Handle Cue Points In An Audio File (from Microphone)?
Mar 30, 2011
I'd like to record audio from a microphone and I'd like the user to be able to add cue points during the recording so when he loads the file afterwards, he can jump easily to a specific position.
I don't really know what file format I should use and how to store the metadata (cue points)
I thought about
encoding a wav/mp3 and stores metadata in a .cue file (easy to do but 2 files to store)storing XMP data in a mp3 file (seems a bit harder but standard metadata embedded in 1 file)flv/f4v with audio only and standard cue points but I'm not sure I can create them directly from the client
I am a newbie to this Flash Segment. Though for my recent project i am diving into it. I want to make "A Flash app which will Capture user voice from microphone. It can be appended if paused. After recording done i want to upload the file to the server. so that i can play it back when required." I tried this with java applet but the UI is too bad so i am thinking in respect to flash. What i found till now is for this i have to go for Flash Media Server which is not possible in my project. I want a simple player. You guys rocks that i can easily understand after some wondering in this forum but did not get my solution so thought of posting it.
I'm making a audio recorder with Adobe Flex (Microphone, NetStream), I want to get the current audio wave from Microphone to display in the visualization area, how can i get the data?
I am having a problem trying to record internal sounds made from the flash file.I can record sound from the microphone no problem,What i want is to be able to record the sounds from the flash file without isung the microphone etc.
I am trying to stream audio from flash app directly to server. We strongly prefer not using Flash Media Server.
I have very little AS3 knowledge. I managed to connect to Mic, speak and hear my voice back. However, I am not sure how to stream this to PHP or rails server side.
Is it possible for Flash to detect the tempo of audio coming through the microphone (ex. - someone singing into the microphone or playing music on their computer)?I am trying to figure out whether this is possible.
In Java there is a method of the AudioFormat called getSampleRate This returns the number of samples per second. I was wondering what the best way to achieve this with the microphone in flash is. I am not sure if I need to add a SamplesDatatEvent and use extract() or ?? I need to know the number of samples per second from the audio coming into the mic.
We need send h264 from flash to Wowza and after to vlc by RTSP protocol. But if we send sound in Speex codec, we not listens sound. what it is possible to make?
Basically I want to recreate a sound installation that I made a couple of months ago which used Logic Express and a Tape Delay effect to take ambient sound captured by a mic, delay its output by 3 seconds, and then play it into the headphones. All without recording anything and in realtime.I've basically got this far, which lets me hear the mic input through my headphones loud and clear. Now all I want to do is apply a 3 second delay to the input before it outputs. Do I have to send the audio to a buffer where it can be constantly stored and rewritten?
Code: //Create a new Microphone var mic:Microphone = Microphone.getMicrophone();
I'm developing an application and i want to make one single connection for video(netstream) and chat(sharedObject).I have one connection for each but i have limited connection available in the server so i need to make a single connection to handle the video net stream and chat sharedObject.I use this urls to connect:
private var serverWebcamURL:String = "rtmp://myserverIP/live"; private var serverChatURL:String = "rtmp://myserverIP/multicast/chat";
i'm a novice to ActionScript but from failed Google function searches, i think i've choosen an advanced i hope possible task: how to read then apply bezier, anchor point and handle positions to different anchor points. What i need to do is precisely align a rectangular closed bezier path with a randomly shaped closed bezier path, both with the same number of anchor points.
I'm setting up an application where I need to record users' voice every so often during the course of the users' interaction with the application. Recording is fine, and the quality is fine, but now my issue is understandng how Flash handles the microphone when it gets attached to a stream for publishing.Basically, the problem is that when I "publish" my stream, the voice gets cut off (clipped) at the beginning. So, I initially thought this may have to do with buffer settings on the FMS server side, but it wasn't. Then I investigated client side stuff. For some reason, my internal mic .activityLevel property is -1 even though I have called Microphone.getMicrophone(). According to Flash's documentation, this shouldn't be the case:
activityLevel propertyactivityLevel:Number [read-only]Language Version : ActionScript 3.0Player Version : Flash Player 9The amount of sound the microphone is detecting. Values range from 0 (no sound is detected) to 100 (very loud sound is detected). The value of this property can help you determine a good value to pass to the Microphone.setSilenceLevel() method.If the microphone is available but is not yet being used because Microphone.getMicrophone() has not been called, this property is set to -1.I am using a timer to investigate the microphone .activityLevel property every 50 milliseconds:
A groups of friends are working on a little game that would listen to the microphone as part of the interaction. We've tinkered with processing and flex. What we'd like to know is if anyone has succeeded in:
recording from the microphone using a web app
performing an FFT on this microphone data
In the case of flex, according to the docs "Because sound data from a microphone...do not pass through the global SoundMixer object, the SoundMixer.computeSpectrum() method will not return data from those sources."[1]
Following this tutorial: http:[url].....But I keep getting this error message:1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant: CuePointEvent.
how to sync to mpr3 audio files at specific points?
I'm looking for a (free) flash player that I can embed in my site and use to play a .m4a (.mp4 with AAC audio) file that will be obtained using a URL (i.e. it's not local to the server hosting the web page).I've tried searching on google for one, but either I'm searching wrong or no one has made such a thing. Ideally this would be very simple (small user interface with play button and maybe a progress bar) and it would be easy to have multiple instances of on an html page (can create the player with an <object> tag).
I am trying to create a Flash application(more like a game) where a user can add sounds to a timeline and then play the resulting "song". That is not really hard to do, and the resulting track can be saved and played within my app, but the problem is that I would like to export the created track as a .wav(or .mp3). I know that recording from a microphone with MicRecorder is possible and then the record can be exported with WaveEncoder, but I didn't find a way to create a custom sound stream from multiple sounds and than export it. Is this possible?
I'm creating a scrollbar gallery from a tutorial on this site. Though I've completed the tutorial, and customised the gallery to my own needs, however I'm trying to make a very small change to it - and no matter what I do, keep running into problems. I'm trying to replace the rectangular handle with my own customised handle - a (20 x 20) 'circular' png image that I've imported into Flash, made a graphic and stored in the library (though I understand it can be imported using actionscript, like the other images in the gallery).
I am currently working on the largest Flex / Flash Builder 4 application I have ever built. I am acustomed to keeping all of my MXML programming in one file. What are some best practice procedures for keeping large MXML files readable?
I am facing a problem with multiple sound file in one flash file. I have added a background music in my flash and on one of the page, I have published a video. However both sound files are clashing with each other. If I will do stopAllsounds(); on the video frame then while moving on next section the sounds still remains stop.
I have an mxml file called HomeView.mxml in a mobile app built using Flash Builder 4.6. In that HomeView.mxml I have an HSlider, which is dispatching events when the thumb is moved. What I'm trying to do is to listen for that valueCommit event in an .as file elsewhere in the project.
Whenever the thumb moves, an event is dispatched in HomeView.mxml:
private function commitHandler(e:FlexEvent):void { trace("committed!"); }
But this code never runs. I do have a handler in the HomeView.mxml file which handles the event, but for other reasons I need to handle it in view.as as well.
I have been tasked with trying to create a drawing tool that draws dotted lines as you drag the mouse across the stage. I can easily capture the points on MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE and store them in a vector and then draw the points as dots:
The problem is that I need to calculate evenly distributed points on an ever growing Vector of points so I can only draw the line between say every 5th point (say using modulus). I have been battling away with Bezier curve equations both Quadratic and Cubic but still can't quite figure out how to convert my Vector of points into an evenly distributed Vector of Points without sucking the life from the CPU.
I've got a project that has an FLV with cue points controlling when graphics appear in the swf file. The graphics are being loaded into empty movie clips via AS on the stage (everything is being loaded and unloaded into the first frame of the main stage). What the client wants is a pause button that will pause/play both the FLV and graphics being loaded in the swf.
I have AS3 project, made with FlashBuilder. I'm using MovieClips from an external .SWC-file. In a MovieClip from the .SWF-file, I want to use an audio-file. Is it possible to preload a sound-file (e.g. .MP3) in my FlashBuilder project, and access it in a MovieClip inside the .SWC?
i am new to actionscript i need to download .mp3 and vedio file form my remote server how to do this give me any example source code for this.when i download .pdf its downloading properly. but not audio.
This has been a long time question, why, when you bring illustrator artwork into flash does it add so many unnecessary control points to the object? something as simple as a circle with 4 happy control points in illustrator suddenly becomes a 20 control point circle when brought into flash. It has been this way forever and I know that there is no setting to change this?
