Nov 12, 2006I started creating a site using the Smooth Transition tutorial and came upon a problem and would like to ask for some advice. I was able to go through the tutorial without any problems. I than moved my button(s) to an external swf file that gets called. No problem here as well, i just added a _root. to a few places.
Now in this swf, I have a mc and in this mc i placed the button but it stopped working. I didn't think the path would be any different but I was wrong. Here is the current AS I have with the button in the external swf's main timeline:

ActionScript 3.0 :: Creating Interactive Menu - Transition Tween
Dec 10, 2011I'm new to Actionscript 3.0 and I want to create an interactive menu. On the left as I hover over the button "products" I want a sub menu to come into view (as seen in the graphic below). I've created all the graphics but there are a lot of translation issues.
Here is the code I've used:

"productsSub_mc" is the sub menu I created as a movie clip. Within that movie clip is another button labeled "videos". When I run the preview, I get the following error:

Sep 17, 2009I want to know how to create a tween so that at start of it my movieclip called myBox will be at say 6 blur on the x and y. Then at end of tween it is at 0. And I need to be able to say how long it goes for. I have a tween already that makes it move, that was easy but making it blur as well isn't easy. How to do this?

May 18, 2010i have a flex app that transitions between 2 states with the toggle of a button. my issue is that the effect of fading only seems to work on the 2nd transition and after. However, for my first transition... going from State1 to studyState... there is no fade effect whatsoever, in fact the components in state1 disappear completely (the footer fills the empty gap where the "body" use to be) and then the flex recreates the studyState (without any fade refilling the "body" with components only in studyState). After this first transition however, going between studyState and State1 working COMPLETELY fine.. why does this happen and how can i make it so that crossfade works STARTING FROM THE VERY FIRST TRANSITION?[code]

A person will enter their name into this text box (which I've called "nameInput") and then click the next button to proceed through the quiz.However, when I get to the results page I cannot figure out how to get the input name to be displayed automatically in the dynamic text box (which is called "nameOutput") when the user enters the frame.

Jul 1, 2009I'm creating a movie with a swift flies quickly across screen, but in playback it always appears as if there are two or three swifts flying together almost on top of one another, a sort of stuttering effect in the playback. I've tried altering frame rate/frame number ratio; tried viewing the swf file in the external movie player, but nothing seems to improve it.
Is this lack of smoothness a basic problem in Flash with moving objects, or is it something to do with my Flash preferences, or even my computer settings? What are the standard ways to try and increase smoothness of playback in Flash?.

Oct 11, 2011I have read the various posts here on SO regarding screen capturing, but none seem to be answering my situation.On our website (inside a web page), essentially here is what I would like to be able to do.
User clicks on a 'capture region of screen' button.They get some sort of draggable/sizable box they can use to define the area to capture the captured area gets converted into a (preferrably) .png image is uploaded (or at least made available to upload - maybe saved somewhere).I realize this is not doable with javascript alone.So,I am open to a Java or Flash solution, and/or even a commercial solution (a drop-in java applet that I can add to our site).
ActionScript 2.0 :: Create A Page Transition That Will Play A MovieCLip Transition Into A Page?
Apr 23, 2010I am trying to create a page transition that will play a movieCLip transition into a page. and then it stops then when another button is pressed, it will play that transition out while loading the appropriate one. In the attached FLA, if you click on the red button first, the blue transition plays,

and then stops on the stage. When you click the green button second,

_root.transitionClip.play("out");
_root.transitionClip2.play();

it works correctly/ Playing out of the blue Transition and into the Red transition. However if I click it again it does the opposite, and just keep alternating.
If I add the
_root.transitionClip2.play("out");
to the first button then, nothing works right. I will eventually have more buttons, and may need to use a variable to control which "out" transitions is played, but how do I get the buttons to do this?I just want it to exit the current movie clip and play the "in" section of the desired clip.

Oct 11, 2009i have looked everywhere for a tutorial on this - i have tried writing, and re-writing codes....i just cant get it. is there any tutorial i overlooked? here is what im looking to do - NO SHORTCUTS: have my main file that loads the buttons, my external swf container, my intro animations, and my swf "out" and "in" animations when a button is clicked i want it to point me to specific frame labels. i will have an "out" and "in" frame label and which will be the locations of the transitional starting points i want it to play the "out" transition, than unload the current swf, than play the in transition, than load the swf of the button that was clicked i want the animations to all be done using frame labels all within the MAIN swf file.... i have had no luck doing this....and i do NOT like the tween class....

Jan 26, 2006i am working on movie clip that will change dimensions ( width and height ) depending on the loaded picture size .I made an easing transformation and works fine.

I think that it will be much more flashy if I make this transformation bouncy or elastic .I started by searching for tutorials but most of them were about elastic scaling (the shape is changing as one peace )But nothing about sizing , I mean putting a specific value for width and height .

Jun 3, 2009I'm currently creating a navigation bar for a project using flash cs4, action script 3.
As you can see in the picture there is a navigation bar, and inside this bar there is a small rectangle and two lines (located at the first located at x=25 and the second x=555).
I want the rectangle to follow the mouse but be slightly delayed (elastic?).. Another requirement is that rectangle only moves on the x axis and therefore the y axis doesn't change(it is y=68), but doesn't move further than the two lines. The rectangle is a movie clip and its name is 'rectangle'
I pretty much want it exactly the same as this [URL] except the ball can only move on the x-axis and in between the two lines.

And I'm not talking about those nifty effects where the line twists, and flexes when it bounces back to it's original size, I'm stuffed just with making a straight line have an elastic feel.Here's what I want to do.Have the bottom of the line anchored, and the top part linked to an object which I can move with the mouse. Moving that object will not only stretch or shrink the line, but it would also change it's angle based on where the object is.

Nov 14, 2009I'm trying to develop a simple elastic menu in AS3. I have a class named "menu" to create a vertical menu with n elements using a MovieClip from the library. It is linked properly as "base_primaria" and with MovieClip class as base class. Every element in the menu is in button mode and when is clicked calls a method (crearsub) to create a submenu. I have another class named "submenu" that creates a submenu with n elements using a MovieClip from the library. It is linked properly as "base_secundaria" and with MovieClip class as base class.
All the elements in the main menu must be relocated depending on the .y position and their .height. For that I'm using a method inside "menu" class named "posicionar". To animate the elements I use TweenLite. The first problem is I want to relocate all the elements through TweenLite and it is not working. Probably the "posicionar" function is wrong. The second problem is I want to click in one element from the main menu and it creates its own submenu. If there is one element with a submenu created, it must to disappear. All the elements must to relocate in real time in every click.
