ActionScript 2.0 :: Start/stop/pause A Sound In External Swf?
Jan 15, 2010
I'va any troubles in controlling sound in an external swf. I need to stop/play/pause it. I've put the sound file on the timeline of the external swf and I want to control it from tha main movie in wich I've load it. the swfs are made using AS2.0
My final goal would be to have the animation pause after the first click, then resume with the next click and so on.So, after successfully having started the animation on I tried adding a
this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,stopF); function stopF(e:MouseEvent):void{ this.stop();
I have a flash player that plays an MP3 from my website. On one of my pages i have around 20 of these flash players embeded on the website. i've seen on other websites so when the user presses the play on flash player #1 and then while that's playing, they press play on flash player #2, it would first pause and stop flash player #1 and then start flash player #2 and so on.
How can I get the pause button to stop sounds and music, and the play button to start them up again? As of now, it only stops the animation, and lets the music continue.
I am creating an animation with very few controls for a presentation and it requires adding sound. I have my intro in the first frame with one sound and then want the user to click anywhere to start the animation and another sound.The problem I am having is sound control.No matter what I try the sounds overlap. I have managed to stop the first sound when going to the next frame - the animation, but the second sound now will not start. The first sound is called in from the library with the below code:
var snd = new Sound(); snd.attachSound("Tune"); and stopped when going on the next frame with:
I wish to be able to play a voice sound every 3 minutes. I have the sound in "mp3' format and need to repeat the message every 3 minutes.
[Code]...
The actionscript 3.0 I wrote makes the sound once but that's it. I have the "Loop" on but it only runs once. I need a Timer also but until I can get the sound goes its a mute point.
I am trying to stop one specific mp3 file that plays throughout the whole document. But I don't want to use the off and on button. Instead when I press one of the pop-up buttons, I want a new sound to start in the pop-up window.
How do you stop the current sound that is playing and start the one on the pop-up? My main question is, is there a code that will stop current mp3, and start a different sound when the pop-up window is activated.
In this tutorial [URL] it shows how to start a sound, and I got that down, but using a seperate button, how do you stop the sound? I cant figure that out.
Pause and Resume external SWF sound filesI have this code that plays the sound through linkage. It reside in scene1.fla -> scene1.swf.
var mc:MovieClip = this.createEmptyMovieClip("mc",1);var myLoop:Sound = new Sound(mc);myLoop.attachSound("bg_sound");myLoopVolume=0;myLoop.setVolume(myLoopVolume); mc.onEnterFrame = function () { if (fadeIn01==1) {
I am making a small website and i am trying to stop the sound from a video playing when the user clicks any other button to navigation away from the video which is fine (SoundMixer.StopAll behind the code for each of the buttons) but then if they decide to go back to the video page there is no sound? I tried removing the event listener but i cant get it to work
i'm habing abit of problem with this code, its supposed to play pause and stop, the problem being that when i press stop then play it only plays from the last pause and not the beggining how to get it to play from the start after the stop button is pressed
im making a flash animation with a background two sets of text an invisible button and a song. im trying to make the the animation start when the mouse rolls over and have it stop and reset to the beginning when it rolls out. on my invisible button (first layer) i have
I am trying to create a sound button to start a sound and then stop it when clicked again. I thought it would be easy because there is a code snippet for "click to play/stop sound"
I have my sound file in my library.
Below is the code that is not working:
Instructions:1. Replace [URL]below with the desired URL address of your sound file. Keep the quotation marks ("").*/
CYOA2bttn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, fl_ClickToPlayStopSound_11); var fl_SC_11:SoundChannel; //This variable keeps track of whether you want to play or stop the soundvar fl_ToPlay_11:Boolean = true; Proxy-Connection: keep-alive Cache-Control: max-age=0 Cp>function
I'm trying to get right. Essentially I want the beeping sound to loop infinitely while there are no pauses in the writing of the text, but I want it to stop once the last loop that was going when a pause in the writing started has finished, and then start up again when the pause ends.Now I could just easily set the loop to stop once a pause starts, but then there is the chance of stopping the loop mid-sample and making the pause sound abrupt, and I don't want that to happen.Now please watch the current swf:And please read my script for better understanding
i know this is a problem allread often talked about, but i cant solve it.i want to start and stop a sound with a mouseclick event.the problem seems to be that the click event is never triggered. can anyone see why?
I have created a Flash container movie (mainContainer.swf) that cycles through an array loading in several external swf files (animation1.swf, animation2.swf, animation3.swf, etc.). Once the user clicks the next button, the next swf is loaded, and so on...
What I need to be able to do, is to control the sound of the external swf files from the main container. Specifically, I need to be able to pause and play/resume the sound of the external swfs, but not quite sure how to access the external swf's soundChannel from the main container swf. My client recently wanted to add in a "pause" feature, and while I have been able to pause the external swf's animation, I cannot target the external swf's sound - it just continues playing while external animation is paused.
I can successfully pause/resume the sound (song.mp3) if the soundChannel is defined from within the same swf (using code below); however, I cannot seem to figure out how to communicate between the parent and child swf, if the parent is requesting the pause action, and the child swf is the one that loads in the song.
I have created a Flash container that cycles through an array loading in several external swf files. What I need to be able to do, is to control the sound of the external swfs from the main container. I would like to be able to pause and play/resume the sound of the external swfs, but not quite sure how to accomplish this, as I am newly migrating to AS3. Some of the sound is embedded in the external files, while others load it in via AS.
I was able to successfully pause/resume the animation of the external files, but cannot get the sound to pause - it just continues playing while the animation is stopped.
How can I pause and resume the sound of my external swfs from my main container?
I am working on controls for an external swf. The external swf loads an external sound file. The structure at the moment is extswf.swf contains mcSound which loads soundfile.mp3. extswf.swf automatically starts playing when invoked. movieController contains the icons for the play/pause buttons. This is assigned CntlClass. CntlClass loads extswf.swf and controls the play and pause buttons.
So far, the play and pause buttons stop and start and stop the movie but not the sound. I know I need to access the sound channel from the external swf and use the sound transform to change the volume. How to access that channel is unknown. The examples I find have imbedded sound files. Also, the examples seem to use the main class for the external swf. My external swf doesn't have a class file, so I have no idea what the main class would be.
I have a timeline of 30 frames, each it's own mc (page01_mc, etc.). In each mc I show a picture or two and hear narration.I have a first, prev and next nav on the main timeline. I need to add a play/pause btn that will pause both pictures and sound. I assume I do that in each mc, but do not know where to find the code.Here is what is in each mc now:
var mySound:Sound = new Sound(); mySound.load(new URLRequest("english/Intro01.mp3")); mySound.play()
So I made a few buttons with sounds within them and when I publish it they work just fine. But what I want them to do is;
Say I click a Button.The sound starts playing.Then I click it again, before the sounds done playing.I want it to stop the playing sound and start playing the button I just clicked on, whether it be the same button, or a different one.Right now it just ends up sounds like an echo because it'll play it as many times as you click it.
I'm trying to figure out how I can make the sound file that I load into Flash start at x seconds and end at x+30 seconds.So basically, I just want a 30 second sample to play starting at a specific time position. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this or have links to somewhere I can read up on it?
I'm loading an external swf file that has some sounds in it (to the main swf). The swf contents never leave the movie but it does get pushed to the site when it's not in view.
The user can bring it back in view by pressing on a left/right button. So when it's not in view... or tweening out of view I need the sounds to stop.
Since the loaded swf is never unloaded, what should I look at to accomplish this... communicating with the loaded swf, etc?
I have created a form that has some buttons that open external swf files.Problem is when I close the external swf the audio keeps playing.If I turn off sounds the sound starts again when I load a new external swf.Here is the relevant portion of code;
function playMyMovie():void{ myrequest=new URLRequest(myMovie); myloader =new Loader(); myloader.load(myrequest); function movieLoaded(myevent:Event):void { stage.addChild(myloader); var mycontent:MovieClip=myevent.target.content; mycontent.x=100; [code]....
I have a menu on my main page where i can choose some videos to play, these videos are in external SWFs that are loaded in and displayed using Loader, URLrequest etc.. etc..
I have a close button on my external swf that sends a dispatchEvent to an eventListener on my homepage to close the external SWF however the sound from the video in the external swf is still audible even though the visual is gone
heres the code
main page code Code: Select all function playVideo(e:MouseEvent):void{ //stop maipage sound channel.stop();
I have a long mp3 file hosted on a standard apache server (30 minutes long so far, but I would like it to work with longer sounds too).I'd like to start playback of this audio within at a specified point. When attempting to use Flash Actionscript 3, my basic tests show that ALL the audio from the start to the position I choose is buffered before playback (Sound.bytesLoaded was my friend here). If I start one second in, it takes about 3 seconds to start playback, 30 seconds in, takes about 25 secondsObviously with a really long mp3, like skipping playback to the middle of a 3-hour audiobook, this isn't going to be practical.Here's the ActionScript 3.0 code I'm using:
button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, function():void { var s:Sound = new Sound(); var req:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://example.com/audio.mp3");
