Jan 15, 2009when I press a button, the text loads into the still visible imageArea_mc text area.When a button is clicked, I have external swfs which contain 2 dynamic text boxes, named heading_txt and content_txt, loading into my main movie. They are receiving their data dynamically from an XML file. The problem I am having is that as soon as the button is clicked, the new data loads into the still visible text boxes. What I want to do (I think) is somehow tell the main movie to assign the appropriate text for each individual movie.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Retaining Order Of Files Loaded Externally From Large XML Files
Jul 18, 2006I was messing around with some old examples, and I ran into an unfinished example where several 30k-100k XML files are loaded and stored as a string into an Array. The code looks basically like:[code]Basically, when I trace the 'this', the order of the files that are loaded is off. Out of about 10 tries, about 3 times the order is perfect. The remaining 7 times, the order is a bit off. Does anybody have a suggestion on how to ensure the files are loaded prior to the next file being loaded? I tried placing a while loop that basically delays the clock for a few milliseconds, and that didn't work either. Besides, that is not really a good solution to arbitrarily waste clock cycles.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Photo Gallery - Externally Loaded SWF Auto Fit To Window
Nov 15, 2010I have a flash site with 10 different tabs/sections with a stage size of 1200 x 1372. The final tab of the site contains a photo gallery, which I would like to have a different stage size and just fit the browser screen as it loads an external SWF which auto fits to the screen. At the moment, it auto fits the stage size meaning the bottom half of the photos don't show. How I can just alter the last page?

Mar 30, 2009I've developed an application which uses a (dynamic) XML file to load in several files; a maximum of four MP3 files and a number of JPG files.When everything has finished loading, the user can press a "Play" button. The application could be described as a "mixer"; it's used to give online music lessons and to facilitate this, the sheet music is loaded (cut up into into several JPGs) which move horizontally on the screen like a marquee, while the music it represents begins playback. The music exists of several MP3s so that the user can mute (e.g.) the vocals or the drums, allowing him to focus on (e.g.) the guitar.
So what's going wrong, is that the audio files are not playing in sync. They are all pre-loaded so any delay between files shouldn't be sought in the files not being fully loaded yet. For initiating playback in the application, I'm using a simple function with a for loop in it, which sets each instance of my sound class to start playing at position 0 of its timeline (I've added in highlighting for all of the "code" blocks in my post, to keep everything easy to read through):

Seeing as this didn't work, I have no clue what I could give a shot next... so if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated! Something else I noticed, was that if I run the application on very fast PCs, the MP3s are almost always in sync, but the PC that I'm developing on isn't that sluggish either and they hardly ever run in sync on it - so it will form a problem for pretty much all of the people who will use the application.

Externally Loading 5 Swf Files Into Main Movie?
Sep 2, 2010Im have 5 swf files that I want to play one after another on my home page.
I would like to have the first movie load and play and while that is going on have the others downloading in the background so they are ready to start when the first movie finishes.
After the 5th and last movie has played I would like it then to return to the first movie and just loop this process continually.
I have attached what I have at the moment which is a file called demand.fla that uses buttons to load in demand001, demand002, deamd003 etc.
Ideally i would like demand to load in each slide automatically and then have flashmove onto the next one after 5 seconds or so.

Aug 4, 2010i have a swf file which is a framework file done in puremvc and i m loading multiple swf files. one of the swf file loaded into the main swf file loads multiple sub swf files in it. works fine but in the loaded swf file which loads multiple swf files in it.. button dosent work at all. i m not able to click on any button. i m jst making a tree structure so can be easily understood..
container swf -> external swf -> miniSwf file and in miniSwf dynamic button are not clickable but they have all the Mouse eventListeners.

However as soon as I uploaded it to my webspace, both text boxes have the "undefined" text sitting there.. The problem doesn't exsist when I only have 1 external text file loaded..

Mar 23, 2011i have a dynamic text field in an externally loaded swf. Its a digital clock so i want the numbers to update in the dynamic text field.this is not my exact code but it is very similar. i show below that i add the loader.swf, and once its loading is complete, i can work on its movieclips and add event listeners to its buttons, etc. but i cannot change the dynamic text field (its "classic text" set to "dynamic text"). after running this, the text just stays empty as it is in the external swf).here is the sample code:-

Feb 5, 2009I have a swf with dynamic text field that loads external text. One frame only. i am trying to monitor loading progress of external txt file but i can not. Preloader just does not show anything but when it is fully loaded it just displays 100%. I usually do not have any problems with preloading swf. Here is my code and if you can tell me what is wrong that would be great. t googled for solution but i mosty found general preloading problems (not for external text)

ActionScript 2.0 :: Control Look Of Externally Loaded Text?
Nov 14, 2009I am using Flash CS3. I have a dynamic text box that scrolls text loaded from an external txt file (made in Notepad).
I was wondering if there is a way that I could better control the style (color, font size, bold, paragraph breaks, etc) of the text?? I know that in flash I can specify the font type, size and alignment. But I want to also make some parts of the text BOLD and DIFFERENT COLORS. Perhaps I can use html tags within Notepad to do this?? If so, HOW??...beacuse I have tryed and it didn't work....the tags just showed up in the flash file along with the text, it didn't read them as html (and yes, I set my dynamic text box to render html).[code]...

I also want to add a scrollbar to this field so that you can have more text than can fit in the textbox at anyone time. I have found this AS3 code to load the external text (from my 'vacancies.txt' file) in to my text box (vacanciesbox_txt):

ActionScript 2.0 :: Embedding Font In Externally Loaded HTML Text
Dec 21, 2002So, I have some HTML text loaded from a text file into a dynamic text field and I'm using an embedded font to display that text.
What I would like is to get that embedded font to show the italic tagg or underline, etc... the manual say they are supported and they do work when I don't embed a font but use a standard "arial" or whatever... When I use the embedded font, the HTML tags don't work anymore, besides the one to make links... I can understand why the italic or bold don't work since I did not embed those ones and I don't see how I could assign 3 fonts to the same text field anyway... But I thought the color or underligned would work... Anyway, when I embed the fonts, I get all kind of strange buggy behaviors (like, sometimes the text doesn't wrap inside the text field box even though it's specified in the actionscript style defnition, but sometimes it does...)Is there a way to embed fonts, not within flash, but within the HTML text itself? I mean, is there a technology that allows HTML document to display fonts that are on the server's computer instead of the computer viewing the page? So I could bypass Flash embedding the font for the HTML alltogether.

When I try to add the code to other objects it only works on one. So can anyone explain to me how I can apply the code to multiple objects? I want more than just one object to rollover glow. Also, can it work on externally loading text moveclips (ie movieclip_mc.myText01_txt)?

Dec 14, 2004I'm trying to do the tutorial on scrolling dynamicly loading text- easy enough...I don't have a scrollBar component in the UI's and when using the one from the open source tutroial it doesn't snap to/resize to text box.....then whne test movie I get **Warning** Scene=Scene 1, layer=text, frame=1:Line 1: The identifier 'loadVars' will not resolve to built-in object 'LoadVars' at runtime.

May 19, 2009I have a flash file that loads jpeg files and runs through each on the timeline. I have nav buttons to go back and forth. Here is the problem, all images load on frame 5 and I do this while another image is displayed so that they are loading in the background. I do this so that my initial file size is small, but I can load images in the background making the flash file appear to load quickly and loading other elements after it starts.
So all images load on frame 5, then I go frame by frame until I hit frame 11. If I click one of my nav buttons to go back to say, frame 7, the jpeg is gone and is no longer loaded. How to load jpeg files into the library, or at least, keep them loaded after they have loaded once? I have attached my fla file for reference. I had to rename the extension to eps, but it's a fla file, just rename the extension.

Now I am trying to load another XML files corresponding to each link. That is, if clicked on Link1, flash movie should load XML File 1, Link2 should load XML File 2 and so on.
