How do i change content on a page each time a user visits or refreshes the page? example: the icon on kirupas header changes when the page is refreshed or re loaded. I have searched using dynamic content, but didn't quite find it...I only want to change 1 image..
Is it just me or is it true that once you create a symbol and set the registration point you can't ever change it? unless you make it into a new symbol?
Let me ask how to program an html page to move to a new web page on user's clicking an item of an embedded flash movie? But , in detail, I actually want to do a little different thing. I want that the parent html page remains there ,instead I want a child html frame has a new page after user's clicking the list item of the embedded flash movie.
I've created a product registration form for my website and the basics of it work fine, ie when I click submit the info successfully gets e-mailed to me. I'd like to expand the functionality of it, however. As is, I get an e-mail regardless if any of the fields are filled in or not. I'd like for users to be directed to an error page when the e-mail field is blank and a thank you page otherwise. How would I do this? I imagine it can either be done directly in flash or would the php instruct the browser to navigate to the error or thank you page? Key is I don't want the form to be submitted if the email is blank.
I've been reading a lot about the benefits of Object Pooling. Found some "tutorials" online, all above my skill level. Can anyone please show me an extremely simple example of an Object Pool. What my game does is creates Ball objects when the user holds down the mouse, stops when user lifts up mouse. I need to store these Ball objects in an array(or Vector), and hit test them with other objects, removing them from the stage when the hit another object. I'd like to create a pool of say 20 of so, created once, and recycle them.
I know this cant be too difficult, but please entertain me I want to create a button on my web page for zoom in and out (the whole web page).
In IE you can achieve this by doing the following - "Press and hold the contol button and then press the - (minus) button (Ctrl -)." or click on the view option at the top of the browser>>zoom>>zoom out.
So I am successfully able to send variabls from Flash to PHP, but I am still unable to figure out how to send the USER to the php page along with their variables. The reason I want to do this is because the PHP script in question spits out a bunch of text to the user based off the variables sent to it from flash.
Right now, when the user clicks the submit button in flash it sends the variables to flash ok, but to the user, they just continue to sit idly on the flash page, even though it no longer serves a purpose. So I guess my question is, how can I get flash to send the user AND their data to the php script when they click the submit button?
I would like to specify which page a user is on by having the button on the rollover state. For example, on the products page, I would like the products button to be in the rollover state. I can't figure out how I would do this. Below is the code from the as file.
I want to have an application where the user click on a movieclip, and is then taken to a another page. What I need is the code so as a user clicks a moviceclip (for example MC_1) it holds a variable (say = 1), as the movieclip is pushed a movie plays which at the ends checks for the variable change and then re-directs the user some where?

//variables used to send data to server for processing var scriptRequest2:URLRequest = new URLRequest("qm-results.php"); var scriptLoader2:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); var scriptVars2:URLVariables = new URLVariables();
I have 2 versions of the same code, both to make 3 simple buttons work to move the timeline to a keyframe to change the page for user navigation. What is the difference? Is one way better than the other?
HTML Code: stop(); var button1:SimpleButton; var button2:SimpleButton; var button3:SimpleButton; function handleCLICK( pEvent:MouseEvent):void { [Code] .....
i have a flash banner with navigation and want the flash to keep track of what page the user is on in order to give the user some kind of indication of where they are.ALSO i want the banner to animate / do some stuff ONLY on first visit to the site, i.e. if they navigate away from the site or close their browser window i want some kind of variable to reset so it will replay the animation on next visit.
how or where i could learn about embeded links. In other word, i want to generate a link that will send the user to a page where my swf will be, therefore nobody can come and get the source of my file or even decomplile it.
My client wants a click tracker. They want the kiosk flash projector to track the cumulative clicks a page receives. They are referencing the use of a third party software using actionscript sharedobject to identify the clicks.
Is there a way for a Flash Facebook app in an iFrame to detect if the user is a fan of the page using the Graph API for Actionscript 3? If not can I achieve the same goal using Javascript? without asking the user for permission (no access token required).
Just curious to know if its possible. I have a nav that is in flash and will be in many .asp pages. Could a corresponding button in the nav stay highlighted to represent where a user is by detecting what page it is on?

I can't set a picture as a user-created page wallpaper and i also cant "like" this same page using a Facebook Desktop Graph API request.how to use the Facebook Graph API for AS3 to change the wallpaper on a user created page and also set the "like" status for that page of a user? I have a Flash AS 3.0 swf-based browser game. It's hosted on my site and communicates with a MySQL database via PHP using Flash's URLVariables. Everything works fine. The problem is, I want to be able to save the player's game after he leaves the webpage or closes his browser. How is this usually handled?
Is there a reliable event that fires when a swf is terminated? Is so, what is it? If not, what's the solution? Should I simply save the player's data every x seconds? That seems like it will bog down my server. I could have 10,000 people playing and I don't want to save each of their games every x seconds.
When the page loads, the first menu button (PORTFOLIO) is automatically OnClick. I want the user to be able to rollover it and click it when the page loads. I attached my file.

I have a scroll pane component with SWFs loaded in them vertically like a PDF viewer. I need to be able to change the page indicator when the user scrolls. I have an event listener on the scroll pane listening for scroll. I have an array of the Y values of each page; looks something like this: 0,800,1600,2400,3200 etc What kind of equation would I do to determine the correct number. My scroll event looks like this:
I am trying to create a page transition that will play a movieCLip transition into a page. and then it stops then when another button is pressed, it will play that transition out while loading the appropriate one. In the attached FLA, if you click on the red button first, the blue transition plays,
it works correctly/ Playing out of the blue Transition and into the Red transition. However if I click it again it does the opposite, and just keep alternating.
If I add the
_root.transitionClip2.play("out");
to the first button then, nothing works right. I will eventually have more buttons, and may need to use a variable to control which "out" transitions is played, but how do I get the buttons to do this?I just want it to exit the current movie clip and play the "in" section of the desired clip.
I have my main swf embedded into a html page, and what I want is that when a user selects a certain button it unloads my main swf and loads up a different one in the same HTML page.
