ActionScript 2.0 :: Unloading The Video Player And Stopping It Playing In The Background
Jan 23, 2011
I'm using for my video player, it loads and plays fine and it stop playing music on the main template when loaded. I have actually two requests: First: How do I pause the video when the player is loaded ?
Second: When the player is unloaded from the main template using root.main_mc.close_btn the video still playing in the background and the close button (close_btn) pause and play the music player each time it is pressed and from the same position it was left last time.
The situation is I have a swf loading another swf. The loaded contains a custom video player. When I unload the loaded swf the audio continues to play though the player is now gone.
I have a video player program, there is a list page and a player page, once you click on an item in the list it takes you to the player page and it loads the correct video from a streaming server for you, easy peasy When each item is picked it finds the corresponding item in an XML file and loads my video player source with the XML data url
function beginLoad():void { this.addChild(videoPlayer) videoPlayer.source = myXML.video[videoIndex].@url; }
(it has nothing to do with this function not happening on mouse event, this is only the part that happens when it loads)My issue is that if you are fast enough and click to return to the list page before the video has started playing, the video will play in the background, even though the code actually removes the video player child from the stage the code on the button to return to the list page is
function navToList(e:Event):void { videoPlayer.stop(); videoPlayer.parent.removeChild(videoPlayer); }
there is more code in the button but none of it relates to the videoPlayer item why on earth it continues to play is beyond me, surely if there is no videoPlayer componen on the stage (and this is the only one) then the video has no ability to play whatsoever is there a specific command to tell the videoPlayer item to stop everything and just return to a blank state, do I set its 'source' to nothing?
I'm making a basic flash website, and have already created the site structure, but I'm having trouble adding FLV and SWF, as they aren't responding as I would like.
1) I have built a basic flash photo gallery, and it works great. I have exported the SWF, but when I add that to my main sites keyframe, it plays non stop, and the buttons on that embedded SWF don't work.
2) After adding a FLV video to a keyframe, it works as I would like. Except that when I click to another keyframe after starting the video, it keeps playing. How would I be able to pause/stop the video if a navigation button to other keyframes are clicked.
The picture explains my dilemma. I really want my BGvideo layer (which is an animated looping footage for the background) to be independent from the actions that I have put in to stop my button animations.
I have three embedded video clips that are inside of movieClips. They I have buttons that take you to a framelabel where those movieClips are located. Each movieClip containing each movie are on separate frames. (See attached image)
When I click on any of the buttons that take me to any videoClips other than the first one, make the audio from the previous embedded Video on the timeline in front of the one I went to , start to play.
I have SoundMixer.stopAll();
on everybutton before I tell it to go anywhere. what to do to only get audio from the video clip in that section of the timeline to play.
i made a player based on the 'Video Basics' series and would like to disable the auto play. I've only found posts dealing with stopping auto play in the XML version and I can't figure it out.
I assume that I must modify the early part of the script?
Code: Select allvar nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection(); nc.connect(null); var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc); ns.setBufferTime(10);
I built a timeline based player with 2 menus and many videos that you can play.The buttons move the timeline to a frame label and the video plays. The back button has a stop function built in it so the video stops playing when its hit.It plays wonderfully locally but once on a server after a few clicks it boggs down and sometimes the audio from the last video remains playing even when prompted to stop. I was pointed to use the add and remove child functions to prevent this but being very new to Flash and 100% self taught i have zero idea on how to do this. The link to the player is[url]....Even if its a link to a tutorial or something.
i have a fullscreen video playing at the background.
Code: //makes loader visible on initial load bufferClip._visible=true; //create NetConnection for playing video
[Code]....
and upon clicking a button, i want to goto a frame and will need to remove the video from that background mc (or rather make the video stop or disable the background sound.)
does anybody know how to stop background sound when clicking play button for a video and when the video is finish how to turn background sound again on?
A few months ago I viewed an SWF file (original.swf). Ever since, if I double click to launch a different SWF, it always and only plays original.swf. I've tried restarting, reinstalling... but with no luck. Why did it "stick" on this video
I have added two consecutive streaming audio tracks (mp3) to a child SWF. The child SWF loads onto a parent SWF using a loader. After loading the child SWF the movieclip and audio plays without a problem. In the last frame of the child SWF a dispatchEvent is used to signal the end at which time the loader is unloaded and the playhead reset in the parent SWF.
I have a problem with stopping the audio. After the loader is unloaded and the playhead reset in the parent SWF the first audio track plays again (but not the one after it). I have been trying to use the SoundMixer.stopAll(); command to stop the audio. I have not been sucessful in preventing the audio from playing. The command only works AFTER the audio begins playing and I manually move the playhead to a frame containing the SoundMixer.stopAll(); command.
I have been reading some older threads with similar problems and haven't found a solution that works for me. I have placed the SoundMixer.stopAll(); command in every possible loaction in the main timelines of the parent and child SWF without success. Why is the sound file playing after I unload the child SWF? Is there a way to prevent it from playing again?
I have a video that is meant to start playing when a user clicks on an image and said image opens a FancyZoom overlay. It works fine in every browser except IEs. If I place the video in a div that is not hidden (display:none actually), the video starts as expected. So it seems there is a problem with either Flash, JW Player, SWFObject or any combination of these when trying to load a video in a hidden div.[URL]..
Is there any possible way to play a .jpeg sequence using .flv player on-the-fly ? I mean, by not needing to convert the entire sequence into one single .flv ? Since I'm not familiar with flash neither action script, I was surfing the web in hope to find any template or tips about similar things to that but I couldn't...
Here's the main list of features: 1- Browse button to load a sequence eg. < filename >####.jpeg 2- Play button with a slider time 3- Previous and next frame-by-frame buttons 4- FPS slider from 0 to 30
My main reference is this stand app called Cyber-D's Image Sequence Viewer.
I am using YouTube JS API to play videos on my site. Video is played on the dialog box. When user closes the dialog box, player is stopped - player.stopVideo(); But when user clicks again on video icon again, dialog box appears
In Chrome, the video starts playing at the previous position - OK Firefox, the video starts playing from the start irrespective of where user left it last time. - NOT OK
As per my requirements, I want the Chrome to behave as how firefox is behaving.
I have a sound clip that I'm loading externally into my flash file. The code I'm using looks like this and is placed in the as layer on the first frame,
var mySound:Sound = new Sound(); var myChannel:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel(); var myTransform = new SoundTransform(); var lastPosition:Number = 0; mySound.load(new URLRequest("introaudio.mp3")); myChannel = mySound.play(); [Code]....
so I have 3 swf's that im loading with buttons into the main swf. The thing is that these 3 external swf's have embeded flv's. when switching between the swf's with the buttons, im using vid1loader.unload();the only thing is that while the video switched to the other video like it should, the audio keeps running on any number of videos(swf's) that are loaded. My question is how do you stop the audio when using simple Loader and URLRequest to load the swf's?
How would you stop an FLV using a conditional statement where the condition is if the FLV is playing?
I'm using AS 3.0. My best shot was this:
if (demo.flv == play){ demo.flv.stop(); }
I'm sure the "== play" part is wrong, but I cannot find the correct code that checks to see if the video is currently playing.
My flv component does have an instance name of "demo". The command "demo.flv.stop(); works fine as a non-conditional, but the flv is not always playing with my navigation set-up when you land on the frame with the code, so I need a conditional.
i have a graphic that basically is set to pivot onto the screen using a motion tween. my problem is once the animation plays the graphic disappears whereas i would like it to remain on screen and displaying its last frame
I am making a kiosk based on another designers layout where I work... I am not going to get in the details, but the work seems sort of an unorthadox way of using flash - anyways...
It is basically an interactive slide show... play, pause, previous slide, next slide...
Each SWF that is loaded in is around 15000 frames in lenght (right under that magical 16000 number) - the audio voice overs are on the time line one after another... so when the slide changes the voice over matches the slide current slide... there are 31 slide JPGs and 31 mp3 files that are divided between 8 SWFs.
The issue I am having is that when you are one the first "SWF" (slides 1-5)... and you move from slide 1 to 2 before the audio is done playing... it will keep playing the audio from slide one and then start the audio from slide to ... so on and so forth until you get to slide 6 - which is a new SWF that is loaded...
I know that I need to use a stop sound script somehow... on the first frame of each of the following slides so that it stops the currently playing sound... if it hasn't already finished...
if you let the presentation go it works fine... but when you move forward and back... the sound gets garbled....
I'm stuck while trying to playing some sound and stopping the others. What I do is : I'm using a linkage to get access to my sound. For example I have 5 linkage sound. I need to play just one specific sound and stop the others. I create a new Sound() and a new SoundChannel() for each one , and put it all in Array. But when I'm trying to stop the others by stopping it's channel, it won't work: The snippet is somewhat like this :
I had been through your post which telss about playing sound using AS3. It was really helpfull. I just wanted to know how we can stop the sound using a Button click event.
I've got a few questions about background music. Such as...
- How do you get music to loop in the background of a stopped frame (or multiple stopped frames)?
- How do you get the looping background music playing in a stopped frame to stop when a certain button is clicked?
- and How do you get music to stop playing in regular, non-stopped frames when a certain button is clicked (although it's probably the same as the above question...)?
Im making a preloader for a game, which is meant to do this: [URL] But for some reason as soon as i add a progress bar to it, The animation freezes when it appears.
It should look like this:[URL]
It does this: [URL]
Ive tried multiple methods to attempt to fix it, but have failed.
If you require the .fla, i can only compile it with cs5, so older versions wont be supported.
I have a simple html splash page which when clicked goes to another html page with my flash object in it. When I click the first page the flash runs the whole animation and loops it continuosly. Id like it to just stop at fram 0 when it loads!
I am a High school teacher working on a students work in CS4 flash Actionscript 3 and we are trying to stop the flv from playing when you click on the navigate to scene button. I can get the flv to stop but it is displaying in the background of the next scene.here is the code that i am using
import fl.video.*; var myVideo:FLVPlayback = new FLVPlayback(); myVideo.source = "1LEO_1 00-31-54.flv";
I have a problem with some AS3 code and i don't understand why.. my code looks like this:stop();
[Code]....
But there shouldn't be a problem with this, cause the movieclips are the same as the others and has an instance name of gt5 and gt6 just like the other movie clips, and the code is obviously the same?
