ActionScript 2.0 :: Get An External Swf To Pause?

Im trying to get an external swf to pause but I can't seem to do it... here is how my movies are setup
Domain1
preloader.swf
Domain2
movie.swf
When they were on the same domain I could access movie.swf fine but now it is on the other domain... it loads, but i can't control it. Im using System.security.allowDomain so it loads fine but telling the container to pause now does nothing..

I am having issues with MovieClips linking to HTML files on Firefox and I think part of the problem may be that the links aren't working in Firefox because of the browser waiting for the video to load.
Here is my code:

The vid.autoPlay=false; does seem to do anything.

I need to pause an external movie and have it play from where it was stopped. I can get all sorts of communication to the external swf from the parent EXCEPT simple playing and stopping. The movie plays when it is brought in, but I cannot get the pause stop/play part to work. Below is code that I've come up with, but doesn't work:

i have a main file that loads up 7 external swfs.Each of those swfs is progressively streaming flv files.From that main movie - i would like to pause those flvs..how would I do this? here is the code for one of the swf calls :

I am autoplaying a FLV in a SWF in scene 1. I have created buttons on this same scene that will do different things, and present different information. I really want that button to pause that autoplaying video when it starts those actions. How can I accomplish this?

I have created a Flash container movie (mainContainer.swf) that cycles through an array loading in several external swf files (animation1.swf, animation2.swf, animation3.swf, etc.). Once the user clicks the next button, the next swf is loaded, and so on...
What I need to be able to do, is to control the sound of the external swf files from the main container. Specifically, I need to be able to pause and play/resume the sound of the external swfs, but not quite sure how to access the external swf's soundChannel from the main container swf. My client recently wanted to add in a "pause" feature, and while I have been able to pause the external swf's animation, I cannot target the external swf's sound - it just continues playing while external animation is paused.
I can successfully pause/resume the sound (song.mp3) if the soundChannel is defined from within the same swf (using code below); however, I cannot seem to figure out how to communicate between the parent and child swf, if the parent is requesting the pause action, and the child swf is the one that loads in the song.

When i use the code: external_mc.stop(); only the maintimeline of the external swf stops but all the movieclips inside de external swf doesn't stop.
Is there a simple way to pause all the movieclips without to stop each movieclip seperatly.

I have created a Flash container that cycles through an array loading in several external swf files. What I need to be able to do, is to control the sound of the external swfs from the main container. I would like to be able to pause and play/resume the sound of the external swfs, but not quite sure how to accomplish this, as I am newly migrating to AS3. Some of the sound is embedded in the external files, while others load it in via AS.
I was able to successfully pause/resume the animation of the external files, but cannot get the sound to pause - it just continues playing while the animation is stopped.
How can I pause and resume the sound of my external swfs from my main container?

I have a site that loads an external mp3 player. Now I want to pause the sound when the "video" button is pressed. In the mqin swf file, there is a movie clip called "MP3_Player", in that clip is the loaded mp3 player. I used this method to call the mp3 swf file.[code]Now what path/s do apply to the button in the main swf file to get the music to pause.

I'm trying to create buttons so a viewer can pause and then play an externally loaded swf. My project can be accessed at the linke below. This is how I want the project to function
-Click a room on the building (choose Accounting for this discussion)
-Click one of the demo options (choose Ending a Period for this discussion)
- Now that the demo plays, I want the user to be able to play and pause the demo swf.
The demo .swfs were created in Captivate so I don't have access to their timeline. They are loaded into an empty Loader component using the MovieClipLoader Class.

I have been searching all morning and cannot find a solution to this. I have a 60MB SWF published from Camtasia and I would like to add the ability to pause/play the clip using spacebar. The file is too big to import into the library (Flash CS5) or at least I assume so because it keeps crashing when I try. So I thought I would create a new flash movie and have it just reference the clip externally. I have tried a couple methods each are resulting in different errors.

i have a movieclip on timeline, and then i addchild ( a container ) to load an external swf movie on it. Then i want to have a button so i can pause the loaded swf movie.
And my problem is, i can access to it, i can change the properties like the alpha, but i can just stop or pause it.

From the cointeiner I want to controll audio pause/resume.
I know the procedure to do this with a mp3 file, but I can't intercept the sound channel of my child swf...
this should be the code to obtain the sound position:

I have a preloader.swf that loads another swf (main.swf). It all works fine, however I would like the loading bar to stay on 100 (once it gets there) for 2-3 seconds before the main.swf opens, currently as expected from the code below, as soon as it gets to 100% it flicks straight over to the main.swf.
I am using tweener, and I could achieve this easily using the onComplete code to call this.addChild(loader);, however, the problem is, both my preloader and my main swf are liquid layouts, and if I were to call the this.addChild(loader); at the end in its own function, then it throws a
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
. The only way to get around this error is to put the this.addChild(loader); so that it loads upfront. After a bit of google research, i found this error occurs due to the stage properties already been set in the preloader.swf (from liquid layout)then once the main.swf loads it tries to set them again...So is there another way i can cause a delay for 2-3 seconds once my preloader hits 100?

I have a timeline of 30 frames, each it's own mc (page01_mc, etc.). In each mc I show a picture or two and hear narration.I have a first, prev and next nav on the main timeline. How can I pause within a for loop?
Not do some other function or pause the playhead, just:

I can't make it wait within the loop. I can use setTimeout or setInterval to delay the calling of the for loop, but once it's called it just flips through all the iterations.
