ActionScript 2.0 :: Button Inside Movieclip To Play Another Moviclip?

i already create one main movieiclip(index_mc),including menu button to link multiple movieclip, which is containt: aboutus_mc, story_mc and gallery_mc. all button in index_mc run perfectly.
In gallery_mc i've made thumbnail mc (btnthumb1_mc, btnthumb2_mc,btnthumb3) which inside already has button(btn1,btn2,btn3) to show large images in movieclip (largeimages_mc) which is large images contain several jpeg
the problem thumbnail as button cant link to show largeimages_mc, and i already put as2 in button, which is:

So, in my base flash file I have movieclips playing inside of a container.
They are cued from external .swf files.
When one is pushed another checks to see if that movie is at its "midframe" and then plays the remainder of that movie before playing the movie that was pushed.
ALL OF THIS, works fine. The problems is that I have a button inside of these movieclips that I need to play the remainder of the movie to then return to the main menu.
This is the code on the buttons which cycle through the movieclips:
on (release) {
if (_root.currMovie == undefined) {
_root.currMovie = "illustration";
container.loadMovie(illustration);

If I wanted the movie to only return to to the main menu I could use this code, but it's flawed for two reasons:
on(release){
_root.gotoAndPlay(1);
}
a. This doesn't play the rest of the movie before returning to the main menu.
b. Once it returns you to the main menu, none of the other movies will play again.

i am trying to develop a small interactive game using as3.i need to play a movieclip when i 'll click on button. Anybody knows simple way for that.I'm trying this way: i have created a class for that movieclip, then i have created a object of that and then i m tring to call that object in this way.

I can get the movieclips into the container movieclip, but they're supposed to float around within the boundaries of container movieclip
Unfortunatly they just float off stage.

My question is fairly simple, but I can't find a sollution. I have a button, and I want to play a movieclip inside a movieclip from the main stage. It is the 5th frame inside the movieclip 'page' from the movieclip 'book'. I have this, but it doesn't seem to work.

I have a button inside another button which is inside a movieclip. *whew*I have it so that when you click on the movieclip, a dialog box pops up. I have two buttons on the dialog box, but for some reason you can't click on them and when you do, the dialog box just disappears. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about, so how do i get the "YES/NO" buttons to work? Oh, the buttons are not included in that Graphic

i have a movieclip named mc. it has a color of
r=255
b=0
g=0
a=70%
i have 3 buttons that when i click i need the moviclip mc to tween to a different color. so when i click button a i want it to tween to the new color:
r=255
b=255
g=0
a=70%
if i click button b it tweens from this new color to a different color:
r=51
b=102
g=204
a=70%
etc. etc.

I have a button inside a movieclip, to which I would like to apply a rollover function. When rolled over, this button (inside MOVIECLIP 1) would make (MOVIECLIP 2) jump to second frame. Can a button play a movieclip if it lives within another movieclip? Let me explain: Buttons in a map key ran route animations on the map. Code for button (accessed by selecting button and F9) ..reads : on (release) { gotoAndPlay("BusRoute_375");}

All layers and consequently all route movieClips that relate to the map as well as the stop codes for the individual route animations now reside within that MovieClip which sits on a new layer above the map key layer. However, the key buttons no longer run the route animations. What should be done so that when clicked they still play the route MovieClips. Its like the button code cant see the layers it once refered to, now that they are in a movieclip.

is there anyway to have a button play frames 5-10 on a movie clip inside the current frame, as well as skipping to...lets say...frame 10 of the scene?
i want to create a site where buttons go to different pages, but those pages have animations in and out.so if someone is in one page, and clicks a button to go to another, that page plays the "out" animation while the other page plays the "in" animation.

I'm adding a MovieClip with with the following code in the main timeline:

I want to use a button inside that movieclip to link to an external web page. I was able to do that with dot notation if the movieclip was "fisically" in the main timeline but this way doesn't work.

I've got a movieClip with some Actionscript applied to it (to make it rotate, stop onMouseOver, and continue onMouseOut).Now, I basically want a button inside that movie clip - applied to the object that's spinning.Whenever I put the button inside the movieClip, Flash doesn't recognise it. I'm trying to add an event listener to a button inside a movieclip. I have a movieclip called MainMenuGraphic that I get from the .fla library, and inside that movie clip is a button named btnNew. I have made a sort of drop down menu of a movieclip. There are actually two, the first one named list_over_mc is only to detect when the mouse is in the area for when to drop down the menu (onRollOver) and the other one, list_mc, is holding the menu itself. The problem is that when the menu is down nothing happens when I click the button (now named knapp1_btn). I have tried with another but with the same sort of script (but placed outside of the movieclip list_over_mc) and that works so I'm guessing it is because the button is "over" the other movieclip.

I've basicly made a rollover menu which is nested inside a movieclip. the movieclip is put on 1 st. frame on the main timeline and I want the buttons inside the movie clip to take the user to a different frame on the main timeline, but no matter what I do it's just not working... here is some of he solutions i have tried to do:
