View 2 Repliesi dont think my title made much sense...but here is my question/problem in this flash thing im creating. So, last time my problem was loading the swf into the right level...and it got solved and i figured it out Basically, I'm loading a swf into my main movie, and that loaded movie needs to send important variables to a php script. Those important vars can only be found in the main movie. And so far, the loaded movie is in level9, and I don't want to change that. The important variable name is "id".

2 movie clips MC1 and MC2 . MC2 is placed inside MC1. both the movie clips are having rollover effect. the issue is roll over effect is experienced only for the outer movie clip MC1 but no effect when hover through MC2.

So, the rotation works for one image, "the number 12" and rotates a new copy of itself every 30 degrees. But how do i get it so that every 30 degrees, a new image is placed at that angle? Therefore "12" then 30 degrees "1" etc.

I'm using AS3 to place movieclips onto Flash's stage...

Currently when the player moves their cursor over the movie clips that AS3 is placing on the stage, they disappear. However the movie clip is not actually removed from the stage, it simply plays to a blank frame in its timeline to give this illusion. How do I tell Flash to remove the movie clip from the stage rather than just give the illusion that it is gone?
When the player moves their cursor over the movie clips that AS3 is placing, I want the movie clip that is attached to the cursor to gotoAndPlay certain frames of its timeline.

They are being attached to the root timeline, but I want to put all of the actionscript inside a movieclip called "menu1_mc". I am having some trouble with the proper syntax, because when I move the code inside of the movieclip, I can't get them to attach to the stage unless I still reference _root. I'd like them to attach at (0,0) of the menu1_mc movieclip.

I tried all suggestions from the dreamweave forums and none worked.I am placing a CS4 swf movie into dreamweaver CS4 and when I preview in firefox I can't get rid of the 1 pixel white border.Have tried all settings, including setting the wmode parameters to transparentBorder set to 0, frame set to 'top', image set to top.If I change the background of the frame to blue for example, I get a 1 pixel blue line. I believe the problem is in dreamweaver.How do I fix this?

I'm sorry if this post breaks forum conventions, but I searched and didn't find a solution in past posts.
I'm writing a function that highlights components of the animation I've created.
It does this by creating a white box on top of the entire stage, tweening it's alpha value from 0 to 80, and creating a new instance of the movie clip to be highlighted on top of that white box.
I run into a problem when I need to highlight components that are movie clips nested within ones on the top/root level.
When I duplicate instances of nested movie clips, they just exist within the movie they were nested in.
I want to pull those duplicated, nested movie clips into the root area so it rests on top of that white box I just mentioned. How do I take a nested movie clip and pull it out of it's parent onto the top/root level?
I'm loading an external image into an empty actionscript movie clip (holder1) using MovieClipLoader(); on frame one of my movie and is invisible. Then when the movie plays, there is an empty movie clip symbol (image1_mc) that is placed manually on the stage within another movie clip symbol (flash_mc), and is also on a bottom layer of a mask layer which is animated. Is it possible to place "holder1" inside of "image1_mc" so that I can treat it as if it were an embedded image? In other words, have the image in "holder1" inside of the manually placed movie clip symbol "image1_mc" so that I can use it like a regular symbol on the stage?

Does anyone know the code for finding the global positioning of X & Y co-ordinates of a click of a button which is constantly rotating, and then secondly the code for when you click on the button it displays a movie clip on top of it -(position of x & y when clicked) at the angle that you clicked it,so underneath the buttons are still rotating so other people can click them where they are?

I am developing a multiple choice question answer. I have a movie clip in frame 2 where the radio buttons and question choices are displayed.I am trying to define a event for the radio button in the movie clip's first frame. But i show questions in random order. Say for example the first question to show is fifth I move the movieclip to 5th frame. The event is not firing since it is declared in the first frame.Should i place the button event code in each and every single frame or is there anyother option for this.

View 5 RepliesI recently used the loadMovie action to load a .swf file to a target in the movie which it was being called from. Then I tried calling a picture to another target in the movie, but it did not load the picture as intended. I read about it on my book, but it didn't seem to work. Is there anyways on calling a picture into a target in the movie without placing the picture inside an swf file?

I have the table and the instance ready but I do not know how to display them onto the right textbox. For example if red dice roll and one and white dice roll a two I hope selec12.text=3. It displays a game over message at a certain time. but if let's say the enemy that killed me is at the exact place where the game over message is the enemy will freeze over the message and obscure it. Is there a simple piece of code that will make it so the message is always on top?
I have 3 containers on stage holding various buttons but these containers are created in seperate Class files....I want to place the 1 container over the top of another container similar to the way I use addChildAt to specify depths.....is there an easy way to do so?

I'm importing and playing an external FLV in my movie using the FLVPlayback component and providing captioning for it using the FLVPlaybackCaptioning component. It's working great. (CS5, AS3, Windows 7)
By default the captioning box plays directly on top of the FLVPlayback Component. I want to separate them, so for instance, i can put content (images and such) in between the Playback component and the caption box.
I have played some more with Flash and come upon something that i would know more about.I tried to make:A scene. when I click the left mouse button on the stage an object(from the librery [graphic]) will be place exactly where the mouse is.I did not really know how to approach this, but tried anyways.

I need to place a div tag above literally everything else on the page. I've read that setting wmode param to opaque will do it, but also heard that that will only effect IE.
