The audio plays fine. My question is how can I create a pause, resume, rewind, or fast forward button for an external mp3?
I've got a situation where .swfs are loaded by buttons from another .swf to a higher level.each button loads its own external movie. What I would like to know is how to load these external .swfs in succession, either forward or backwards, with forward and back buttons, as well as keeping the specific buttons in effectI guess it would be kinda like the way you search through the forums. You can either click the number that corresponds to the next page, like "2" for example, or you can click the forward button that looks like ">". Same for the back situation. So it would look something like this: "<12345>". You could either click the ">" button to move all the way to 5, or click each number separately

I want the Home Button to take me back to the start of the scene, Forward Button to Load a External swf slide and when the Forward Button is clicked again to Unload External swf and load in the next swf slide, I also want the Back Button to do a similar thing![code]...
I'm trying to create buttons so a viewer can pause and then play an externally loaded swf. My project can be accessed at the linke below. This is how I want the project to function
-Click a room on the building (choose Accounting for this discussion)
-Click one of the demo options (choose Ending a Period for this discussion)
- Now that the demo plays, I want the user to be able to play and pause the demo swf.
The demo .swfs were created in Captivate so I don't have access to their timeline. They are loaded into an empty Loader component using the MovieClipLoader Class.

I have been searching all morning and cannot find a solution to this. I have a 60MB SWF published from Camtasia and I would like to add the ability to pause/play the clip using spacebar. The file is too big to import into the library (Flash CS5) or at least I assume so because it keeps crashing when I try. So I thought I would create a new flash movie and have it just reference the clip externally. I have tried a couple methods each are resulting in different errors.

I am going out of my mind trying to get this to work. I can do it in AS2 without a hitch - but not AS3.I just need to load an external swf file into an empty movieclip. Then I have 2 buttons play and pause that need to be on the top layer of the new movie and they need to play and pause the loaded swf file.

I am doing this so I can rollover the viewing window and have it appear. I cannot get any code to work to control the timeline (which is broken down into sections with individual MC's in each section.
What I am looking for is the code to apply to the buttons on the external controller to control the playing of the movie.
How do I pause not play the external FLV video until I hit the "Play" button? I don't want my video to play immediately Couldn't figure out which code to edit or add in my AS.Below are my codes

simple one this, or so i thought! basically, i want a mc to play from start to finish (11 frames) upon rollover and upon rollout i want it to play backwards to the first frame. Accurately.

I have a timeline of 30 frames, each it's own mc (page01_mc, etc.). In each mc I show a picture or two and hear narration.I have a first, prev and next nav on the main timeline. I need to add a play/pause btn that will pause both pictures and sound. I assume I do that in each mc, but do not know where to find the code.Here is what is in each mc now:

I have several products I want to animate with graphics and text individualy then stack them on a time line for output with play and pause buttons. Is there a tutorial somwhere that shows you how to do this? and how do I stop the entire animation on a frame, I don't understand "not_set_yet"
View 4 RepliesI beleive there's an Action Script or possibly an attached Javascript (maybe) that would allow an FLV video to 1st stream forward and then play backwards and repeat this proccess over and over to simulate an endless trend. The perfect example can be simply viewed here url...Their video is a short 13 sec clip of the pup licking the screen, but they managed to reverse it when it reaches the end.
View 3 RepliesI have a file to which I do not have the source - a flash header with an obnoxious sound intro and I need to mute all sounds. Without the source I am limited as to what I can do. I have some as3 code that I am using to try and load the swf into and mute(building in FlashDevelop). Here is the code in question:

How would I mute the external audio?
How would I display the external swf just as it does when viewing it directly?
i would like to load the "1.swf" to the "hub.swf"(ROOT MOVIE) and have it gotoAndPlay(2) using AS2.he thing is I can't put the gotoAndPlay(2) on the first frame of 1.swf.

I am totally new to actionscript.I found a slideshow which uses an xml file to load jpgs. (albumV2.swf)The xml contains jpgs, and captions.When I publish it on its own...works fine.Now I'm trying to place albumV2.swf inside a deeply nested mc.I'm using a button to navigate to the target movieclip (holder_mc) which I want to contain the external swf.[code]when I test The albumV2.swf loads, I can see the background for the photos. But it won't play.There are thumbnails in the swf that don't show, but there's also a timer and counter in the swf that do show.All the photos are called from the xml doc, but I can't see them. However, I CAN see the first caption that's in the xml.doc. and only the first caption.I wondered if the code in the original slideshowFLA uses some hierarchy that I'm screwing up, but shouldn't the xml be fine once it's found?

I have three buttons on the stage and it should load its external SWF
homeButton_btn - home.swf
page1Button_btn - page1.swf
page2Button_btn - page2.swf
Each of the button should load it's external SWF's intro when click.My problem is that I don't know how to command the button to play the swf's outro and then load the next swf everytime I click a button. Example: When I click homeButton_btn, the external swf should load "home.swf" and then if I am going to click page1Button_btn, the outro of "home.swf' should play and then once it reaches the end of it's timeline, it should load "page1.swf". Same goes with page2Button_btn, whatever swf that is on the stage should play it's outro first and then load "page2.swf"
My questions are: 1. How can I control the external SWF to play it's outro and then load the next SWF.
2. What code should I put at the end of the external SWF's timeline.
3. Where do you think I should put the preloader? Is it better to put it at the external swf timeline? or on my main swf timeline?
4. Does load and unload of external swf also work with movieclips? Like for example I will not use a external swfs, instead I will use movieclips to load and unload its content.My Actionscript 3.0 code

When one clip finishes, i want the next clip to play and to endlessly loop through the flvs, never stopping. If there's a way to include a transition, that'd be cool too, but not important. I've got the first clip loading, but can't get the next to play.

I want to create a movie clip to play forward when the mouse hovers over it but backwords when the mouse rolls off. This sounds easy enough but I having a few problems getting it to work.
I do not want to clip to jump to a position before changing direction.
I am having problems getting the clip to go backwards on the rolloff if the foward movement has not been completed.
I thought that I could just use script to send the clip forward by one frame on roll over (frame = frame+1), and opposite on roll off but it does not appear to work - i think it may be much more complicated than this.
I was trying to accomplish this same effect using actionscript 3.0; (click the forward and back button next to the recent work)[URL] he has made buttons play a movieclip at different points of a timeline...Basically this is what I came up with (see my cooment).

I have a college project to hand in within 2 days. I'm making a website and what I want to achieve is a button that plays the movieclip (which is a piece of paper going onto the stage) and when you click it again it reverses that clip. I've tried loads of things and only got code that allows two buttons to reverse and go forward.
