I'm loading a color from a XML file. eg 0x0AAFD and storing it on a variable. eg var storecolor = myxml.childNodes[0].attributes.color;
storecolor returns the value 0x0AAFD.If I do, box.colorTo(0x0AAFD, 0.3);it will work.Where I am having trouble is when I try to use the var in a MCTWEEN function. eg. box.colorTo(storecolor, 0.3);I've tried making a the variable a string and a number but still doesnt work.
i have a button, with instance name lightblue_color. I am assigning a color to its color field like this: lightblue_color.transform.colorTransform.color = 0x65ffff; then i am adding an eventlistener to the button like this: lightblue_color.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, ChangeColor); Then, in the function: public function ChangeColor(evnt:MouseEvent):void {trace(evnt.target.transform.colorTransform.color);} It prints 0. Why is that? Shouldn't it print 0x65ffff or do i need to do some type conversions?
View 2 RepliesHow would you defer loading of other graphics on the page until after the images in a Flash gallery's images.xml file are finished loading?Is there any way to detect for this, or would I only be able to check if the flash swf object is finished loading? I'm pretty sure the swf object would be loaded/ready as with document.getElementById('flashobject').onload = function(){}; before the corresponding images have loaded though, instead of after.

I'm doing a project for work and need to change the color on this file I purchased from iStockPhoto. It is a world map flash file, which highlights the country you select in green. I simply want to change it so that all highlights are done in Red instead, but am not a flash developer so not sure how to do it.

View 10 RepliesGot a really big problem here. I keep on getting "NetConnection.Connect.Failed" when I load a .asc file on my main.asc file, i use the method load() in my code. I really don't understand why this happens, but when i comment out the code that loads the asc file, I can successfully connect to fms. I can't figure out what's happening here. Btw, i'm using fms4 in windows 7 32bit.

I want to do this because my main file needs the SWFs to be ready to go once its done loading. I have looked around and i found a few ways to do this with the "if (loadedBytes>=totalBytes)" and the code loops back till the files are done loading... this would be just what i need but i cant seem to get it to work. the file just seems to start loading my files but does not loop and just runs the time-line even once i state what frames i want it to loop.

I'm using NoChumps zip library to extract files from a zip. In this library the entire IDataStream is loaded into memory and after that you can extract file entries easily. In cases where the zip is 5 to 10MB there are no problems. But when the zip is 80MB, which many are, 80MB is loaded into memory. This causes the app to crash and run slow on mobile devices. According to the zip specification,
"A ZIP file is identified by the presence of a central directory located at the end of the file, this allows appending of new files. The directory stores a list of the names of the entries (files or directories) stored in the ZIP file, along with other metadata about the entry, and an offset into the ZIP file, pointing to the actual entry data."
Also, I do not have control of the size of zip files but most average is 60 to 100MB. Files inside are ~4MB.

View 5 RepliesI would like to have flash www page with dimentions 960x653 pixels. There will be 5 scenes navigated by buttons and each of the scene will have different background color. I would like to have fullscreen background also (filling the rest of the space), and to make it I used "Auto-Resizing and Centering Content", based on tutorial:

To make it working with my existing animation I made 960x653 UILoader instead the centerRectangle, and I loaded my swf animation there. Fullscreen background is working - when I scale window of the viewer the main scene keeps its dimentions and background fills the rest of the space, what is what I wanted to. My included animation is working perfectly.
But I still have one issue to solve. How to change my fullscreen background while switching scenes? Is it possible to change it from included swf animation?

Is there a way to check file name case when loading a file? For example:
My URLRequest has this: "filename1.swf", but the actual file on the server is this FILENAME1.swf. Since the file names do not match case, is there a way i can have flash and AS3 catch this?
I have a problem loading remote XML file into SWF file. Im doing a banner for a client with adds that is supose to load constantly updated XML file from my clients server and load some images into flash form it. Everything works fine when i test the movie (CTRL+ENTER), but when i publish it and test it from explorer, XML file is just not loading into flash.
View 7 RepliesI have problem in loading multiple swf file into a main swf file. I will state the things clearly at first. I have a main Index file to which i have to load some swf files which i have placed in a seprate folder. I tried to load those movies to main swf file using loadMovie it worked well when i give the exact path of the swf movies in subfolders. Aslo it worked when i placed the entire swf files including the Index file on a single folder, this worked only on my local machine suppose if i copy those entire folder to some other Computer and tried to run the Index file it doesnt works if it is in an single folder it works. The thing i need is the Index file alone has to be placed on the main folder and rest of the Swf file has to be placed on sub folder so when i run the index file it has to load the required swf file from sub folder this even have to work when i run the application on some other computers.

I made a 'movie' in Premiere and exported as FLV., Its suppose to be a banner on the top of a web page. The site was made with Dreamweaver. When played locally, the banner does great. When I put it on the server, thats a different story. I can tell thats something is there because it loads the background color of the flash file but it doesn't play the FLV.
