i got a MC that follows mouse movement with easing in y-axis.[code]but i only want it to follow the mouse only when the mouse is on top of this MC.using that script, the MC will follow no matter where i placed the mouse.
I have a lengthy text running in flash movie. I want the movie clip to be stopped (meaning pause) when the mouse roll over on it to read the content... and when the mouse roll out from the movie it should be played continuously. ( not from the beginning. ) how to write the code snippets?
the stage I have created a button, and inside that button I have created a movie clip with 15 still frames of an animation I want played when mouse rolls over the button. As you'd expect it plays fine when the mouse does roll over and it stops on the last frame as I have typed the stop(); command. How do I get that same animation to reverse, and play backward when I roll out?
I'm working on a UI and I'm using a MouseOver of a MovieClip to trigger the play of animation in the exact same position. It works well, except if the mouse is moving too fast. Then it seems the playback gets stuck.
I'm just wondering if there are any ways to make this more responsive? I'm also wondering if having the MouseOver and the resulting animation could be causing the issue..[URL]...
The main FLA has buttons linked to external swf files that are nested in a layer inside an html file. When rollover occurs, it opens up corresponding swf file. Problem is that when a user moves mouse too quickly over the stage, the rollout gets stuck in the last button the mouse posssibly passed by.
I'd like to make a button, but also with rollout state, thus I have to make it from MovieClips. All I have done is that incorporated three MC (up_mc, rollover_mc, rollout_mc) into a btn_mc,and applied some AS code to call the different mc-s at different mouse states.I attached an fla made with MX to show how I imagined.. but still does not work.
I want my flash movie to go to a specific frame when the user moves the cursor away from the actual swf file (rollout) in the html page. I tried different things, for instance having a big transparent movieclip in the background and use hitTest:
//this code is in the root level this.createEmptyMovieClip('penCheck', 100000); this.penCheck.ref = this; this.penCheck.onEnterFrame = function() {
[code].....
This doesn't work until the user clicks outside the flash (flash loses focus).
what i am trying to achieve is have a rollover on a button that pops up a 'window' with some text on it (i have this bit worked out) then once the user has finished reading the text they rollout from the 'window' and the image behind is restored. i have attached the .fla so you can see what i mean.
what is going wrong is that the active part of the rollover on the button is only very small and as the 'window' expands and then reveals the text, the active part of the button remains small. so when the user moves his or her mouse the 'window' disappears. i'd like it to stay open until they rollout from the entire text window.
I need some help figuring out why my rollout is not working on this menu:I put some little close buttons at the bottom just to link them closed for now.Rollout isn't working. My code for each link is a movie clip with two frames for example links on "mens"Frame 1:
I am trying to figure out how to make a bottom bar similar to the one seen ontions inside the bar- here's what I've got so far:as you can see I have a date/time MC inside the bar_mc which is working fine but whenever I try to have a new rollover/rollout movieclip (or button) inside the bar_mc it won't work/won't show rollover animation.
I know this question has been asked a thousand times already, but I simply can't get it to work. I've looked at various other threads posts, but none of them seem to work. Here's what I'm trying to do: I have a button (Instance name: "go") and a MC (instance name: "fader"). Now, I want the MC to fade in on rollOut and fade out on rollOut. Currently, I have this code: In frame 1 of my movie: (taken from this thread)
I'm new at Flash and getting frustrated rather quickly. I created an swf file in After Effects. I imported the swf file into my flash library. I placed the swf file in my scene. I placed an invisible button over the swf file. I want the swf file to play on rollover, and immediately stop on rollout. I have tried two sets of code, neither works. In both cases the swf file will start to play on rollover, but plays until the end even on rollout.
FIRST CODE SET: on (rollOver) { gotoAndPlay(2); } on (releaseOutside, rollOut) { gotoAndStop(1); } on (release) { [Code] .....
This seems like it should be the most straightforward thing you can possibly do in Flash, and it just isnt working in a logical manner.
There is a flash which have a small navigation on the buttom. There is a small arrow on the buttom when the mouse rollover on the arrow the arrow is gone dissaper and the navigation show on the stage. When i rollout the mouse its collaps but when my mouse pointer is in the swf area. If i have rollout quickly form the navigation out of the swf area (on html). It's not working.

I have a simple graphic in Scene One which when you mouse over it, it changes to Scene Two where there are several round buttons that people can navigate with. What I want is that when the mouse is dragged away from the stage where the buttons are in Scene Two, you are taken back to Scene one. I can't seem to work this out. I only to want to go back to Scene One when the mouse is completely out of the SWF.
I made another button and made a square hit point that covers the stage and put that on the level above the other round button levels but this then doesn't allow you to activate and click the buttons underneath the square button. I just want a rollOut when the mouse comes completely off the SWF back to Scene One. Am I missing something?
I have an issue with the attached project (Flash 8). On the rollOver event, the shapes are supposed to turn yellow. On the rollOut event, the shapes should fade back to blue.It works well except in the case when you quickly rollOver then rollOut several times (try it with the largest shape at the bottom). If you do it fast enough, it seems to get hung on 'blue', the initial color.
I have these little menu tags which move down when you roll over them. Then, if you click one, it stays down. Then the other menu tags move down when you roll over them, until you click one, at which point the previous tab moves back to original position. (I'm sure that makes little to no sense... so look here: [URL]. Anyway, it works great for the first couple of seconds, then after a while (especially after a click) some of the menu's don't return to their previous position. My fla is attached, but here is my script.
have a flash (as3) file that has 40 some odd buttons and as you roll over each of them, a larger image appears in one of my 10 loaders on stage... straight forward enough. Now, on rollover of the buttons, i have the script fading in each of the large images, and on roll-off, they fade out. My issue being, that as I run my mouse across a row of the buttons, most of the time it works perfectly, but every now and then, an image (usually an almost gone image) remains I am assuming hitting another button has interrupted that tween fade but not sure how to remedy / avoid this.
so I'm currently working on a project where I will have the user mouse over an image (in this instance, a paint can) and ideally a menu should scroll up with information (which is a movie clip) and when the mouse comes off the menu would scroll back in. What I've currently got going is the paint can image as a button, and on another layer I've got the movie clip at 0% opacity. The action itself works, but the point in which the user has to mouse over is very finicky. There must be something I'm missing. I've worked with Flash years ago, so I'm a bit choppy.
I've been searching around and can't quite seem to find the answer. I gather it's a problem with actionscript, but, i digress.
What's going on is if I move my mouse too fast it won't activate either the RollOver or RollOut, and it'll just stay. Is there a certain way I need to set everything so it will NO MATTER WHAT animate when rolledover, and then ALWAYS RollOut?
Anyways, click on that link. As you can see I've set it up so that clicking on one will change the color of the other. As well, they have a rollover to another color.
But, I want to add a rollout thing to each link so that when I rollout the link will go back to the color it was before I rolled over.
Right now it stays with the rollover color and when I add a rollout thing it is constrained to one color. I need it to be adaptive to each situation as I will be adding more links and more colors down the road.
I just need a rollout action that will not change it to a certain color, just the color it was before I rolled over.
If you understood that at all answer. If not, tell me or ask a question to clear it up. I might even whip up a larger version of it with more colors to make it clearer, but only if you need.
I have a button which on ROLLOVER shows a MOVIECLIP on the stage and on ROLLOUT it should remove it from the stage.Check out this code which perfectly works as i want
[Code]...
but my problem is wen i go back to same button after a rollover, the movie clip doesnt show or code does not respond.
The problem I am having is, I am creating a flash animation on a movie clip.. When the user rolls over the area, the movie animates, and as they roll out of the area, the movie animates again..This isn't a very big deal but, I dont want the cursor to change from the default.. But the OnRollOver property tells the mouse cursor to flip to a hotlink cursor.. Is there a way to prevent that?
I have a dropdown menu that animates into place. I have the main button triggering an animated drop down menu that slides into place. On rollout I would like that to animated back . Currently it just closes. Is there a way to have the actionscript reverse the animation from the current frame to the one it started on? Basically on Rollout, I would like the animation to just reset. Here is the FLA. Only the "Web Development" button is scripted yet.
In flash 8, I have a movie clip("mc"), and when you roll over it, it runs a script that makes sparks. What I'd like to do is have the script STOP running when you roll out, but I'm not sure how to do this. Can anyone help? Here's the script[code]...
I created a MC that will play when you rollover a button and play again on rollout. Here comes the problem. If you rollout this MC before the animation comes to stop, it will stop at the stop point and won't continue playing until you rollover again which then looks (and actually is) as a bug.
I am creating an expandable banner, I am able to load the expanded swf upon rollover, however I am trying to figure out how to remove the loaded swf on rollout, and therefore return to the unexpanded state.
Here is my actionscript:
function onOver(evt:MouseEvent) :void { var photo:Loader = new Loader(); photo.load(new URLRequest("expanded.swf"));
I want to have a few menu buttons on my web page (home, about, contact etc.) and above them a bar (we'll call it 'grey bar' to make it a little easier to understand). When you roll over one of the buttons I want a small 'orange bar' to run along the 'grey bar' and stay over the button that you are hovering over. Then if you choose to rollout of the button the 'orange bar' will return to the page destination button that you're on. For example, if you are on the homepage the 'orange bar' begins over the 'home' button, then if you rollover 'about us' the 'orange bar' moves along the grey bar horizonatally to stay above 'about us', if you rollout it returns to 'home'.
Sorry if this isn't making much sense, i've attached the flash file so you can see what i am working with. I am just looking for a tutorial or some actionscript that will make it work. It's driving me crazy, I don't know if i should be looking to use a startDrag function (but i don't think you can use this with a rollover function) or a way to get the bar to follow the mouse.
