AS3 script that detect if the mouse has no movement for 1min +no keyboard activity, it will call a function to change the frame in TimeLine.

By biggest problem is that when I hit a wall, my object stops moving, but the mouse arrow still moves, and it is very likely that eventually the mouse cursor will reach the limits of the screen, making it impossible to move the object to the left (assuming the cursor has hit the left side of the screen).I am now using the following scripting:

I am looking for a script to detect if the mouse has not moved for say 15 seconds or 30 seconds, and if this is the case then, its plays some movie-clip or follows with the next scene.

so in as3 there is a nifty event listener for if the mouse has left the stage area, there is however, nothing of the sort in as2. so, Im trying to figure out how to go about this, Im thinking an onEnterFrame function that listens for eitherA.) no Movementor B.) the same x and y position for an extended period of time.Im thinking the no movement would do the trick but what should I be checking for on the onEnterFrame, and how would I tie setInterval into it? what properties would I check for if I used an IF/THEN statement?

I wanna detect the direction of mouse movement. If the mouse moves tpwards the left or right of its currrent position, i want to detect it. Is there anyway to identify such movement. Actually i am implementing a 360 degree rotation of image. That means , if the mouse moves along the left side of its current position, then the image should move along its left side, otherwise it should move along the right side. This is really a two part question. First, is it possible to detect if Flash is installed on an Android device? Second, if it is installed, is it possible to display a flash video in an Activity? I'm thinking you'd have to use a WebView widget within your Activity to display the Flash content instead of something like a VideoView. Is Flash even supported within the WebView widget or is it only supported by the actual Browser app?

I have to detect avtivityLevel of microphone in Flex. I am using the activityLevel property of Microphone class but as I found out it always return -1 even if I have done Microphone.getMicrophone(). To detect activity level we have to set microphone.setLoopback = true;
how to do this without using loop back as I do not want to hear my sound back just monitor the activity level

i am trying to detect the microphone activity level. In windows XP, it's returing the activity level. But in windows vista, even if the mic is not connected it's returning an activity level. has anyone come across like this.what is the problem?

I have a very large projector movie with many loaded in swf files. I want to make it so as you are reading and viewing the whole movie the screensaver is not active. I then want it so after 10 minutes of no activity a screensaver (or movieclip in the movie) starts playing and then goes away when there is activity again. How do I do this? What would be the best way... just have the screensaver (movieclip) the only thing in the first scene and it just goes to this after 10 minutes?

I have an invisible movieclip over some buttons/images. I have it so that on mouse over that invisible button the images start panning from one to the next. The thing is that these images/buttons are supposed to be clickable, but with the invisible movieclip on top I just can't do that. Is there a way to force mouse activity on the buttons/images?
I've tried simply adding a movieclip to the back of the buttons/images and make the MOUSE_OVER listener on the whole movieclip that holds all the images but for some reason whenever the mouse goes from one image to the next it pauses the movement and then continues it, which looks like it identifies different movieclips (images/buttons AND the mc in the back) and re-does the MOUSE_OVER listener for each of them instead of the whole movieclip that holds all of them.

I would like to create some text on the stage that does not respond to mouse activity. I've found that after adding a piece of text to a class I am using to draw, it covers up some of the mousing area of my class and disables the user from being able to roll over the other graphical elements...
Is there something like:

I have a mc (fStrip) which looks like a piece of filmstrip with thumbnail images in it. I want this mc to move when the users mouse is positioned over it, but I only want it to move only along it's x-axis and in a direction opposite that of the mouse. And I want it to move or flow smoothly.
I've been trying to figure this out (see my lame attempt below) but without much luck.

on the stage, ther's a box. you can move the box with the left and up key.i have 3 problems:
1. the movement isnt smooth, can i make the movement smooth without modyfing the speed?
2. i want that when you press the left and up key simulteanously the box will move diagonaly.
3.when you press and hold a key, the box just moves a little and after 1 second (or something like this) the box starts to move continously. can I make the box to move continously immediatly after you are pressing a key.

Now, instead of having the _xmouse determine the position, I want to hit the 'forward/backward' keys on the keyboard, and make it hop smoothly forward or backward a 100 pixels. Im just confused where to add what, and I am continuing to work on it. This is being programmed in Flash MX 2004.

I am working on a game project and i have a question about movie clip movement using keyboard event. Basically I have a character on screen and it can move on the x axis using the left and right buttons. I am making my character move by changing the x value of the character movieclip but I find very it laggy and not smooth and if I am going point by point then it's too slow. Whats the best way to make the character move so that the transition will be smooth.

Im having a problem getting responsive keyboard movement. I have a key_up listener which fails to trigger when 3 keys are down. E.g. Imagine up and right keys are being pressed to move up + right. The user wants to change to moving up + left. The user presses the left key before lifting thg right key. I have a key_up listener to detect when a key is no longer being pressed. However in this scenario it fails to trigger when 3 keys are pressed. Even in this online example, there is the same problem, look how unresponsive it is when chaging from up right to up left really quickly. [URL]

I've been having a problem I've been working on for multiple hours now with no luck. I have movement bound to arrow keys and the user looks around via the mouse. When I shoot I want it to continue off in the direction it initially started, but what happens is if the user moves the mouse the bullets change directions with it.[code]...I think what is causing the problem is that when I push the bullets into the array they're all sharing the effects of the user moving the mouse instead of keeping their initial value.

It's worked up until now. I know that all the keys except the last one work because they carry out their function and the trace on DOWN works. However, for the last one, I've tried W and ALTERNATE (and got errors) and ESCAPE and TAB (both not doing anything, not even returning the trace).

After Apple released Safari 5, it seems that even after you focus on the Flash (by clicking on it), Safari still recognizes those commands for itself. One annoying problem is than when I am editing in text field, Safari will go to the previous page upon pressing backspace. Is it possible to overcome the problem by any AS3 code?

I am struggling with an issue at the moment related to mouse events or more specifically mouse movement. I have found that moving the mouse in my game causes it to slow down. Rapidly moving the mouse can actually freeze the game, I believe EnterFrame events are actually dropped when the mouse is moving rapidly.
I thought at first that it must be something I coded incorrectly so I used the Flex 4 Beta's performance tools and analyzed the Flash 10 SWF that I build using Flash CS4. Mouse Events were the leading performance hog by far.
Whenever the mouse moved the CPU usage would skyrocket. I then tried an empty Flash App with no Actionscript, I had the same CPU spike.
So if I'm getting this problem with a Blank SWF how come I don't see this problem talked about all over the internet, how is every other Flash Developer not running into this problem?
