#1) I am having a movieclip to load a data... The thing is is it possible to load that data through its bites instead of a movieclip?
#2) I am having n number of swf files... And i am loading each and every sfwf by the url (i.e) 1.swf, 2.swf etc.. My question is it possible to load the swf by there bites instead of the url like(1.swf) ? If it can be done then please show me a direction.

I've downloaded the swf-file and the fla-file and there's three as-files used in those files. The file (fla) show that it use an external class (one of the as-files) and I think the problem is this class also affect the main-movie.
I may be wrong, but if I'm not.. how do I go around this?
I'm currently used to have the as written inside the swf/fla-files and sometimes including them, but not as a class.
I'm using loadMovie("folder/file.swf", "_root.host"); to load the first swf file into a blank movieclip named 'host'.When I try using the same code it loads the other swf file, it just closes the first one.I want to have it as more of a popup that can be closed without affecting the original swf file
View 5 RepliesI have a MovieClip which is just a progress bar animation with about 100 frames. Then I load a zip file using a URLStreamLoader and subscribe to the ProgressEvent.PROGRESS event. After loading starts I receive notifications correctly and I set the bar's corresponding frame using gotoAndStop(). Everything seems to work fine except for the animation not being visually updated.
It seems that the scene won't refresh until the zip file is fully loaded.
I am working on a website, its a project, I built custom buttons and used there own AS3 to make them play on hover. There is one problem thou, in my main scene or timeline I created this function:

Ok but it had the navigatetoURL function but I took it out. Reason is because I want these buttons to load in a movieclip (mc_loader) as external swf files. I am not sure as is to linking these buttons to the loader movieclip.
how to load photos from a XML file into flash. I have a movieclip (called PhotoMC) that has two layers, bottom layer is a square(is a graphic). Top layer is a blank MovieClip where I would like to place the image loaded from XML. I'm trying to have the movie clip(PhotoMC) load for each jpg in my xml. So basically a movieClip will be attached to the jpeg.

I'm trying to load a SWF movie into a target movieclip called blankmc. The SWF movie is loaded from an absolute URL (eg. [URL]/img/20042005113934movie3.swf ) My Loading Progress code fails to detect the SWF file size. However the same code works perfectly for a JPG! Essentially the .getBytesLoaded() and .getBytesTotal fail to work. Why is this and how can I get it to work for loading SWFs?

How would you defer loading of other graphics on the page until after the images in a Flash gallery's images.xml file are finished loading?Is there any way to detect for this, or would I only be able to check if the flash swf object is finished loading? I'm pretty sure the swf object would be loaded/ready as with document.getElementById('flashobject').onload = function(){}; before the corresponding images have loaded though, instead of after.

However, the newly loaded movie clip also needs to allow the user to load another movie into the main movie effectively swapping the first movie clip with the second. This needs to be done without using the main menu.

View 5 RepliesGot a really big problem here. I keep on getting "NetConnection.Connect.Failed" when I load a .asc file on my main.asc file, i use the method load() in my code. I really don't understand why this happens, but when i comment out the code that loads the asc file, I can successfully connect to fms. I can't figure out what's happening here. Btw, i'm using fms4 in windows 7 32bit.

I want to do this because my main file needs the SWFs to be ready to go once its done loading. I have looked around and i found a few ways to do this with the "if (loadedBytes>=totalBytes)" and the code loops back till the files are done loading... this would be just what i need but i cant seem to get it to work. the file just seems to start loading my files but does not loop and just runs the time-line even once i state what frames i want it to loop.

both main and login swfs are having resolution 1000x780.. but wen it is loaded as said above, the texts inside the loaded swf looks very large. the resolution looks as if they are different.. i haven't tried loading movieclips much. but wen i load a swf into an empty movieclip, it wrks perfectly fine...

As it takes about 6 minutes for someone on dialup to load this file, I have created a smaller swf file and loaded the larger one from it but I don't want the larger one to begin to play until it's fully downloaded. I'm using NoChumps zip library to extract files from a zip. In this library the entire IDataStream is loaded into memory and after that you can extract file entries easily. In cases where the zip is 5 to 10MB there are no problems. But when the zip is 80MB, which many are, 80MB is loaded into memory. This causes the app to crash and run slow on mobile devices. According to the zip specification,
"A ZIP file is identified by the presence of a central directory located at the end of the file, this allows appending of new files. The directory stores a list of the names of the entries (files or directories) stored in the ZIP file, along with other metadata about the entry, and an offset into the ZIP file, pointing to the actual entry data."
Also, I do not have control of the size of zip files but most average is 60 to 100MB. Files inside are ~4MB.

I have a problem loading remote XML file into SWF file. Im doing a banner for a client with adds that is supose to load constantly updated XML file from my clients server and load some images into flash form it. Everything works fine when i test the movie (CTRL+ENTER), but when i publish it and test it from explorer, XML file is just not loading into flash.

I have a main Index file to which i have to load some swf files which i have placed in a seprate folder. I tried to load those movies to main swf file using loadMovie it worked well when i give the exact path of the swf movies in subfolders. Aslo it worked when i placed the entire swf files including the Index file on a single folder, this worked only on my local machine suppose if i copy those entire folder to some other Computer and tried to run the Index file it doesnt works if it is in an single folder it works. The thing i need is the Index file alone has to be placed on the main folder and rest of the Swf file has to be placed on sub folder so when i run the index file it has to load the required swf file from sub folder this even have to work when i run the application on some other computers.
