So... : if I put codice0.text = ..., codice1.text = .... it's working, but when I am trying to do a this["codice"+contor].text = .... it's not working.... Is this because we are inside another this[] ... the one for the button and when I am referring to this["codice"+contor] the flash see that I want to do something at the button and not at the textfield...

How can I create a for loop so I can use different values of the same node? So I want to count the "<Text>" nodes of the XML and use their different values on different dynamic textfields. Note that I have mutliple Movieclips on the stage with the same amount of textfields and I would like to include them in the loop, so I named them mc1 mc2 etc.

I can't get code in my button to change the values displayed in my dynamic text boxes. I have a column of twelve dynamic text boxes which display numbers stored in an array. The array contains more than twelve numbers. I want to use buttons to refresh the information in the boxes (effectively creating a scrolling effect) so that the remaining contents of the array can be revealed as required. In the code below Stats1 etc. refer to the dynamic text. The array is called Stats4display. This shows the information fine.[code]I had hoped that by incrementing the value of x I could update all the dynamic text boxes with the next value along in the array.

When a user clicks a CheckBox, it places the value of the selected CheckBox into the first TextField. The second CheckBox selected places that value in the second TextField, and so on.

It works for empty and library-linked mc's but not textfields...
I have a weird bug with some textfields when i change the flash quality. It seems that the size of the textfield and the font size are changed each time i change the quality. I've attached the pics

View 2 RepliesI'm in the midst of the very honorable job of adding localization support for all kinds of languages. This would not be a problem if the main font we use would support asian and russian symbols.
After some nosing around I found a substitution font that has support for asian and russian symbols. However this substitution font isn't spaced in the same way as our original font. If I just replace the old font for the new font then all the text will be misaligned, too big and also lowered quite a bit.
What I'd like to do is when a textfield is loaded I check for what language is chosen and scale/resize/reposition the textfields accordingly.
I have a movieclip in my library named mcLeaderboarditem. I've generated a class for it to manage the textfields.
The easiest way is to make a child of the class and manage the contents properties with the dot-syntax like this (documentclass):

Ive been using Flash since version 4, mainly just to draw and create Frame by Frame Animations. Only recently have found a need for dynamic applications.Ive been following the tutorial for the simple photo gallery/portfolio here.URL...Ive noticed that the way the buttons/thumbnails created in this example doesnt give me control over the way the buttons themselves behave on the individual level. Such as things like different colors/sounds/ on events, or whatever. Can anyone help me to understand how to make a button class or something that may already have these properties set, and then dynamically assign it to the thumbnails?

However, the textfields can have varying amounts of text, so just doing txt.y = t*40 would not cut it. I've tried getting txt.length to calculate how many lines it would be, but if i change the font size it changes everything.

let's say you had a dynamic text field with a number (for example '30'). Everytime you click on a certain button / movie clip, that triggers an animation (so far no problem) AND adds '20' to the number in that textfield.
==> first click, the number displays 50 (30+20), second click 70 (50+20) ...
When you enter a certain keyframe and that number is higher than let's say 290, the movie jumps to frame x. If that number equals 290 or is lower than 290, the movie jumps to frame y.

This is about a self assessment quiz.There will be four options and each one has a scale from1-5 i.e., "option a" has 1mark, "option b" has 2marks,"option c" has 3 marks, "option d" has 4marks and "option e" has 5 marks and we count the answered and we display the score for example if there are 20 question in it if they answered "option e" 5 times the score will be 25 and option d 5 times the score will be 20, and if "option c" for 5 times the score will be 15,and "option b" for 3 times the score will be 6 and "option a" two times the score will be 2, and we add up all the score and display in a dynamic text field called "score" and the total score is 68.
And I have another dynamic text field called "tsc" where I have to display the tags like excellent , good, better ......etc. Till now every thing is fine but I am unable to compare them it is displaying excellent even if i get 10 marks. If the score is greater than 55 "tsc" should display Excellent, if the score is greater than 41 or less than 55 "tsc" should display Best, if the score is greater than 26 or less than 40 "tsc" should display Better,if the score is none of the above "tsc" should display Poor.
