View 3 RepliesWhile publishing my movies in CS4, I noticed that the javascript required to embed the movie in a web page was published as inline javascript in the published page. This means that code would be downloaded for each page my movie is on. Is it possible to configure Flash CS4 to publish that javascript to a separate .js file, instead of having to manually copy-paste that each time??
If no, I believe that js is independent of the Flash movie (please correct me, if I am wrong). So, can I copy-paste that javascript to an external file just once, and use the js file for all my movies being published??
I'm using Flash to play a RTMP stream to a Wowza server.
I publish my microphone with

Unfortunately, my receiving end only supports AAC audio. Is there a way to publish AAC audio with Flash?
Note : I tried the mp4:mic_user1, but it does not work. The stream negociation seems ok, but the received audio is garbage
i was wondering if you could completely make the toolbar in the swf window with file, edit etc disappear in as3. If it isn't possible can you please tell me how to disable key shortcuts in the swf window but with as3

View 1 RepliesIn coloring an object using the toolbar fill palette, I'd like to simply be able to double click on the color swatch in the toolbar, rather than click on the swatch and mouse down to the color and click again with the eyedropper. What's happening is that the color swatch in the toolbar contains a variety of colors around the one that it nominally represents. e.g. If the swatch is ff0000, double clicking on the swatch is likely to color the selected object anywhere from f30000 to fe0000 depending on precisely where in the swatch you double click.
View 1 RepliesI am having a problem with CS3 Flash and the toolbar on the left. Certain tools have options and those options are not showing up. Yes, I went to Customize Tools panel and checked and those options are listed to the right of each tool that should have them (Example: Rectangle tool: oval tool, polystar tool , etc) and even hit reset to default and still those options do not show up on the actual toolbar. I made a graphic thinking that would make them show up and no it didn't.
It seems to be a problem for each tool that has a options and they are
1. Free Transform Tool,
2. Pen tool and
3. Rectangle tool.

View 2 RepliesI have a picture that is 500x500. My stage is 500x500. I have a tool bar that is on the bottom of the screen. It is in front of the picture. My onRollOver command is set so that on roll over the picture changes. Even if I am hovering over the toolbar the image still changes. I can not for the life of me figure out how to not have the onRollOver happen when the cursor is over the toolbar. Picture = pic_mc and toolbar = tb_mc I can not figure this out and I know how simple this is, but I am just at a lose. SIDENOTE: The tool bar is not a rectangle it is an irregular shape so I can't just say X,y area I figured I could use the toolbar shape to be the "block" from the image activating the onRollOver.

For example, the popup window should not have a browser toolbar or URL box.I've tried using navigateToURL, which works fine, but I can't find a way to specify the popup window properties've tried using ExternalInterface.call, but the popup gets blocked when calling window.open directly, or even creating a custom JS function that calls window.open.

For some reason, I will click on the little arrow on a tool like "free transform" to get to the "Gradient Tool" but it refuses to expand so that i can select the "gradient tool". I am having the same problem with other expandable items as well like the "rectangle tool" which by clicking the little arro in the lower right should expand a menu to select other tools like the "Oval Tool" etc. Does anyone know what this could be?

View 2 RepliesI'm pulling some events out of a MySQL db, parsing to an XML file, and having flash pull that in. All works fine, but I'm encountering an XML tag, and I'm not 100% sure why. I searched but the keywords are so vague I didn't find anything of value.

I have placed a video object on top of a graphic that is a link to another site. Before the user clicks the button to activate the video, they can see my background graphic and use the link. After they play the video, the background graphic is no longer visible. Is there any way to get rid of the remnants of the video after it is played so picture and link are visible again?Here is my great code:

i was trying to do a child removal method that would work on command instead of me trying to find a child to remove each time in the code... it would find and remove it wisely... however, i've tried this method and it doesn't work... and i was wondering if there was another way for actionscript to check for Children and if there are any it'll remove it...
I have 2 .as files so far, one for the main game and one for the boulders that come hurdling down the screen. I can get the boulders added to the game fine and the animation is fine too but I don't know how to remove the boulder once it goes offscreen (it just keeps floating downwards) so obviously this is not good since after a few levels, there will be 100's of boulders there wasting CPU cycles and memory space I've tried removeChild and parent.removeChild but neither work

The structure I have is one where I have a main.swf which loads an external swf named say external1.swf. Then external1.swf loads external2.swf. My question is when I remove external1.swf, is external2.swf also removed by proxy from the display list or do I have to explicity remove external2.swf using removeChild on the relevant loader?
View 0 RepliesI have an MC of a sea texture which was created using clouds in Photoshop, and uses AS to fade in & out a child MC to look like waves moving back & forth. (The PS image fades to transparent where its close to each side to aid blending).
The user is able to pan the containing MC infinitely so I need some way of automatically overlapping a new instance when the pan gets close to the edges of the MC, but because its a large MC needs to also remove the MCs greater than distance x from the edges.
How can i get it so that i do not have any mouse cursor over my flash movies? The movies are for a presentation and i dont want the cursor to be visable anywhere on the swfs.

View 1 RepliesI've got a rollover menu bar of buttons that opens up a list of sub-items below each button when you roll over it. Pretty standard, right? Then once that movie plays (sub-items appearing), a thin box appears both around those items and the menu bar's actual button, meaning that once the mouse pointer moves off of either the button of the sub-items, the movie disappears (that's what my invisible button is set to do). And herein lies my problem.
While the button works almost always, if I drag the mouse pointer very quickly over the active area, the button fails to activate. So I can literally keep my pointer at one side of the screen and race it over to the other side, activating all the sub-menus and making them stick in their 'open' position. Someone on these forums suggested increasing my framerate and I've set this to maximum. It makes the problem less frequent, but doesn't fix it. This problem happens both in the preview window and my browser (Firefox, Vista).So I guess at this point I either need a way to 1) Fix the problem and make them close, either by tweaking what I already have or making a rollover menu by a different means or2) Add something to each item like a 'timeout', where if there's no pointer present for, say, 1 sec, the it closes automatically. But I don't know if such a thing exists, especially in an older version like MX.
So the problem is basicly this: It all works just fine, but when the bullet hits the target it gets destroyed (this is ok) but also any bullet that was shoot before it (meaning also: with a lower y) gets destroyed aswell wich is anoying.
