May 3, 2008Does anyone know how to have a preloader that shows a percent indicator when you are caching a shared library. The way I have it set up now is on the first frame of my main swf.playback is stopped until the trigger.swf (which calls the sharedlibrary.swf via the loadClip method) is cached. While it's stopped I just have a screen that says "now loading" (which is just some text on the main time line's keyframe) but I was wondering if there was a way to add a nice percent preloader instead. If anyone has read the book Flash 8 Beyond the Basics fromhey'll will probably know what I am talking about. I assume the script would need to monitor the caching of the shared library

ActionScript 3.0 :: Preloader Percent To Include Main Movie And External .swf
Apr 4, 2011I need a preloader to include an external .swf (iPhone_334x500.swf) that is dynamically added later in the timeline. Currently, the preloader goes to 100% and then begins to load the external swf before completing and going to frame 2. Rather than just appear to sit at 100% for 20 secs while it is still loading my external swf, I would like to include the external swf's load time in the preloader data.
This is my "preloader" code on frame 1, which is empty except for the AS. (Just a basic bar and percent preloader.) I included all of my code just in case, so please ignore the font embedding and masking if it makes it easier.

Mar 26, 2007I am feeling creative & think it would be cool to have a preloader that isn't just the standard bar preloader.
What I have in mind is to have a word being spelled out as the page is loaded. So the loader 'fills' from point A to point B, but not necessarily along a straight line.
It would need to follow a path. I've seen various animated preloaders but they all seem to go along a straight line, even if bubbling or moving.

Dec 12, 2009I have 5 page to load and I want them to load all at the same time. The address (not real) of the pages could be: [URL]s. In each folder, there's a index.html that have a swf called main.swf in it. So for example, if someone writes [URL] I want a preloader to start and load the 5 main.swf in the 5 folders and when it's done, it should play the main.swf of the address written (in this example contact).
So in this example I imagine I would have a preloader.swf in every folder, since I want to be sure that the user will preload the entire website whatever the way he uses to enter it (from index-from sitemap-from direct address or bookmark). In other words, if I have four images, I want them to preload with a single progress bar representing the total of all four, and then start the movie after all four have finished loading.

1. Preloads multiple external swf files into a single movie holder.
2. Starts automatically preloading once the parent file is launched.
3. Contains a progress bar with % downloaded.
4. Can be placed on a "Preload" scene.
Working on the file in Flash CS3, AS2. I've looked at tutorials, scanned the web, etc. And I still can't find the right one, or even how to make one.
