";
}
}

This works.

However, there are a couple of buttons (mc) inside "myWork1_mc" which skips through a few slides in the myWork1_mc clip that I cannot target. I thought using:

holder_mc.myWork1_mc.buttonName_mc.onRelease = function () {
trace("MC_pressed");
}

... would work. My curser doesn't even change to the hand symbol. How do I target an dymanically loaded MC from the library which is inside an empty holder MC on the stage via attachMovie? What am i missing? Believe me, I have spent hours trying to google it.

Note: at this stage there is no other script on "holder_mc", but there will be at a later date, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. Also, the buttons work when I place the MC onto the stage and not use attachMovie.

ActionScript 2.0 :: CS3 MC AttachMovie In Scrollpane

Oct 8, 2009

for (i=0; i<policy.length; i++) {
newOpt = Stocklist_MC.attachMovie('Option', 'Option'+i, i);

I've got a ScrollPane on the root stage. This loads a MC called 'Stocklist_MC' (this also has a linkage/export name of 'Stocklist_MC'). When I try to use '.attachMovie' to the movieclip (Stocklist_MC) inside the ScrollPane nothing appears. All the AS is on frame 1 of root. Everything works when I use '.attachMovie' with _root. for (i=0; i<policy.length; i++) { newOpt = _root.attachMovie('Option', 'Option'+i, i); Also, if I drag Stocklist_MC to the stage I get everything working but list gets cut off at bottom, which is the reason why I need it in a scrollPane.

ActionScript 2.0 :: AttachMovie Not Working The On Web?

Aug 24, 2010

I've been battling this project, and finally got it all wrapped up and working, and was feeling pretty proud of myself, and then I went and posted the exact same .swf on the web and it doesn't work anymore.Specifically, there are a bunch of icons which are placed into the FloorMC which then attachMovie a copy of themselves into a LegendMC and UtilityRefMC, but they dont seem to be attaching anything when I run it through a browser.[URL](I'd love to attach the swf and fla to this message, so you could take a look at those, but apparently that would be crazy.) thought perhaps it had to do with me using _root, but I went through and changed them all out to _globals and _parents and it still no likey. Furthermore the Comment Box in the bottom left gets triggered by _root commands form all sorts of different levels, and it seems to work fine, both on the web and off.

Use A Variable Within An AttachMovie Statement?

Sep 11, 2009

What I'm trying to do is simply this:

<variable> = mvcShip
var ship1 = _root.attachMovie( <variable>, shipName + _root.getNextHighestDepth(), _root.getNextHighestDepth() );

What i am trying to attempt here is to make the variable equal to the name of an item in my library. (Im using this to use different ships in an old arcade-style vertical shooter).  This is meant to make a ship appear on stage.

When <variable> is replaced with a library item (eg. mvcShip), it works fine, but if the variable is in place, i get a trace value of ship1 as "undefined", and the ship doesnt show up on the stage.

ActionScript 2.0 :: AttachMovie External Swf?

Apr 17, 2005

I am trying to revise the very first flash project I ever did and it's become a complicated mess. I have created an interactive atlas. I am using my favorite map zooming and panning tools supplied by Senocular which can be found here: http:[url].....For the panning/zooming/drawBox tool to work the map features must be buried deep within several movieclips. There is one level at which you can put buttons that aren't effected by the code for the panning/zooming etc. Buttons have to go on this level or higher if you want them to work.

The way my atlas is set up - there is a main interface that has these tools plus the menu system. The menu (xml; created by Lost and Sen - brilliant, thank you) loads in two external swfs - one is the map itself and the other is a set of "controls" for that particular map (radio buttons, check boxes, text links, etc.).I have a couple of external swfs that have buttons on them that do things when you roll over and off them. If I have these buttons sitting on the map then when it gets loaded into the main interface they no longer work. So I am trying to use attachMovie to attach them to an MC within the zooming tools in the main interface at a level they can be active.But it's not working.I am guessing it's because the code to attach them is being fired before the external can be loaded into the interface. So I'm not really sure where to fire the attachMovie code. Does it go with the external? Does it go with the controls for the external?

I can supply code if needed though like I said, this file is a mess. There are 15 external maps with 15 "control" files. Plus the main interface, plus some other miscellaneous files.
