i am learning AS 3.0 at present using FlashDevelop which is really nice to use. I've created to arrays using the following code
...
now, everytime i do the following myArray. and the methods appear, i can clearly see them. However, when i do it with the latter ie youArray. nothing appears, not even one method. why it does not show the methods when i do the latter method.
(Using Flash Pro 8). Currently, I just need to execute a simple show/hide function that is controlled with a key. Currently, I have a circle movieclip with this coding attached to it:
Actionscript Code: onClipEvent(keyDown){ if (Key.isDown(Key.RIGHT)) _root.circle._visible = true;}onClipEvent(keyDown){ if (Key.isDown(Key.RIGHT)) _root.circle._visible = false;}
And on the first frame of the timeline, I have this code ( so that it is visible = false to begin with ): Actionscript Code: _root.circle._visible = false;
Now, my problem is that when pressing the RIGHT key on the keyboard, it reveals the circle, but when it is pressed again, I want it to hide the circle again. Obviously there's a conflict between false and visible, but I don't yet know how to tell flash to make the distinction that the RIGHT key has already been hit once. Is there some kind of 'listener' or something?
I am working on a display that starts with a centered logo and menu. When one of the menu items is clicked I move the logo and menu to the left side and show a datagrid on the right. Is there a way to use an easing function to make this change look better?
i am new to this and i need to put a simple picture show an a web page, i need it to work like a powerpoint presentation but also needs buttons that you can roll your mouse over and have the slide that is associated with it come back up and also need to be able to click it to bring it back and stay on the screen for a longer period of time.
I'm using the Alert.show in a function and I want to get the user answer from there. So how can I achieve this. The problem is the function that call Alert.show will return a true or false value depend the user answer.but It seem that in Alert.show it only allow to pass in a CloseHandler for this. that is a new function. and since that I can get the user answer from where it is call to return the user answer.
I have a button that triggers the function addToBet on a card game and doesn't allow the textfileds to show any larger number but I can't top the clips with the coins I'm trying to attach. The function showBet keeps running.
im trying to do is have a button that shows an animation (created by a duplicateMovieClip function) with onRollOver and stops the animation with onRollOut. It works when i roll over and it stops when i roll out, but then it continues in a loop up to the point where i rolled out (instead of cutting off completely as i would like). Id be extremely grateful if you could tell me where im going wrong.

I'm fairly new to ActionScript and was wondering if anyone had an idea how this effect was done:..Click on a show date and the link zooms up and fills the screen giving show info. Then when you click the back button it shrinks back to where it was on the calendar.
In my asp.net application,I want to show the .ppt file using the slide show manner.
That's to say,user can upload .ppt file to my server side,then other people can browser these ppts in the page ..
Since I have googled "embed powerpoint in web page" ,it seems that there is not a good idea to implement this and support the cross browser,so I thought the flash.
This is a slide show using the flash:
What I want is show the contents of the .ppt in this manner(it would be better if it support the animations in the ppt)?
is there a difference between classifying a function 'private' or 'private static' in a singleton? It seems that they both do the same thing. Maybe some difference in performance?
I have one MC that he has an gray color, when I compel it, it is gray, everything is fine so far. I had to create one param in the HTML pra to be able to change at any time of the MC color ex:"meuFlash.swf?&cf1=ff3300>...", any time that I change this MC color , my MC change too. I create this. [AS]new Color (fundo_mc.fundos_mc).setRGB (parseInt (cf1, 16));[/AS] My problem is the following one, when I speak in the HTML that I do not want to use this color "ff3300", I only want to use "meuFlash.swf?...", mine MC are all black, it are not of the gray color that I already had left, I do not know because it is all black.
I working on a game project in Flash AS3. I need to pass data from one class (Game) to other class objects (Ships) on EnterFrame and performance is starting to be a issue. I was wondering is there a difference in performance between calling to the Ship a direct function or dispatching an event which the Ship can listen.
another question is where should I put the enterframe function. Is it better to use only one enterframe function and call the methods dispatch events from there, or it will be wiser to put the enterframe in the different objects (Ships)? note: some Ships are inactive most of the time.
anyway im using flash as3 for about 6 months, and im still kinda confuse in this things like getters and setters, and idk what you call that but here's and example :
private function myBoolean():boolean { //codes here // {
idk how to use it, and what it differs from getters and setters,
I'm trying to get this one function to be able to call many functions (not at once, but call many possible ones)In other words, I'm trying to get this variable to be named as a function. That way, this one variable can create multiple functions.example:
actionscript Code: class Thing extends MovieClip{ var funcvar; var othervar; function onLoad() funcvar = "YYY"; othervar = "ZZZ"; function onEnterFrame()
