I am trying to work with this flash tutorial -[URL] So far it draws with a simple rounded line. I have been extending this application by making the drawing board bigger and other small things. I now want to be able to choose the line style. Currently it is rounded and I want to choose and draw with other shapes - square, forward slash (/), backward slash (). Is this possible? If so, could you explain how I could go about it?
Above is the webstie in question. When you hit the Benefit button for example it takes you to a url /benefits.html/.
When I originally created the flash project I accidentally wrote in the url with the finishing slash. Now that I have gone back and removed the slash from my project, saved and uploaded .swf to my web, the project still redirects to benefits.html/
I'd rather see the numeral zero displayed with a slash through it when I'm writing ActionScript. Right now Flash defaults to Lucida Console. Rather than test the dozens of other fonts, can someone recommend several that display zero in the slash style?
I got an xml file from other site that generate url starting with back slash ( / ) . I want to replace that trialing slash. How do I replace through as3. I tried the replace() method no luck with the / Here is what I'm tiring to do:
i'm trying to allow forward slash to be entered in my input text field
myInputField.restrict = "A-Za-z.\-\/";
the above text field should allow upper case letters, lower case letters, periods, hyphens and forward slashes. however, i can't seem to permit the forward slash.
I am having trouble with SWFAddress by Asual, I am using as2 The thing is if you use SWFAddress.setValue("/about/"); then when people type URL : [URL]
However what if when people just type [URL] --> without the slash. I want them to keep referring the about sections of the site. Is it something we have to do in the logic of the event handler: SWFAddress.onChange = function() { }

For the life of me I can't work out how to replace a "/" character in a string!? Using the standard myString.split("/").join("-"); does absolutly nothing to the string. I've heard the odd story of adding double slash ie. split("//") but that has no effect either.
I have a short video that I made using Final Cut Pro.I work on a MacPro, OSX 10.5 Leopard, and CS2.What format do I need to export my video so that I can upload it to a web site?
It's been a long time since I've done any work with actionscript, and alas I've forgotten nearly everything. I've tried to look for a tutorial that would explain basic animation with actionscript, but the one that I found on Kirupa was no longer there.
Basically I'd like to do this:On the stage I have a movieclip and I'd like the movieclip to move along the x-axis to a certain point and then back to the starting point again. The moving speed of the movieclip should also be adjustable.
I have a .fla that has a movieclip in it with an frame by frame animation of a rotating pyramid.The script that I have, when the user drags the mouse horizontally for the right, the animations play, and for the left, it plays rewind. But when it is on frame 1 and I try to go back, it stops![code]How could I make the first frame go to the final frame when I drag the mouse for the left?
I'm creating a game in flash for a university project, and learning actionscript and programming as I go. I'm very much still at a beginner level - at the moment al I have is some actionscript for drawing rectangles and moving them about the screen. This is what I'm having trouble with at the moment: I have a class called 'Creature', and I want instances of it to interact with each other. I want them to do something when they come within a certain distance of another instance. And I want them to be able to pick a random other instance to get the location of, in order to do something with that information.
What I think I need is: A function for telling the distance between two (x,y) points. A way of referencing the nearest other instance of the class. And a way of randomly selecting from all of the instances of the class.
How to convert 3d point to 2d point? I've found next formula in Internet(camera is situated in origin)
[Code]....
But these formulae give me strange result when z are less than zero(z<0) I need build line from A(100,100,100) to B (100,100;-100) As you can see these equations give really strange result when I try to convert B point in 2D dimension
I have a point which is setted at the border on a component, with changed transform point to the center of a component in order to match the component rotation.
the important part is when i try to get the point XY after rotation - they remains the same as before rotation.
how to get XY, after rotation ( changeing point.rotation property to specific degrees of rotaion )
I am using AS2 with Flash 8 Professional So, my problem is that I currently have a man in the middle of the screen, who shoots a line towards the mouse when I click. However, when I use hitTest to see if the line collides with another object, Flash recognizes the line as a large box if it is diagonal, so the hitTest isn't very accurate. The line only satys there for one frame, so I can't have the usual moving-bullet-style. I am either looking for a way to create an imaginary line with AS from the starting point to the mouse and beyond, and tell whether or not this line intersects with an object... or some other way that I haven't thought of to fix my problem. Keep in mind that the line rotates from a center point towards anywhere around it for 360 degrees.
my preloader bar isn't growing smoothly. it appears to jump from point to point -- and i want to make it smooth. you can see the example here at: [URL] would anyone mind taking a quick look at the file i've attached,
Hi I am trying to create an image scroller that just scrolls images from point a to point b on load horizontally in an infinite loop. I just used a code snippet to move it horizontally but don't how to get it to stop and at point b and loop again from a.
I have a score that goes up by 10 every time you press this button, its var "score". I have a simple countdown timer. caller, its var "timer". When the game ends it goes to the next frame which says game end. I can get the score to show but I want the time left to be added to this. I have tired: onEnterFrame (){ score = Number(score) + timer; } Nothing seems to work. Do I even actually use onEnterFrame ?
Ok so my website is a basic portfolio site. the interface is as follows: on the right is a box shape...to the left are my buttons and on the top is my logo and such. now for my coding questions.
1. I want a gallery to appear in the box showing my work
2. My buttons are named "Photoshop", "Illustrator", and "Indesign", i would like to have it so when you click on each button a new window gallery will appear in the box to show my work for each pogram
3. How do i insert my images? Do i just place them in my library in Flash? Do i use dreamweaver?
thats pretty much it.Unfortunately my teacher is refusing to teach coding.
I'm rendering a xps file using flash (no MX or Spark), and I'm running into a sort of 'contradiction' that I'm unable to solve. [Note, that I'm trying to work only in core flash (e.g. Sprite, Shape, etc.), I've already solved (sort of) this issue using Spark.]
The pages of the xps file specify an explicit size. However, the content described (especially paths) in the xps file can sometimes extend outside of this area.
The problem is, I want the parent Sprite to have the size specified by the xps file, for example so scroll bars match the page size (not the sprite size), but in some cases the Sprite is much larger than this.
I've tried recursively going down and scaling everything UP, and then at the end scaling the parent container DOWN. Unfortunately, this causes translation problems with paths, and I assume it can also cause problems with bitmaps, etc.
Without using MX or Spark, is there anything I can do to control the size of the parent Sprite, other than scaling all the children independently?
