I want my flash movie to go to a specific frame when the user moves the cursor away from the actual swf file (rollout) in the html page.
I tried different things, for instance having a big transparent movieclip in the background and use hitTest:
//this code is in the root level
this.createEmptyMovieClip('penCheck', 100000);
this.penCheck.ref = this;
this.penCheck.onEnterFrame = function() {
[code].....
This doesn't work until the user clicks outside the flash (flash loses focus).
Without AutoHotkey and Firefox -unfocus since it's involved in operating another program and it doesn't work on linux and without Restore Window Focus After Flash addon since doesn't give you control over flash tabs.implementing this gBrowser.selectedTab.unfocus(); method and bind it to a keystroke in Firefox v3.6 ?I've also tried (based on the addon above)
if (document.getElementsByTagName("EMBED").length == 0) { return; } if (document.activeElement.tagName == "EMBED") {
I need to be able to make the flash player lose focus to the browser by actionscript alone (when the user clicks a button) or whatever, but from within the flash player, not from the user actually clicking outside of the flash player.These are embedded flash files with allowScriptAccess="never", so I can not use ExternalInterface at all to call browser js to window.focus or whatever.
Very strange. I'm using the following function to pass characters to 2 text input components, but sometimes (and much more often with the "Password" field), after I click a button, the button loses focus and I have to move the mouse to regain the rollover state and be able to click the button again. When I've lost focus, if I click the mouse, it just changes the button to the rollover state but doesn't pass the value...
Here's the code: var Focus:String = ""; function KeyPadButtonClick(_id:Number) { // default the focus to the UserID if (this.Focus == "") { this.Focus = "UserID"; [Code] .....
After a user clicks a button the getURL passes some variables to a js function that displays an html lightbox type effect. After closing the lightbox and returning to the page underneath all of the buttons are now no longer clickable
when i have this line active(the red one) it gives me automatic focus, so no clicking to be able to detect key input so i got that going for me which is nice BUT when i have it active(not commented out) i get this big yellow line which goes away when i click it(seeBelow)
I really don't need happening after spending a week figuring out why some code didn't work, only to rewrite it and have it suddenly start working. I guess it's the classic case of running into more, more serious problems right after making an extremely good breakthrough!.Anyways, my problem is that my dynamically drawn sprites with the PerspectiveProjection property set on each, all of which are contained in a movieclip (which is at stage-level), no longer have MouseEvent functionality - at this point, I think anything past regular Events no longer work, but my stack of important issues eats up all time I have to test.
Before I started having issues, I was using just a scale effect to simulate the 3D-ness of the movie. After figuring out why past attempts at using Z axis on these sprites failed, I decided to add the perspective part to the transforming of each of these sprites. Ever since then, Mouse functionality just simply does not work. No errors are thrown, no runtime errors are displayed, yet the trace function does NOT work within the functions (meaning it isn't the content of the function not working) - simply does not want to do anything!Other animations and such work perfectly fine - i.e. tweening the X, and Y values, etc
Just wanted to ask is it possible for a flash app to capture mouse and keyboard events when it loses focus. I've tried putting it in a div container through SWFObject library and than used jquery forward mouse events plugin, but without success. My idea was to capture mouse events (click event) on the body and then transfer it to the flash app
I have a map application that when I use the mouse wheel the map will scale up or scale down. The next thing I want to do is to focus on the mouse pointer while zooming on the part of the map.
I have this code...
function focusMousePosition(){ onMouseMove = function (){ Stage.width = _root._xmouse; Stage.height = _root._ymouse; updateAfterEvent(); }} var mouseWheelListener = new Object();var wheelNum:Number; mouseWheelListener.onMouseWheel = function(wheelNum){ focusMousePosition(); if (wheelNum > 0){ map._xscale *= 0.9; map._yscale *= 0.9; }else{ map._xscale *= 1.1; map._yscale *= 1.1; }}Mouse.addListener(mouseWheelListener);
i got a MC that follows mouse movement with easing in y-axis.[code]but i only want it to follow the mouse only when the mouse is on top of this MC.using that script, the MC will follow no matter where i placed the mouse.
In ActionScript 3, I need to detect a sequence of movements made by the mouse when the button is down.I've read this question, and it seems a bit overkill. I only need to detect the 8 basic directions (up/down/left/right/diagonals), so that I can detect a "Z".
Is posible? Flex app detect word when mouse over on message in pdf file. Now have some project translate language with tooltip or pop-up when mouse over on it. I found some code can detect word (string) on TextField class but not in pdf.
I have a background which scroll's when the mouse is at the edge of the flash window - RTS style. If the mouse cursor goes outside the window I want it to stop scrolling, but flash reads the cursor position as the last place it was, when it was still within the flash window.I know I've done this before, but I can't at all remember how!Is there an event I can listen for or something similar?
By biggest problem is that when I hit a wall, my object stops moving, but the mouse arrow still moves, and it is very likely that eventually the mouse cursor will reach the limits of the screen, making it impossible to move the object to the left (assuming the cursor has hit the left side of the screen).I am now using the following scripting:
I have a lengthy text running in flash movie. I want the movie clip to be stopped (meaning pause) when the mouse roll over on it to read the content... and when the mouse roll out from the movie it should be played continuously. ( not from the beginning. ) how to write the code snippets?
the stage I have created a button, and inside that button I have created a movie clip with 15 still frames of an animation I want played when mouse rolls over the button. As you'd expect it plays fine when the mouse does roll over and it stops on the last frame as I have typed the stop(); command.How do I get that same animation to reverse, and play backward when I roll out?
I'm working on a UI and I'm using a MouseOver of a MovieClip to trigger the play of animation in the exact same position.It works well, except if the mouse is moving too fast. Then it seems the playback gets stuck.
I'm just wondering if there are any ways to make this more responsive? I'm also wondering if having the MouseOver and the resulting animation could be causing the issue..[URL]...
I have a Flash movie that is embedded in an HTML page that has a DIV in a layer over the top of the movie. The Flash movie scrolls based on the mouse position over the movie. The client wants the scrolling to stop when the mouse is over the DIV. I've tried using the mouseLeave event, but that is not triggered by the DIV.
Is there a way that the Flash movie can detect when the mouse is over the DIV?[code]...
The main FLA has buttons linked to external swf files that are nested in a layer inside an html file. When rollover occurs, it opens up corresponding swf file. Problem is that when a user moves mouse too quickly over the stage, the rollout gets stuck in the last button the mouse posssibly passed by.
I'd like to make a button, but also with rollout state, thus I have to make it from MovieClips.All I have done is that incorporated three MC (up_mc, rollover_mc, rollout_mc) into a btn_mc,and applied some AS code to call the different mc-s at different mouse states.I attached an fla made with MX to show how I imagined.. but still does not work.
I have a cursor class and i wanna make it so the cursor change to state 'over' whenever the hand cursor is there. I dont want to add an event listener for every roll over in my page.
I've some very old Flash applications, which we don't want to rebuild to add a new feature. We simply need to detect when the user has become idle. So, if the Flash application receives no key or mouse events after 3 minutes, we want to track that time till the user interacts with the application again.
We've considered wrapping the applications in newer Flash applications to include the key/mouse event tracking; however, early research shows that some of our apps are so old that they use event systems or AVM's (ActionScript Virtual Machines) that are incompatible. Also, it seems that mouse events on the inner application don't bubble up to the outer application. (I think the direction of event processing is backwards in versions of Flash prior to 8)
Anyhow, the next idea on the table is to see if we can determine when the user stops interacting with the old Flash applications using JavaScript. Can anyone confirm whether or not it is possible to detect, using JavaScript only, when a swf in an HTML document loses focus or key and mouse events stop and start occurring on the swf?
what i am trying to achieve is have a rollover on a button that pops up a 'window' with some text on it (i have this bit worked out) then once the user has finished reading the text they rollout from the 'window' and the image behind is restored. i have attached the .fla so you can see what i mean.
what is going wrong is that the active part of the rollover on the button is only very small and as the 'window' expands and then reveals the text, the active part of the button remains small. so when the user moves his or her mouse the 'window' disappears. i'd like it to stay open until they rollout from the entire text window.
I have a flash piece that replaces the mouse with a knife/sword graphic. When the user clicks (anywhere) the knife animates, 'slashing' the background. The click does something like..knife.gotoAndPlay(2);The animation is about 10 frames long... The problem is sometimes the click does nothing, as if it takes a single click just to focus the mouse. Rapid-clicking seems to have the desired effect if it wasn't for the aforementioned bug. I've tried a mouse listener as well as the standard on... methods and I'm still having the issue.Also, unfortunately due to client restrictions I'm having to code this flash piece in AS2 as opposed to AS3.
I've created something that works like a ToolTip in my Flex application. When I roll over a certain item renderer, I pop up a new control, position it, and remove it on roll out. The order of operations is like this:
Roll over event handler triggered. Add the tooltip to this.systemManager.topLevelSystemManager.toolTipChildren. On creation complete of my tooltip, set x, set y coordinates of the tooltip (on creation complete so the width and height are calculated since they are dynamic). Roll out event handler triggered. Remove tooltip.
This worked fine when I set the x and y coordinates to be x+10, y+10 from the current mouse position. I wanted to add something that re-positioned the tool-tip if it was going to be drawn partially off screen. I added a step that would calculate if it would be drawn off screen, and re-position the tooltip if it was going to be cut off.
The problem with my solution seems to be that it now runs in an infinite loop of redraws, since adding the tool-tip to the screen underneath the mouse triggers the "rollOut" on the item renderer. This triggers the removal of the tooltip, and starts the process over again from 1.
is there any way to ignore tooltip so it doesn't take the mouse focus away from the item renderer that is now under it?
basically, what am doing is that am running a flash file (playing music) in the background of the app using webview, and when I want to stop the music , I just load "about:blank".I want to keep the flash file running (music) when my app gets paused (which works fine so far) the problem is when the app resumes, pressing on pause button launches a new webview instead of changing the link in the previous one and the sound doesn't stop.the only solution I found was to kill the process and restart the app, but that's not practical, any idea of how to still be able to use the same webview when resuming the app ?
Update: guess I wasn't clear enough, I have a webview widget stated as "gone" , I only need the audio form the flash file I'm running in the webview so the "play" button loads a URL that contains the flash file (so the user only hears music, and doesn't notice that I'm using a webview), when I press the back/home button the music doesn't stop (I like it that way) but when I go back and press on play again it loads another url in a new page, you get double music
