For the application that I am developing in AIR, I have removed the chrome through the app.xml. I am managing the features of minimizing, maximizing, close, resize and all other functions from within the application. I am facing a problem with resize feature. I have defined the grips for resizing and also I am able to display my custom cursor when mouse moves over it. The problem is that only the part of this cursor is visible which lies inside the boundary of the application rest of the cursor image is hidden.For implementing the custom cursor, I do the following.Embed the cursor image.

I have a slide show script, which works, but as of now, the image will completely fade out before the next one fades in.What I want is for the next image to start fading in before the previous image completely fades out.

I am using a custom cursor for my flash app and when I have the cursor click button1 (menu_btn in the code) it goes to scene2 and when I click button2 (current_btn in the code) it goes back to scene1. The problem is that when I click on button2 it leaves an image of the cursor right there on the button. It doesn't happen on button1. It was suggested that I am calling "cursor = new Cursor();" and extra time, but I am not. The code is below.

I am presuming this is because the image hasn't finished reading the png file off the disk yet. What event can I monitor to know when it's width and height will have the right values? The 'Complete' event only seems to work for DOWNLOADED images. The 'Render' event happens EVERY FRAME. The (undocumented?) 'sourceChanged', happens as soon as source changes, and has the same problem! What event do I watch that will let me know when the image's width and height properties will have valid values? Or is there some Synchronous version of I.source='xxx.png', that I don't know about?
P.S. Yes, I know I shouldn't use "C:" in an Air Program. This was just for illustrative purposes, so that you won't suggest I use "Complete", which never even seems to fire when the file indicated by source is local.
I'm having a panel which shows an image and control bar with buttons in the form of thumbnail image of right mark. When a user clicks on the thumbnail of right mark I want to stick the thumbnail image of that right mark to the mouse pointer and when he clicks on the image, the thumbnail related image should be paste on the image. Same concept of drag and drop with click event.

I want that border of images to be of the same width and height and for that I need to find out the max width and height size image before loading all the images. Is there any way that I can know the width and height of an image before loading it completely?

1) How can I get the cursor image automatically return to the center of the stage on mouseout? As of now, it stays at the position where the mouse leaves the stage.
2) How can I reverse the movement of the mouse? So that when I, for example, move mouse to the right, the cursor image would move to the left? And when moving the mouse up, the image would go down. The stage is 800 x 250 pixels, in case that makes any difference.
i have this code which allows me to replace the mouse cursor with an image but i would also like to change the image when the mouse is clicked down using a different image. the code i am using for just replacing the mouse cursor is:

My problem is that my final .swf is embedded onto an html page and stretches for the entire width of the users screen. This means that if they have a particularly high resolution, the width of the .swf file stretches significantly beyond the initial stage settings. I'm okay with this, as I really need the .swf to fill the width of the screen.
However, it means that the cursor is able to be pointed more than 100% left or right of the stage, causing the panning image to move further left or right than it should.
What I need to know is how to get around this. I'm assuming I could set a boundary at the left and right of the stage where the code wouldn't be active?

I am trying to replicate this close up feature on Modavo's watch website. [URL].. I looks like the have a large image of the watch, masked over a thumbnail of the watch. Then when the mouse rolls over the stage the mask appears and follows the cursor. When the mouse rolls off, the mask disappears.

I have two different background images for my navigation bar. I want the two images to crossfade between each other incrementally depending on the position of the mouse cursor. I was thinking I could do this with an OnClipEvent (mouseMove) and an attach movie command, but I'm not really sure how that works... like I said, i'm just starting out, and I'm thinking I've bitten off more than I could chew.

I have a presentation to do using Flash on Wednesday and have been warned by my university that files MUST be in CS4 format. So, having used CS5 to create the whole site/presentation how much will I lose back-saving it to CS4? I'm worried I'm going to have to do a lot of the same work twice.

My application (AS3) uses Flash Player right-click zoom feature. However, when zoomed in I cannot drag when the cursor is over an image, navigation bar or active area.This makes the menu and several other pages impossible to navigate when zoomed in.The only option is for the user to zoom out and then zoom back in on the next area they want to look at.how default dragging can be enabled when cursor is over an image/ moviclip?

I have a main class that generates three clickable textfields (lessons). Clicking a specific lesson starts the appropriate lesson. However, once the lesson starts, I am unable to detect any mouseevents. I do not use any mouseevents in any of the lessons so I am baffled about what happened to my mouse eventlisteners. Even though I can see the nextLesson button, nothing happens when clicked. If I click it before starting my lesson, my trace indicates that I have clicked it. Do I need my lessons to somehow self-terminate when done and if so, how would I go about this. I currently use the browsers back arrow to terminate the complete session.
View 3 RepliesI'm having an issue with an FLV video playback in a scene. When I go to fullscreen mode, I seem to lose the ability to adjust the video object.
I am loading a new video via FLVPlayerback(). Since the video is being loaded into the scene on top of everything else, I use swapChildren() to put my button back on top of the video. When the video is done playing, I removeChild() the video.
This works in the normal playstate.
However, if I am in fullscreen mode, swapChildren() and removeChild both do not work. If I exit fullscreen mode, they are indeed working.
I have a strange problem with LocalConnection.Situation: A sample e-shop. I have a parent .swf who load 3-4 external swf.In a external swf (let's name it "X") u can order items u want.
Because i don't want to lose the informations of the 'shopping' bag of customer when the parent swf unload the 'X' and load something another (for example "contact us"), i use localconnection with both duplex between parent swf and 'X'.
Problem: In the swf "X" i have an array "Bag" which holds the id of items the customer clicked to buy. When change the external swf, i send via localconnection to the parent .swf this array (done, i tried with trace).

I need to do this project for school and I'm missing this one thing. I'm working in actionscript3 and have a panoramic picture of a room, that I'd like to move/slide(left and right) whenever the mouse cursor hovers near the edge of the screen. I'd also like to loop that image, so that you could slide it for eternity :) I tried to find a script for that but apparently the language barrier is too much for me.

I'm using the following function to pass characters to 2 text input components, but sometimes (and much more often with the "Password" field), after I click a button, the button loses focus and I have to move the mouse to regain the rollover state and be able to click the button again. When I've lost focus, if I click the mouse, it just changes the button to the rollover state but doesn't pass the value...

After a user clicks a button the getURL passes some variables to a js function that displays an html lightbox type effect. After closing the lightbox and returning to the page underneath all of the buttons are now no longer clickable
View 2 Repliesbasically, what am doing is that am running a flash file (playing music) in the background of the app using webview, and when I want to stop the music , I just load "about:blank".I want to keep the flash file running (music) when my app gets paused (which works fine so far) the problem is when the app resumes, pressing on pause button launches a new webview instead of changing the link in the previous one and the sound doesn't stop.the only solution I found was to kill the process and restart the app, but that's not practical, any idea of how to still be able to use the same webview when resuming the app ?
Update: guess I wasn't clear enough, I have a webview widget stated as "gone" , I only need the audio form the flash file I'm running in the webview so the "play" button loads a URL that contains the flash file (so the user only hears music, and doesn't notice that I'm using a webview), when I press the back/home button the music doesn't stop (I like it that way) but when I go back and press on play again it loads another url in a new page, you get double music
Without AutoHotkey and Firefox -unfocus since it's involved in operating another program and it doesn't work on linux and without Restore Window Focus After Flash addon since doesn't give you control over flash tabs.implementing this gBrowser.selectedTab.unfocus(); method and bind it to a keystroke in Firefox v3.6 ?I've also tried (based on the addon above)

I want my flash movie to go to a specific frame when the user moves the cursor away from the actual swf file (rollout) in the html page.
I tried different things, for instance having a big transparent movieclip in the background and use hitTest:

I am loading some bitmaps(transparent pngs) that I want to scale and remain smooth. We all know the problems with flash player 8+ anti-aliasing the images and not allowing the images to be forced to be smoothed. I want the png to retain its transparency. I use flash8 actionscript 2.
