Jul 6, 2010

As part of a flash 8 project, I have created a Quiz using Check Boxes.In Question 1, I have got 8 Ckeckboxes in 2 columns of which check boxes:- B, D. E, and H are correct answers.The rest are the wrong answers. However user may tick all the right ones and also tick couple of wrong answers (eg user mayWhat I want is when user selects only the correct boxes (B, D, E, H) answer equals 1 point (right answer).A, C, E, G equals 0 point (wrong).B, D, E, H and combination of other checkboxes equals 0 point (wrong answer).A, C, F, G and combination of other checkboxes equals 0 point (wrong answer).A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H equals 0 point (wrong answer).I need a method using actionscript 2.0 to work this out. I think I've worked out the first part where user selects only the correct boxes (B, D, E, H) equals 1 point, and if user only selects the wrong boxes (A, C, F, G) equals 0 point. But I can't work out other parts. I tried using logical || (OR), but does not seem to work properly.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Reset Check Answer Button?

Oct 22, 2010

Frame one has three draggable movie clips and three finishing locations (one clip per location), it also has one a button (Check answer)A user can drag any of the three clips to any location and then click Check Answer.Check answer then runs an action that if the clips are in the right places, it goes to frame 2, if they are not, it goes to frame three where a Reset button is provided. In either case, a message is displayed.

On frame 3, I want people to be able to change the positions of the clips and select Check answer and have it check the answer again. Currently it's letting me move the clips, but even when I put them in the right places, it still tells me it's wrong.[code]...

ActionScript 3.0 :: Load Random Images With Question And Check Answer

Dec 1, 2011

I'm making a quiz in flash that loads random images with questions (50 in total) and I want to check if someone answers right (obvious). I'm using this script to check if you answer correctly:
PHP Code:
if (answers[randomnumber].selected){
score++;
}

The answers is an Array with the correct answers. The random number is this:
PHP Code:
var high:int = 50;
var low:int = 1;
var randomnumber:int = (Math.floor(Math.random()*(1+high-low))+low)
The .selected is because it uses radio buttons. But it doesn't work! For testing I modded it so that you get the same question every time and I answered the same every time (correctly) but it says that I don't have everything right?

That button points to information in a frame within the mc button. However, when I test it all the buttons on the root timeline appear on top of this information, covering it up.

Also, when you move the mouse while in this "further info" area, it disappears

ActionScript 3.0 :: Check Inputfield With If Statement?

Jun 10, 2011

I have the following code.

Code:
var codes_txt;
locatie_mc.visible = false;
check_mc.visible = false;[code]....

When someone enters text in the inputfield (Instancename= codes_txt) it has to be checked.

If it is good(GoedeCode) kaarten_mc has to go to the next frame.

If it isn't good(FouteCode) kaarten_mc has to go to the previous frame.

If the code does not excist they have to get an error: code does not excist.

It has to start checking after the function CheckCode.

Now I don't know how to check the inputfield. In theory I know what to do but I don't know how to put it into AS3.

Xml :: Flash - Run If/else Statement To Check If XML Node Is Empty?

Feb 23, 2010

checking an XML file for a specific node.

Example:

<vid
flv="videoName"
thumb="thumbnail.jpg"
title="Video Title"

[code]....

The first vid node contains a path to a logo graphic, I then need to check in my ActionScript if there is a logo there or not, and to do something if there is(display the logo) I can trace out the logo path so I thought I could run a simple if/else to check if there is anything in that node and if so to do something:

private function thumbOver(e:MouseEvent = null):void
{
trace("
");

[code]....

Now I've tried everything, but it will always trace out "Does have a logo" no matter what I do. I tried:

if (tabData[tabID].video[e.target.id].@logo == "")
if (tabData[tabID].video[e.target.id].@logo == null)

However I get the same results?

ActionScript 3.0 :: If / Else Statement To Check Whether Or Not External Swf Is Loaded

Oct 24, 2011

Just starting to delve into as3. I have made a flash website with four navigation buttons (home, products, about, contact). When user clicks on "products", an external movie clip is loaded and everything works fine. User clicks any button after that, and myLoader.unloadAndStop, the swf is removed when you navigate away from "products". However, if the "home", "about", or "contact" buttons are clicked first (before the external swf has been loaded), it of course, throws the 1009 error.I need some sort of if/else statement to check whether or not the external swf is loaded, remove it if it is, and if not, just navigate to the "page" clicked.[code]

Flash - Check The Cumulative Status Of OnLoadInit In A For Statement

In a setup like this is it possible to check the cumulative status of all onLoadInit?

var mclListener:Object = new Object();
mclListener.onLoadInit = function(mc:MovieClip) {

Initially I was thinking that I could pass an array of Boolean's, but I'm not really sure where to add that checkpoint, because a flash frame doesn't keep looping. Would I have to add it to an onEnterFrame()?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Loading Data From XMl File And Uses It To Run An If Statement. If Statement Fails?

Oct 10, 2008

The Flash movie contains 2 Text files, one Component button, and 1 component checkbox.The purpose of the application is to load an XML file(works)Populate 2 text fields with information from the XML file(works)Compare the two text fields, if they contain the same information then the checkbox, via AS is told to be selected. (Heres the problem);

Heres the code:

Code:
runCode_btn.onPress = function() {
data_xml = new XML();
data_xml.ignoreWhite = true;
data_xml.onLoad = function(success) {

[code]....

The idea behind this app is that its an electronic form. The user fills it out, the information is then sent to a newly created XML file, months later the open the XML file in flash, and Flash fills out text fields and check and or unchecks Checkboxes based on the XML data.CheckBoxes are mandatory.But I don't see how I'll be able to use them if i can't create and condition statements based on the loaded Data.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Use A For Statement To Create An If Statement

Jul 12, 2010

what I'm trying to do is create an else if argument for each object in an array based on a user set number

Code:
for(var i:int=0; i < numberOfElseIfs; i++){
GENERATE AS3 CODE
}

to which I want it to GENERATE THE FOLLOWING CODE:

Code:
}else if(baskets[i].used == false){
baskets[i].used = true;
drawButton(i);
}

the problem is obviously that the compiler reads this code rather than understanding I'm trying to regenerate the code within the for loop...does that make sense :S? So basically I need as3 to read the code between the for statement as if it is going to echo that out later. Is this even possible?

ActionScript 3.0 :: How To Best Keep Track Of Answer Count

Sep 17, 2010

I have a quiz created in Flex using Spark forms, with a series of questions which are a group of radio buttons. When the user clicks "next", I get the value of the selected radio button in the group. What I need to do is keep track of these values; at the end of the quiz I will need to see which value was chosen the most. So if the user mostly picked the questions with a "3" value, I can display a summary based on that, e.g. "You mostly chose type 3 answers". I was thinking about having an int variable for every choice (there are 5), and incrementing the appropriate variable when the user clicks "next", as in

private function enterScore(i:int):void {
switch (i){
case 1:
num1++;
break;

But this seems unwieldy. I also will need to compare the 5 tallies for which one was chosen the most...
