I am having a problem trying to record internal sounds made from the flash file.I can record sound from the microphone no problem,What i want is to be able to record the sounds from the flash file without isung the microphone etc.

Basically I want to recreate a sound installation that I made a couple of months ago which used Logic Express and a Tape Delay effect to take ambient sound captured by a mic, delay its output by 3 seconds, and then play it into the headphones. All without recording anything and in realtime.I've basically got this far, which lets me hear the mic input through my headphones loud and clear. Now all I want to do is apply a 3 second delay to the input before it outputs. Do I have to send the audio to a buffer where it can be constantly stored and rewritten?

A groups of friends are working on a little game that would listen to the microphone as part of the interaction. We've tinkered with processing and flex. What we'd like to know is if anyone has succeeded in:
recording from the microphone using a web app
performing an FFT on this microphone data
In the case of flex, according to the docs "Because sound data from a microphone...do not pass through the global SoundMixer object, the SoundMixer.computeSpectrum() method will not return data from those sources."[1]
i have build a small test app in Flash Pro 5.5 overlayed with the AIR 3 sdk.is has just 2 buttons to record and playback audio from the microphone. when i test this on my iPhone 3g - i record myself saying "1-2-3-4-5". but when i playback a half a second or so is missing from the beginning : "3-4-5-".
when i test this on the desktop all is fine is this a result of the iPhone 3g's cpu power or is it a bug or is it my code?

View 1 RepliesI am trying to create a Flash application(more like a game) where a user can add sounds to a timeline and then play the resulting "song". That is not really hard to do, and the resulting track can be saved and played within my app, but the problem is that I would like to export the created track as a .wav(or .mp3). I know that recording from a microphone with MicRecorder is possible and then the record can be exported with WaveEncoder, but I didn't find a way to create a custom sound stream from multiple sounds and than export it. Is this possible?

I turned to this platform because I thought that would be the best way to prepare interactive computer based exams in English. View 1 RepliesLet me first establish what I want to do:My user is able to record voicenotes on my website, add tags to said notes for indexing as well as a title. When the note is saved I save the path of the note along with the other info in my DB.Now, I have 2 choices to do the recording, both involve a .swf embedded in my site:
1) I could use Red5 server to stream the audio to my server and save the file and return the path to said file to my app to do the DB saving, seems rather complicated since I would have to convert the audio and move it to the appropriate folder that belongs to the user in a server side Red5 app, which I'm not very aware of how to build.
2) I could simply record the audio and grab its byte array, do a Base64 encoding on it and send it to PHP along with the rest of the data that is necessary (be it by a simple POST or an AJAX call), decode it on the server and make the file with the appropriate extension, audio conversion would also occur here using ffmpeg, this option seems simpler but I do not know how viable it is.
I have a working mic recording script in AS3 which I have been able to successfully use to save .wav files to a server through AMF. These files playback fine in any audio player with no weird effects.
For reference, here is what I am doing to capture the mic's ByteArray: (within a class called AudioRecorder)

The audio file plays at double speed! I checked recording bitrates and such and am pretty sure those are all correct, and I tried changing the buffer size and whatever other numbers I could think of. Could it be a mono vs stereo thing?
While recording the flv is saved inside applications/stream/samples/audio.flv. But it is not working properly.[code]

It can be appended if paused. After recording done i want to upload the file to the server. so that i can play it back when required." I tried this with java applet but the UI is too bad so i am thinking in respect to flash. What i found till now is for this i have to go for Flash Media Server which is not possible in my project. I want a simple player. You guys rocks that i can easily understand after some wondering in this forum but did not get my solution so thought of posting it.

This returns the number of samples per second. I was wondering what the best way to achieve this with the microphone in flash is. I am not sure if I need to add a SamplesDatatEvent and use extract() or ?? I need to know the number of samples per second from the audio coming into the mic.

View 1 RepliesWe use a Flash component to allow a user on our web site to record from a Webcam on to our own Flash Media Server. The problem we are having is that the video in a 30 second FLV freezes at the 7th second but the audio continues. The video unfreezes after a couple of seconds but never catches up with the audio. At the very end there's a "Fast-forwarding" of video for the last few seconds so that at literally the last moment, everything's in sync. This happens for almost all of our recordings. Has anyone experienced this type of behavior?

microphone. In that case the flash client uses the default microphone with 'Microphone.getMicrophone();' and possibly selects the micrphone of the PC.
A delay between audio and video is caused in cases with a separated webcam and microphone. There isn't a lot of delay on an internal network (e.g. LAN) however, there is a very large delay between audio and video on an external network (e.g. WAN).
This isn't another one of those "How can I record audio in the browser?" questions... I know that the HTML5 Stream API is around the corner and Flash can already access the user's microphone and camera. I'm simply wondering, as a Javascript developer with little knowledge of Flash, if anyone has developed a JS library that hooks into Flash's device capabilities for recording but sends the results back to javascript (presumably using ExternalInterface).
In other words... libraries like SoundManager2 utilize a Flash fallback for audio playback, but they don't seem to allow for recording. Has anyone written a JS library that uses an invisible Flash movie to allow audio recording?

View 1 RepliesI am developing (well, trying to anyway) a service where a member can record themselves on our website using their webcam. We need to be able to record that entire webcam session they had on our website for judges to determine whether they've cheated or not (it's a competition-based service). But, I can find no documentation, articles or even a sign that this is possible (other than knowing I've seen it in use many times). And I'm not sure what kind of hosting would be most appropriate for this type of service, and what steps would be required for me to get started on this.
