I am trying to get started with developing android apps in flash. Most tutorials begin with my selecting the Air for Android template in Flash CS5 Pro. This option is not available to me When I try to install the extension I get this: [URL]
I am running the latest update for CS5.
I have an enterprise Flex web application, served up over https, that runs fine on Flash player 10.0 and beyond on a desktop computer/browser.
However, when I run it from my HTC Incredible with Android 2.2 the app loads fine, but there is no on-screen keyboard and so I cannot log in. I can see the blinking cursor inside the username and password text fields. I can switch between them. I can even hit the login button and see an authentication error!
I've succesfully passed the Flash CS5 ACE recertification exam on 4th of May, but I've not received any certificate yet. PS: I'm not sure this is the right section for this topic, in case it's not i'm sorry.
View 1 RepliesEvery time I install it it seems fine and works for a couple of days. Suddenly one day it won't open and all it says in the message is "flashresource file missing. please reinstall flash " So I say uh oh and reinstall. Works great so I think ok problem solved. Then a couple of days later it does it again. I have gone through this 5 times, each time reinstalling works for a few days or week then blammo suddenly "flashresourcefile is missing. please reinstall flash" I am completely stumped. After effects, premiere pro, soundbooth, all work great. Flash professiional is the only one doing this.

I was given a flash project to edit. I have to edit one image in Photoshop, but when I right click on it and choose Edit with -Photoshop, an error message comes up saying "The file G:Web-02Sitefilm120902.gif does not exist, unable to launch external editor". I don't understand how Flash can list the image and display the image when I click on it, yet it doesn't exist. I tried to copy the image and paste it in photoshop but it only pastes a very low resolution version of it. What do I do?

View 1 Repliesi am new to Flash and am currently working with an XML based flash template. When i open the .fla file, none of the text or images show up. I understand this is b/c i have to edit the xml file in dreamweaver. However that is a very complicated way of doing it b/c then i have to keep going back and forth between several programs and saving, and updating, and never getting of "live view" of the chages i am making. My question is: Is there really no way for me to edit the whole xml flash template in Flash CS5? Meaning is there some sort of way to import or manipulate the files so that i can edit the text and images directly in flash pro cs5 and not having to keep going into dreamweaver?
View 3 RepliesI purchased a premade Flash template last night that is almost perfect for what I need right out of the box.The template is divided into 2 sections, the top being the flash portion and the bottom HTML editable The problem I am running into is editing the the buttons. When I dbl click the menu icons it just keeps jumping back and forth between layers, never allowing me the chance to alter the text.I can upload the SWF file if that would help.

This works fine but for some reason if I change the text in one section, for instance the "our team" pop up box text the pop up box on the Services page "read more" and "paranormal info" box has the same text displayed.I can't seem to find where to change the text for each box individually. View 1 RepliesThis has me stumped and frustrated! I have some simple bitmaps that I've masked with graphics. When I use the playhead to watch the movie, it looks fine. When I preview or publish, the masked images are missing completely. What could I be doing wrong? A couple additional notes - the layer with the graphic (symbol) is rotated and the layer above it (mask) is also rotated at an angle. I don't see how that should matter at all...

Go into project explorer and can't see much AS so how the hwll are they getting the images and text into the flash swf. By the html??? I don't think so.
I am new to Flash and was trying to start a website for my photography business. I have an up and running version of Flash Pro CS4 with all updates. I purchased a full flash template from [URL] hoping to just open the .fla file and go to work editing. No such luck. When I click on the main.fla file, all the components seem to load in the library, however in the timeline, I only show like 9 random layers. When I run the timeline, all I get is a bunch of lines, squares, etc running on and off the stage. When I click "publish" the layers and components run fine with all the default content. The template came in a ZIP file and after extracting, I get the usual files, .fla, .html, .XML, .SWA, etc. All the components seem to be in the .fla file. What am I missing? I know there should be more layers in the timeline, but I cant find them. My troubleshooting has been to confirm that the template is good with CS4 and ActionScript 3.0. I've tried different settings to include changing the pixel size, but nothing.
View 1 RepliesWhen the files are downloaded to your computer there are several file folders included. Some are for pictures and there is HTML as well as the SWF files and the INDEX. In very short order I determined that you could simply replace there pictures with your pictures and even change the text on the buttons as well as the body of the site. It seemed very painless. We are now down to just one issue that I cannot figure out. On the main page there is a place on the page for the company name. I went into the HTML and changed that which worked fine.
My issue is that she already has a predefined font for her company. It is Trajan Pro. I cannot find anything in the HTML that has to do with the font.However there is a folder included in the download which is entitled "fonts". Within that folder is the various fonts used in the website. how I can change the font that is being used?
PS -- There is a folder full of Photoshop images which are basically the pages of the site. They have many layers. I tried to change the company name and font in Photoshop but it had no affect.
I purchased a template website that has a flash banner which rotates three photos.I was able to get my own photos into the flash but I don't know how to have each photo be a different hyper link.Also the flash template has a next and previous button to cycle through the photos but I would like the photos to move automatically but again don't know how to do that.

I have the text portion complete and now want to add some of my own pictures into a slide show or gallery on a serperate page linked to my site. Is there a way to do so. have little experience using them. With this template there was few fonts included in separate folder (I had to install them to view swf and edit fla correctly) after all my mods done I published it to swf file and opened local file with browser, everything was working perfectly at this moment. Does anyone know if there is some way to package the app with air? I want to make it as easy as possible for people to run the app. Users will be prompted to download air and I can put this information on the apps page on android market but if there is some way to iclude this in the apk I'd love to know. I decided to take matters into my own hands and download the FlashResources.dll file from google and download it. I put it into me system32 file and ran ' regsvr32 flashresources.dll ' but then it said "DllRegisterServer entry point not found".

View 1 RepliesI am interested in developing AIR apps for Android tablets (Xoom, Transformer, Playbook, Iconia, Galaxy Tab, et cetera). I expect to encounter different pixel densities ("information densities" as the Flash documentation says).
The different densities on the screens between tablets creates a situation in which objects on the screen can have very different sizes and appearances even if the screen resolutions are identical.
The Android developer information from Google recommends creating different layouts and providing different graphic assets for different densities.
I don't see a way to do this in Flash.
The marketing material I initially saw on Flash Pro 5.5 seemed to suggest that Flash Pro 5.5 supports multiple screens across devices (there was a big ampersand in the advertisement).
Does Flash Pro 5.5 address the variations in screen densities for Android tablets? If so, what does it require the developer to do in order to achieve this? (Point me to specific documentation if possible.)
