ActionScript 2.0 :: Mouse - Click On Any Link - Cursor Refuses To Just Appear
Oct 15, 2004
i have a problem with this simple effect -the mouse follow. Actually, on my splash screen, i have tow tiny lines which i intend to follow thw mouse, one in the x-direction and the other y-direction. but only one works. and it's difficult to click on any link. The curcor refuses to just appear. if i disable one, the other works. i used onenterframe, and "lock to Rectangle" in Normal mode)
I changed the mouse cursor using a tutoral from this forum, but when I press the right mouse button, the standard mouse cursor reapears. How to prevent that?
I am using a flash swf from the website[url]...where it allows me to upload images via an xml file to the flash movie. However the flash movie is changing the mouse cursor to hand-cursor when passing the mouse on it, and also it is allowing users to click on the movie, while I wanted to leave the mouse cursor to remain as an arrow, and prevent users from clicking on it, I tried the following code, whereby I used another flash movie to call the dewslider swf, but in IE it is not working, although in firefox it is ok..[code]...
Working on a small kiosk app that runs in Firefox for Ubuntu. Mouse.hide() works for everything else, but the cursor is showing up in Firefox for Ubuntu
I am trying to make a simple game in flash it is a target shooting game i would like to make it so that the mouse cursor dissapears and a crosshair is shown as the cursor (if you get what i mean). I have created the crosshair and made it into a graphic symbol called: "crosshair" so what is the script i need to make it the cursor for the game
in the swf, when my mouse reaches a dynamic text box, the cursor always changes to the 'I' cursor and the text can be highlighted.how to prevent this from occurring?
how to change the cursor when move over a chart in flex i have tried useHandCursor="true" but it's not working in charts.....and it should show values also....
i made a video player with the xml playlist , it's a video channel indeed, it's embed swf in html. but my boss would like me to put a link on the web, when user click the link, it would directly play the specific video inside the video channel. is it possible to do it without server side script but javascript?
As of Flash 10.2, Flash supports hardware accelerated mouse cursors:[URL]..Unfortunately, the mouse cursor doesn't update until AFTER the mouse moves. You can see this behavior on the web page above. If you click "Set to custom cursor" in the sample app at the bottom of the article, you'll see that the cursor doesn't change until you move the mouse.
Anyone have a trick for updating the mouse cursor immediately, before the user moves the mouse? I tried doing Mouse.hide(); Mouse.show(); but that doesn't work.
I'm making a drawing application, everythings looks and works ok, except for one thing...My mouse cursor is hidden and a paintbrush like cursor follows it. This cursor is a movieclip, because the user chooses a color, and the tip of this paintbrush changes to the selected color. But there's one problem... when I draw to the left the line is drawed with no problem, but when I draw to the right, the line is interrupted, and I don't understand why.I made one experiment, and with no movieclip "attached" to the mouse cursor, the line is drawed with no problem, both to the right and left.
I have a flash file and I want to be able to hover over it and see the cursor change and when I click I want to be sent to a page I specify on a website.
I've tried "on(release) etc" in ActionScript (although I know nothing!) and it says I need to use NavigateToURL so I tried searching on the Internet and couldn't find anything?
I'm using Windows 7, Flash CS5, Flash Player 9, ActionScript 3.0 I created a slideshow with links on a few of the slides. My problem is that the Hand Cursor doesn't always appear on the slide with a link, and sometimes appears on a slide without a link. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Here's the code I have in one of the slides with a link that doesn't show the hand cursor:
[Code]...
Here's the slideshow on my client's website:[URL] You'll see that the 1st slide should have a hand cursor since it has a link to it. The second slide (beading 101 ad) has a hand cursor but shouldn't since there's no code on it - no url on this one.
I have created a small flash movie where the eyes of the character follow the cursor. Its based on this one here Only problem is, it only works while the mouse is actually over the movie. Is there any way to increase the sensitive area to the whole screen without increasing the actual size of the movie?
I just started playing around with as3 and I have a function for mouse clicks that draws a shape on each click. However the mouse click event does not appear to work unless I click a movieClip object I placed in the middle of the screen. Is there a way to make the mouse click event recognize when I click anywhere on the screen?
I have just made new cursor for my flash movie, and put this code into an actions layer:[code]Function doMenu is in another place, it works, I checked with normal cursor. But MyButton is unclickable with this new cursor.
I have been trying for a long time to get my cursor to start an animation when I push the mousebutton, for example a hammer that hits down, on mouseclick. I don't get it to work.
I have a dynamic text field which loads html. In the html there are links at various points. In the file I am using a custom cursor whenever the mouse is over the swf. The issue is that despite my setting Mouse.hide(), in Windows (FF and IE) the standard hand cursor shows over the top of my custom cursor when I hover over one of the links.
I know that the htmlText field only supports CSS1, so using any reference to the mouse in the CSS is futile. Additionally, due to the nature of the html going into the text field, I can never rightly guess where a link would physically be to set up some sort of work around. In all of my research, the only references to the problem refer to the Mac FF and Safari having bugs that prevent the hand cursor from being shown (to me this is counter intuitive, it seems that when Mouse.hide() is enacted that none of the system cursors should show, no?).
In my project I have 14 buttons which are added by adding the background image their in. So I have a var bg which i addChild(bg) thus also adding 14 buttons.
their listeners are set to Mouse.event CLICK, and they work fine unless i add a custom cursor then their dont work any more.
how to take the cursor that is in the Follow Mouse tutorial and animate it on click? I have found many eamples of a custon cursor but was having trouble animating the cursor when the user clicks on a button or movieclip.
I am trying to have two guestures on a SpriteVisualElement which I thought should be pretty simple implemented: Mouse_Move for sweep Gestures and mouse click to enable.. So I have 2 Eventlisteners on my stage:
[Code]...
The main problem is that every type of sweeping on the screen also fires the taphandler().. how to identify the correct event? I tried to to my taphandler only if(!event.buttondown) but no success.
Ok so in it's simplest form, i just want to be able to click anywhere in the movie and have a movie clip show up (or duplicate from the library then show) at the exact point where you click, an example for use might be a bullet hole or a stamp tool.
I am looking for a way to simulate a mouse hover/mouse click. What's happening is a bar is autoscrolling and checking to see if there is an active button 'below' it. Sort of like a bar rolling along a music staff and checking for notes.
Is there a way to change mouse cursor from code? For example i have a text field and when people put mouse cursor on it i want it to show the hand not the standart text cursor. There seems to be many tutorials on how to make custom cursors. However I wanted to know are there any default curors to choose from (for example do i have to create my own zoom in curosor?) and most importantly what clases or functions do that.
I am attempting to use custom cursors with AS3. I created a movie object that i position using:
function mouseMoved(event:MouseEvent) { mousePointer.x = this.mouseX; mousePointer.y = this.mouseY; } and calling Mouse.hide()
This works fine in that the custom cursor follows the mouse, but I am having troubles using events with the cursor. I have several click events on several buttons. The events do not trigger when using the custom cursor. In my ignorance I would imagine the problem is that the custom cursor movieclip is on top of the button, and so click events are only generated for it, and not the button.
I'm making a Myst clone and want the cursor to do different things when it mouses over various objects and regions, for instance:
- Turns into an open hand when over a grabbable item.
- Turns into a right-facing arrow when on the right side of the screen signifying "turn right here".
- Turns into an icon of an inventory object when the object is selected.
How is this done? I found some code that sort of did it, but it was sloppy, the cursor flickered like crazy, and overall it sucked. I want to harness in Flash the same mechanism that makes my cursor turn into the bracket thing when it's over a text field, or a finger when over a link.ALSO I want to be able to make the arrow stay a regular arrow when it's over manipulatable items I want to remain secret.
