I've inported a flv video and embeded it in one of the templates flash has, when i publish it and I go to the video.html file it plays, when i go to the video.html via my website I get the loading type image on the tracker bar. what is wrong? THe files are all linked correctly, it's video.swf as everything is in my "video" folder.

I am currently working on a flash website that has several flv videos on it. Since the website layout has a slight tilt, I have had to transform the videos to slightly tilt as well. The problem that I am having is that when I do this the image becomes very pixelated and the edges of the video become jagged. I have somewhat fixed the edges issue by making a mask around it but i really dont know how to make the resolution better, or what causes it to loose resolution when slightly transformed. The size of the videos is the same as encoded. All I do is tilt them upwards on the right side a bit.

View 1 RepliesSo I have this slideshow, meant to just cycle through 50 or so images, loading each up for a few seconds before it goes away. It obtains the information for the images from a database.For all my testing, it works as it should in IE, Firefox, Opera, and Safari on Windows.Yet I'm repeatedly told by someone that it does not work at all on Safari on Mac, but instead just forever shows the loading movieclip I have in.Sadly, I don't have a Mac and I don't know anyone, save for this person, who owns one, thus I'm unsure what is going on, let alone how to solve it.You can view it there. I'm just at a loss for why it's having issues. Is it just a single case, or is it Safari on Mac in general, or perhaps Mac itself in general?

View 2 RepliesHowever one problem I have encountered is the only way I can make the buttons appear after the video is finished, is by dragging out the single frame of video on the timeline to whatever length in seconds it is multiplied by the number of frames per second.
Is there some way to maintain each linked clip in a single frame and only move to the next frame (which contains the relative buttons) after the video is finished?

I have created a SWF file with a button which is action scripted to load a FLV video. However I am still not sure that I am filepathing the inserted FLV file correctly. I have set the absolute file path including http://www.etc..com however the movie does not load. Is the _root correct? Should this be cleared?
View 2 RepliesI'm using the flvPlayback/flvPlaybackCaptioning components.My file works perfectly when I test the movie within Flash.When I publish it,I cannot see any video, even on my own PC.I have the fla, flv and xml files in the same directory.In flvPlayback component,I have skin set to None and I'm using a captionButton and playPauseButton.The source has the flv filename and autoPlay is set to False.In flvPlaybackCaptioning, source has the xml filename and the captionTargetName has the textbox instance.showCaption is set to False. Everything works fine until I insert the captioning elements. The captioning works perfectly when testing.I can't see where I've gone wrong.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to access a flv file on a remote server from swf. It works perfectly from my local machine going to the remote folder. But, when I upload it to my web host, it doesn't load the remote flv. I'm guessing there's some kind of permission issue on my web host. I have a crossdomain.xml file in the root dir with the following:

I need to export an animation from flash as a PNG sequence. I'd like the exported PNGs to be as small as possible so I'm checking off minimum image area instead of full doc size. But this had no effect it still uses the full doc size. I can export a single image and it works then. I deleted anything that could be altering the size. I even tried it with a simple scene with just a box and it still uses the doc size. I can scale down the doc, but that is very time consuming and won't allow for easy iteration so that's not an option. Is this a bug, does it just not work?

View 3 RepliesI'm having some resizing/full-screen difficulty with loading an external quiz swf into a video player swf. What's happening is that, when the quiz swf is first loaded into the video player, the size of the loaded swf has the correct dimensions and aspect ratio. That part is fine, but as soon as I try to fullscreen or resize the video player (using listeners with stage dimensions) the external quiz swf changes dimensions on me and looks vertically squished and smaller.
I've talked to other people about this issue, and they're telling me that this issue is occuring because the quiz swf contains elements outside of the stage. These hidden elements are supposedly giving the video player "incorrect" dimensions. Is this really the case? Is there any other solution other than fitting any hidden elements within the quiz swf within the stage? And if this is the only solution, then why on initial load does the quiz swf show up properly?
I want to build a web page with a button that when clicked opens up a javascript layer and loads a flash player inside that layer. And that layer would need a close button.
View 4 RepliesWhen I watch flash videos (mostly in hd and from youtube or gametrailers) in full screen, the frame rate becomes noticably slower. I have tried the 10.1 beta3 and this fixes the frame rate issue, but several times per video the image garbles. Everything runs fine outside of fullscreen. Otherwise I'm using Vista/Win7 64 bit with a 2.6 ghz Core 2 Duo, a radeon 4850 (latest drivers), and 2+ gigs of free memory. When running 10.1 without hardware acceleration or earlier versions with default settings my cpu usage never goes above 20% on each core. Does anyone know how to fix the image garblng or low framerates while in full screen?
View 1 RepliesI have Background layer, Bkg_Image layer & Video layer. I have embeded the flv movie on Video layer. Though on stage it shows all the layers, but when I test the movie it shows only Background layer & Video layer. I can't see the Bkg_Image layer.
The Actions layer has external swf loading AS3 which is working fine. Only the problem with Bkg_Image layer which is imprortant for me.

I am trying to display a photo within my flash plugin window, but when I pass the address of the file to the mxml code, it uses a home directory indicator, and not a full file path.For example:C:Users***DesktopPicspicture_name.jpgis passed as ~DesktopPicspicture_name.jpgAnd the mxml can't find that file because it is not in full path format.

When the videos loadinto memory, it grows by about 266MB~ and until it's 'written' the framerate drops.Is there any workaround/solution that will allow me to play an intro video while the assets load intomemory ?
View 3 RepliesI am trying to load an external .swf (actually it is only an image that I published as a swf file, not a complicated movie) but I get errors. I am trying to load the .swf into a movieclip and the movieclip appears on the stage. I have put the code in frame 1 where the image should appear (in the movieclip). The code that I used is below and works fine with a .jpg and when I load it directly on the stage, that is to say, when I put the code in a frame on the stage. Why does it not 'work' right now?
I have added 'parent' in 'parent.event.target.content.y = 200;' in the first frame of the movieclip timeline, to make sure that it will appear on the (main)stage. The error that i get is this one:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

I have masked the video clip. The masked clip is working fine. But the Actionscript 3, which contains 2 more SWF external movie clips not loading those files. Once I remove the mask they start working.

I am creating a video gallery off of the demo action script 3, video gallery, that is shown on this site. I have updated the XML file that contains the link to the thumbnails and videos to the appropriate url. When I test the project out, I get the following error:

What I want to do is create some kind of counter or tracker that keeps track of how many times each product was clicked on. I would prefer an external file to be generated and updated per new click. Is this possible?

Basically I have never done anything like this and have no idea how to go about it ... woould I use a component? What might the AS3 code look like to do something like this?
