May 3, 2005

I am loading levels into a main swf, these levels load via a Menu bar built into my main movie... how do I keep the menu bar from disappearing as the other layers load into the main? I know it's underneath my other levels cuz I get a mouseover on the buttons, I just can't see the menu bar...

Flash 9 :: Layers Position Changing And Disappearing On Test

Sep 24, 2008

Im new to flash and doing my best to teach myself.Im using CS3.I've already been working on this project for a while, and I don't know why this is all of the sudden happening.I have a text graphic that I want to create a motion tween with.I created a new layer for it, and drug it to the stage.If I tested the movie at that point, it looked fine and didn't move. If I tried to move the original keyframe, or added a motion tween, it would look fine when I played it on the stage, but when I go to "test movie", its either not on the screen at all, or its in a totally different position.

ActionScript 1/2 :: Menu Buttons Not Disappearing?

May 29, 2009

I have knowledge of HTML but this is my first flash project, and I think I'm way over my head. I followed a tutorial explaining how to make menu buttons and I realized that the actionscript for a drop down menu should work for what I'm trying to do.  So I finally have everything the way I want it but I'm pretty sure I have a bit of wasted code in there.  Now, my issue is when I play my flash and move my mouse really fast over the flash object sometimes two menu buttons appear. I'm sure it is because of the ._alpha > 0 code I'm using but I dont know another way around it. If you have any advice PLEASE share!! Here is a link to the swf file...http:[url]....

This is the code (for two buttons) I use to make something disappear when I RollOver another button:

calplate_btn.onRollOver = function () { if(scan_large._x > startX) {  myTweenB.stop();  myTween2.stop();  scan_large.enabled = false  scan_large._alpha = 0  scan_large._x = startX }  if(scan_large._alpha > 0 ) {  myTweenB.stop();  myTween2.stop();  scan_large.enabled = false  scan_large._alpha = 0  scan_large._x = startX }[code].......

ActionScript 3.0 :: Composite Menu - Submenu Not Disappearing On Mouseout

Jan 3, 2011

I'm creating a menu from XML. It will be able to traverse over the XML recursively (so n-levels deep). The menu itself is a composite -- each node in the menu, either a menuList or menuItem, is a menuComponent. menuComponent is more-or-less an abstract class so they all inherit and override a draw() function. If the object is a menuList, then it has a Sprite container to hold all of it's children. I did this so it would be easy to add and remove all of it's children by just adding and removing a container that holds all of them.

The issue I'm having is with the event listeners. I am adding a mouse_over event to a button. The button is within a Sprite container. When I mouse over the button, I'm adding the submenu into the buttons container. The problem comes when I mouse out of the button. I've gotten the submenu to stay but not disappear on mouse_out OR it appears when I'm over the button but disappears as soon as I exit it. I THOUGHT if I attach the mouse_out listener to the container, it would work because the container should expand when I add the submenu into it.

ActionScript Code:
package as3 {
import flash.display.DisplayObjectContainer;
import flash.display.Sprite;
import flash.events.ErrorEvent;
import flash.utils.getDefinitionByName;
[Code] .....

ActionScript 2.0 :: Get The Sub Menu To Jump Back To The Main Menu?

Sep 8, 2002

I'm working on a web menu, that has sub menus. I'm currently trying to get the sub menu to jump back to the main menu if the mouse is no longer inside the submenu zone.

It works if I move the mouse quickly to another part of the Flash area, but if I quickly move it out of the Flash area and onto say the html document, it doesn't update fast enough, and thus still thinks the mouse is hovering over it.

I know I can simply update the movie frame rate which does work, but I was wondering if there is any way to get Flash to check to see if the mouse IS ACTUALLY ACTIVE over it, and if not close the submenu?

Refresh the page, and it works fine thereafter. The video plays through a FLV Player inside a SWF. The SWF is 695 frames long and has the following characteristics: 'fade-out' alpha tween starting at Frame 685A Stop action at the very last frameThe following code on the FLV player:

Flash :: Layers In A Swf Refuse To Load (occasionally, After A Cache Clear)?

Jul 14, 2009

I have a swf with four frames. The first frame loads an external class that acts as traffic controller - looks at the root flashvars being passed in and redirects to frame 2, 3, or 4.

Frame 2 is a basic login screen. There's 5 layers - 2 background layers, the login screen, and a dummy text field. I also have trace statements on every layer, which I have speaking with javascript and writing out to the Firebug console. Since the swf requires database access to know what to do, it only works on a server.

The issue I'm having is that, occasionally, not all the layers on frame 2 load. All the actionscript on every layer fires successfully. What I'll do is clear my cache, and roughly 1 out of every 3 times, the only layer that's loaded is the bottom layer, or the bottom two layers.

I've removed the login movie clip and replaced it with dummy text - nothing. I put a preloader on the first frame - nothing. I created a loader swf to, in turn, load this problematic swf - nothing. I thought it might have something to do with order of rendering so I made those bottom layers semi-transparent - nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to further diagnose this problem? While it's intermittent, it happens often enough to demand a fix.

ActionScript 1/2 :: Load Movie - Randomly Load Other Swf's (individual Ads) Into Main Swf After

Apr 2, 2009

I am pulling double duty with this question as it serves two purposes. I am developing a total flash controlled ad system for myself, but also need to use the same theory for a project for work.

Concept: I have a main movie (ad rotator system) that I then want to randomly load other swf's (individual ads) into this main swf after a set period of time. The random load I got set no problem. The problem I am having is to get it to move to the new Frame label of the main movie which then loads the smaller swfs. I am using the LoadMovie with nInterval time delay command in flash to load the movies.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Back To Main Menu Button

Jul 16, 2009

I'm working on a little project where I have a list of working text I converted to buttons and scituated vertically along the left hand side of the stage. Each button when pressed, triggers a different image with some text. This all works great. The problem is that I have a "Back to Main Menu" button located at teh bottom center of the stage. When depressed, I want this button to clear out the image and text on the stage and leave the user looking at just the original list of buttons along the left hand side of the stage.

I can easily get the main menu button to do this for my first image and text. Here's the code for that:

gbtext_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playGearbox);
menu_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, stopGearbox);
function playGearbox(event:MouseEvent):void {    gearbox_mc.visible = true;

ActionScript 2.0 :: Make Submenu Design Different To Main Menu?

Mar 7, 2007

url...I don't really know actionscript and I have two issues.Firstly, and most importantly, how can I make the submenu design different to the main menu? Specifically, I need the submenu items to have different y spacing, width, font heights & background. No probs doing a separate movieclip, but how do I assign a certain movieclip depending on whether it's a main menu or submenu item? Secondly, when the cursor moves off the movie, the last open submenu stays open! This happens in this site's example as well. It only closes when the cursor hits another main menu.
