ActionScript 2.0 :: Draw Dynamic Lines - No Line Is Appearing Between The Circles
Mar 16, 2007
i am currently trying to use actionscript to make a flash program so that when i click once to set a circle and click another place to set another circle, a line will join these two circles. If i click to set a 3rd circle then this 3rd circle will line to the 2nd one and so on.... i have a circle movie clip in my library and the circles are appearing fine. my code is as follows but no line is appearing between the circles.
I'm wondering, is it possible to access shape data with actionscript. I want to draw simple lines with "line tool"somewhere in my movieclip and then to access information about my lines with actionscript to get startX, startY and endX endY of every line.
I have been working on a map viewer based blitting technique. As part of the map I need to draw approximately 50000 lines and performance is currently really poor.
I am trying to implement an object which is basically a simple line which grows in length over time. Picture it as starting from y= -10 and shooting down to y = 300. I want to be able to send them down at varying angles. I have already implemented and it works but I was wondering if there was a better method than what I use. Basically, I have a MovieClip which is a straight line and when I create an instance of it I give it a random rotation value between 1 & 10 and a random X location of 50-450 and y set to -50. Then I simply use the enterframe event to increase it's ScaleY by 0.01 each time. It works but the lines do look a little blurry.
I'm trying to write something like this facebook app [URL] I've already written code to let user to move circles with mouse, but i've got a problem with lines connecting them- sometimes i see old ones, which should have been deleted already. I refresh all lines every time any circle is moved. Here is my code which draws lines
I have a MovieClip that has four circles on the stage. Each circle draws a line to the other three circles. I'm trying to figure out how to find the intersect point between all of the lines. If there is no intersect point, then the circle in the middle should become the intersect point. I've uploaded the SWF here: [URL].
Here is the code for generating the lines: ActionScript Code: package { import flash.display.*; import flash.events.*; import flash.geom.*; import flash.sensors.Accelerometer; public class IntersectTest extends MovieClip { [Code] .....
I am looking for a way to draw circles using the mouse using the lineTo method, but need a way to find when collision occurs between the line that you're drawing and the line that's already on the screen.
I need to draw concentric circles in my Flex application. I am trying to do this using graphics util. The problem im facing is centering the two circles.
I'm trying to draw two circles at random positions, and draw a line between those two circles - but flash doesn't seem to register the x|y coordinates of the circle in my code. How would I do this. Better yet, how would I do this so that if I were to drag one of the circles, the line would maintain the connection between those points? Here's my code:
var sw = stage.stageWidth; var sh = stage.stageHeight; var cr = 6; //circle radius
I need to be able to draw a thick patterend line between 2 points in AS3, I can't use the draw API because it doesn't all me to actually put detail (pattern etc) into the thickness of the line, I thought about perhaps using the line to create a bitmap version and then using that as a mask, but I remember many years ago seeing some examples that use a movieclip as a source for a line.
I'm trying to produce a game that on mouse down a dotted line (or just a line) gets dragged out following the mouse until it is realized then it disappears.
I want to create a line tool exactly like flash line tool. But the code that I am using shows the line when we release the mouse button. How can I show the lines while it is drawing[code]...
I'm making a very simple game that lets you draw a curve by hand (using lineTo to the mouse position on mousemove) but now, I need to check wether the line intersects wiith another part of the same line (e.g. a loop)
I first used an onrollover command, and that worked, but not always because the mouse moved too fast (same with hittest with mouse). Then I pre-drawed the line in another mc, used hittest on it, and if it wasn't intersecting, draw it in the real mc. But that didn't work because it used the bounds to test. I guess the best way is to use some mathematical formula, but that would mean I have to save all my coordinates in an array..
I am trying to have a line draw in my movie with actionScript...
have made three lines.
if I want line 1 to draw.... then..... line 2.... then line 3
do I put the script on three separate frames ?
and.... right now... they are just there...
how do I make it like an animation where the line starts at the edge of my movie draws line 2 changes direction draws line 2 changes direction draws line 3 then stops.
Just opened flash for the first time to find that the pen tool will only draw straight lines. It can still plot points and the lines will join up but curves are impossible. Is there some setting that disable drawing curves? I haven't found anything in the annoyingly-online files.
I am having a problem with making 1 animation. I want to make a slowly appearing line. The scene is a pencil drawing a line. So as the pen end moves a line is slowly appearing, I couldn't get the technique on doing this?
I'm trying to draw lines on a canvas object. When the width of the Canvas is less that the width of the line, it draws outside the Canvas over other elements. I read about this problem and I try to resolve using a inner Canvas with a longer height so a scrollbar appears. But I also read that this problem can be correct using a mask but I do not know what is the better way. Which do you recommend?
I would like to have a possibility, where a user could draw simple lines, but with exact length (5000mm, 3150mm, 3950mm etc).where a user could just click and see the lines. Together these lines would make a floor plan for a house. These lines don't have to have thickness, because it will be just a sketch where walls are located. After user has drawn the sketch i would need the program to generate a text file with coordinates of the lines.
I cannot get the lines to draw onto the top of the MovieClip box_mc.At this pojnt, my solution is to change the alpha of box_mc to 0. Now I can see my drawings which are under the box_mc but keep within the boundries of the MovieClip.Maybe my thinking is too concrete, but I was trying to get the drawing lines to stay on top of the MovieClip box_mc like it was a small drawing board.I have tried place a reference to the stage in various places and use addChildAt() in order to see f I can change the MovieClip's place in the hierarchy but so far nothing has worked.
I am trying to create a flash movie (AS3) that would allow the user to draw using his mouse but straight lines only. The user would click to set the start point of the line then as he moves the mouse around the line would move with the mouse until the user clicks again to set the end point. When the user clicks again a new line is created without deleting the previous one.
I have 4 coordinates from which i created a rectangle(using lines). I also created buttons dynamically. It works great for straight line. But when the coordinates generate diagonal lines im having a problem in making it go below the lines or fitting it inside the figure. See my pic for better understanding. I have also figured out how to rotate the button.[code]...
