The problem is that all the syntax I have found for targetting clips looks like this: _root.sample_mc.sample2.mc. etc. The problem is, my target clip is in an swf that I've loaded into a container clip from my main timeline. So, essentially, I have a home.swf that loads menu.swf into a container called 'location'. In menu.swf, I have an MC called center, which contains the MC I am targetting called 'target'.

Jan 12, 2012I cant figure out how to unload a movie clip. I thought i knew how, but its not working and i've tried everything i can think of.I'm loading an external swf like this:[code]This works fine. It loads an external swf that plays a youtube video. However, whenever i click on my navigation buttons to go to another page (basically another movieclip in teh _root level, it does not unload the youtube player and it keeps playing. Further more, if i go back to that page, the youtube player loads again and starts repeating itself.I thought by adding the following code to all my navigational buttons, the youtube player would unload, but it doesn't:[code]

Apr 8, 2012I created a movie clip which plays ok. But when it ends there is a slight jump, if you will, when it goes back to frame 1 to begin playing again. Does anyone know how to make the transition unnoticeable from the last frame of a movie clip to the first frame of a movie clip?

Inside the production.swf files I've created a gallery with a MovieClip that loads from my library to a container1 inside the production.swf. In the galleryMC(from library), Ive created a close button to unload it from the container1. It works fine from my production.swf file, but when it loads to the main page it doesn't unload. This is the ActionScript that I have to unload the Movie Clip.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Make Movie Clip Container Draw A Box Behind The Image?
Jul 28, 2009I am trying to create a gallery where the thumbnails scroll across the bottom and when you click on the thumb a new large image opens up on top of it from the same image.
What i would like to do is open up the large image but draw a box around this image so it blanks out the background of the site and all you see is that picture.

Aug 28, 2008I have some buttons that load an external flash file into the container movie clip with this code:

So it plays the tweening out animation of the file that's already loaded, then loads the new file, playing the tweening in animation. However, currently the container movie clip is empty when the flash movie is played. I want to be able to have some content already loaded in it, but when I use the container .loadMovie("start.swf") code, it just keeps loading start.swf into it when any of the other buttons are clicked. Is there a way I can have content load when the flash movie is started, but when any of the buttons are clicked, for it to tween out, and basically, never reappear?

I have similar code on button two and this does indeed make the buttons move into place as required. My problem is this, I need to load in external swf files into an empty movie clip on the main stage called container. These External SWF files have transitions and this is where my problem is. If I place a normal button on the stage it works but not if the button is inside a movie clip and has actions applied as above. The code next is what I have believe should also be placed on the button to make swf transition one load in.

It's not working. No errors, no nothing, but the textFields don't show up when I run it.

I am able to load the data into in Flash and parse it, but I haven't been able to figure out how to load the names of buttons from separate nod values into a textfield.Unfortunately, I dont feel I know AS3 well enough and am a little bit rusty on my AS2.I created a movie clip which holds the dynamic textfield and placed 30 instances on the stage. Each instance is successively named "cityName[i]" where i is a number from 1-30. I've tried setting the instances as both buttons and movie clips. I also tried setting both the .text and.htmlText attributes, but neither works. Ive embedded the fonts on the dynamic text field. Ive also tried changing the field to input instead of dynamic but that doesnďwork either. Ive been tracing things to try to debug, but havenď found the issue yet.Here's the code:

Create A Movie Clip And Place Other Movie Clips Inside Of It?

At step four, it says to
4- Inside another Movie Clip named "Limits" place "Pads" and "Wall". Pads' instance name should be "Pads" and Wall's instance named "Border". We put the Wall and Pads inside the same Movie Clip, to use it to know when the ball collided. And we couldn't put everything together because the ball behaves different if hits the Wall instead of the Pads.
How do I create this movie clip and put the other movie clips "inside it"? Also, if anyone can find out, where do I put this movie clip? Do i put it at the same spot as the wall?

Say I have created all the common components of my webpage, which will be the same across all pages e.g. header, footer, navbar etc. Each of these are there own individual movieclip. The only part of each webpage which changes will be the center content. Should I select all the common components movieclips, and create one movieclip out of them all? Is this common practice or should I keep them separate?
