I am trying to load a .swf using loadMovie(). The .swf has a Flash video on it. All I get is a flashing FLV icon. Is it because my original file is Actionscript 2 and the swf I'm trying to load is Flash 3? Or what?
View 1 RepliesI've inported a flv video and embeded it in one of the templates flash has, when i publish it and I go to the video.html file it plays, when i go to the video.html via my website I get the loading type image on the tracker bar. what is wrong? THe files are all linked correctly, it's video.swf as everything is in my "video" folder.

I created a simple video and I tried attaching a mouse click event to it but the event doesnt fire. Here is my code:

However one problem I have encountered is the only way I can make the buttons appear after the video is finished, is by dragging out the single frame of video on the timeline to whatever length in seconds it is multiplied by the number of frames per second.
Is there some way to maintain each linked clip in a single frame and only move to the next frame (which contains the relative buttons) after the video is finished?
I am trying to embed a facebook video on my website but it gives "Video Unavailable. this video has either has been removed from facebook or is not visible".video is public to everyone, is not deleted and I can watch it on facebook via other browsers that I am not logged in. I tried both below embed codes, neither is worked.

The setup works fine when outside facebook, but as soon as I put the setup in facebook, it stops loading the XML completely.
When I import a video to my Adobe Flash CS4 and choose to add a full screen button the full screen button does not work. I choose the "Load external video with playback component" import setting and import my flv. The volume, pause and play all work but not the full screen button. The full screen button works when I open the file in my flash player on my pc.

We just moved FMS onto a new server and the fms seems to be working fine. But when I go to load a flv in flash using the component inspector i type in the content path for where the flv is located on the fms server and it just keeps saying 'Failed to load flv'. If i type the content path for the location on the old server it loads up fine. I honestly dont know what the problem is as everything is the same as it was on the old server just a different server with different IP address.

The "page loaded" trace is being displayed, so must load the swf but not show it.
I can't even see the preloader. I also tried a very simple swf file with just some shapes and 1 frame but still no luck.
I have this streaming video player with an asyncErrorHandler function which isn't working correctly.In Flash player 10 I get no errors, but in Flash player 9 I'll get a popup window with the error message that shows up in my output window when I test on my local machine.

I'm a total begginer in flash and action script, I do have some knowledge in other programming languages.By trying to help a friend I added a contact form in his company website, that was made by someone else.his site is full flash with a index frame that loads several pages.After I built the new contact.swf and tested locally and also hosted by accessing it straight from the browser and embeded I tried to replace it with the old contact.swf that had no contact form.During the tests, everything was fine but when included in the site the form is not functioning.The form has a few rules that prevent empty fields with a green text warning. when I access it embeded separatelly in a web page it works, when I access it loaded by index.swf it does nothinh even if I press the submit button.So I assume the problem is in the index.swf action script.the button that loads the contact page has this code:

View 1 RepliesThere is a simple html page with intro video (.mp4 file). Video frame size is 1280*1024 (I need video to be as large as page up to 1280 px).
With such quality settings video file size is:
.mp4 = 42 mb (HD 1690*1080)
.flv = 32 mb (1280*1024, 25 fps)
For video playing I used as3 sample script (because there must be only playpause, replay, mute buttons with custom styles), like that

The problem is that I can't find a way to play it smoothly. It's loading in very annoying way, video is interrupted after each few seconds of playing.
I understand that the main problem is large video file size and hd quality, but may be there is some way to largely decrease .flv size or handle playback in more friendly way?
I want to build a web page with a button that when clicked opens up a javascript layer and loads a flash player inside that layer. And that layer would need a close button.

However [URL] cannot be loaded (Access Denied). Is there some way around this? (other than loading the images through a proxy). Maybe an alternative url which can be used?
View 2 RepliesWorking on a 'video heavy' Flash site that has an intro video. While the intro video is playing, assets(images,flv files) should be loaded in the background. The problem is that, while the assets are loading, the intro video play gets jittery. What can I do to make the video playing smoothly while still loading assets? It might be the single threaded nature of actionscript, not sure. After using @Demian Brecht suggested method, I noticed that the culprit might be Memory allocation. As the FLVs load the memory usage goes up by ~266MB and while the videos are written to memory, the framerate drops to 1FPS.

Recently i have visited so many video enriched flash site like this one [URL] Most of them shows video in full size. I downloaded the video using FF plugin. Video framesize is very small compared to the stage size. When i tried to add video and resize the video acoording to the page size , it slows the browser. I tried to embed the flv inside an swf and loaded the swf using normal loader and plyed it.. but the quallity and performance comapred to these site is very low..
