Professional :: Flash Template Modifications For Character Font?

When the files are downloaded to your computer there are several file folders included. Some are for pictures and there is HTML as well as the SWF files and the INDEX. In very short order I determined that you could simply replace there pictures with your pictures and even change the text on the buttons as well as the body of the site. It seemed very painless. We are now down to just one issue that I cannot figure out. On the main page there is a place on the page for the company name. I went into the HTML and changed that which worked fine.
My issue is that she already has a predefined font for her company. It is Trajan Pro. I cannot find anything in the HTML that has to do with the font.However there is a folder included in the download which is entitled "fonts". Within that folder is the various fonts used in the website. how I can change the font that is being used?
PS -- There is a folder full of Photoshop images which are basically the pages of the site. They have many layers. I tried to change the company name and font in Photoshop but it had no affect.

I have an animation of a blue ball falling from the top of the screen, bouncing off the bottom and exiting through the top. This animation "Bounce" is an action all "Ball" objects can perform. How do I apply this animation to other "Ball" objects? I thought of making a second layer (the skin of the ball object) that follows the first layer animation.
I am asking because I have an animation of a blank character performing actions, i'd like to be able to design and decorate several characters for my animation that can perform the animations of the blank character (template). My game randomly designs different faces/clothing for these character objects, but i'm not sure how to animate them based on an already made animation.

In my application I'm using a custom embedded font for English (Helvetica New) which does not contain characters (glyphs) for chinese unicode range. In the application, wherver chinese characters are avaiable they are not displayed (suppressed) since they are missing in the custom embedded font. How can I make the flash player to use a fallback system font for the missing characters? And the fallback should be for the missing characters alone. For the Engligh characters it should use the embedded font.

I have a project coming up where I'll be rendering text paths on a circle; the text has to be dynamic, so I can't just bring in a precomputed set from illustrator. Now, laying text on a circle ought not be too hard, I'll do it per character with per character rotation. The trouble is, I can't seem to figure out how to get per-character advance from flash's font engine. It's 99% probable that I'm just overlooking something obvious. But as far as I can tell, the only way to get flash font metrics is via flash.text.engine.FontMetrics which ostensibly is per-font, not per-character.
A fallback that I'm not looking forward to implementing is pre-computing per-char advance on my own ( since this project will be using embedded fonts known in advance ). I've got ObjC code lying around for generating glyph maps for opengl, so I could generate that data offline and make it available to my flash code ( probably as static constants or some malarkey ).

This is a rather advanced problem but apparently I'm not the only one having it.So far I've been using external font loading in all my projects. A Tahoma.swf with a Tahoma Font library item and basically two lines of code:ActionScript Code:import flash.text.Font;Font.registerFont(TahomaSmooth);As soon as I load the font in my application it's ready for use. This is Jesse Freeman's method, in case it looks familiar.The problem is Flash CS4 doesn't embed polish fonts. And clients dnt lke t read tet that hs mssng chrcters. Unfortunately for anyone who isn't english Adobe didn't forsee that people might actually want to specify the character set when embeding Fonts. This strikes me as odd, as supposedly the whole font was supposed to be imported, at least that's how it originally worked, AFAIK.

If you make multiple flash files from the same template and then edit that template, will all those files have those same changes? If not, is there a way to make the same change on multiple files at once? Basically the same idea as linking HTML files to a single CSS file...

i am new to Flash and am currently working with an XML based flash template. When i open the .fla file, none of the text or images show up. I understand this is b/c i have to edit the xml file in dreamweaver. However that is a very complicated way of doing it b/c then i have to keep going back and forth between several programs and saving, and updating, and never getting of "live view" of the chages i am making. My question is: Is there really no way for me to edit the whole xml flash template in Flash CS5? Meaning is there some sort of way to import or manipulate the files so that i can edit the text and images directly in flash pro cs5 and not having to keep going into dreamweaver?

I purchased a premade Flash template last night that is almost perfect for what I need right out of the box.The template is divided into 2 sections, the top being the flash portion and the bottom HTML editable The problem I am running into is editing the the buttons. When I dbl click the menu icons it just keeps jumping back and forth between layers, never allowing me the chance to alter the text.I can upload the SWF file if that would help.

On the About Us and Services pages there is a link to open up a pop up box. This works fine but for some reason if I change the text in one section, for instance the "our team" pop up box text the pop up box on the Services page "read more" and "paranormal info" box has the same text displayed.I can't seem to find where to change the text for each box individually. WTH - is it supposed to be this difficult to manipulate a template or am I stupid???
Go into project explorer and can't see much AS so how the hwll are they getting the images and text into the flash swf. By the html??? I don't think so.

I am new to Flash and was trying to start a website for my photography business. I have an up and running version of Flash Pro CS4 with all updates. I purchased a full flash template from [URL] hoping to just open the .fla file and go to work editing. No such luck. When I click on the main.fla file, all the components seem to load in the library, however in the timeline, I only show like 9 random layers. When I run the timeline, all I get is a bunch of lines, squares, etc running on and off the stage. When I click "publish" the layers and components run fine with all the default content. The template came in a ZIP file and after extracting, I get the usual files, .fla, .html, .XML, .SWA, etc. All the components seem to be in the .fla file. What am I missing? I know there should be more layers in the timeline, but I cant find them. My troubleshooting has been to confirm that the template is good with CS4 and ActionScript 3.0. I've tried different settings to include changing the pixel size, but nothing.

I purchased a template website that has a flash banner which rotates three photos.I was able to get my own photos into the flash but I don't know how to have each photo be a different hyper link.Also the flash template has a next and previous button to cycle through the photos but I would like the photos to move automatically but again don't know how to do that.

I have a website that I created using a flash template from Hostgator. I have the text portion complete and now want to add some of my own pictures into a slide show or gallery on a serperate page linked to my site. Is there a way to do so. have little experience using them. I thought I could insert the slide show directly into the template like an HTML page.My site is live now and it will give you a better understanding of what I want because I am pretty ignorant when trying to describe issues that I have.My goal would be to have a seperate page not linked to the bones buttons on the top, just a page that I have in my public html folder that are hyper linked to words in the website itself

I have created a class which will use an embedded font to dynamically generate a bitmap font at run-time. So far it works well except that I have a minor issue with character spacing.
In the image below the first line is an actual TextField and the second has been rendered using the generated bitmap font.
If you look at the word 'fox' or the 'ed' of the word 'jumped' you can see that the letter spacing looks a little bit odd.
Are there any alternatives to the TextLineMetrics class which will give me more accurate character metrics?

By chance I have eventually found the solution :
The first problem was the antiAliasType property which was set to AntiAliasType.ADVANCED. Although it produces higher quality text it also causes TextLineMetrics to return incorrect widths for characters.
The second was that it had to also be rounded up (using Math.ceil) to the nearest pixel and not down.

I have a text field (old-style, non-TLF) with the following HTML text:[code].....
The font Optima is embedded, and I've selected embed all glyphs.What I'm getting rendered to the screen is as the image below, with a random i + umlaut character in place of the bullet.Is this a problem with Flash or is the font file somehow missing the bullet character, and does anyone know how I can fix this issue, preferably without having to move across to TLF text.?

I am trying to delete some files from a flash template I purchased, when I open the .fla file in flash and go into the library, I would like to delete the contact box and the mp3 player, when I locate those files in the library and delete the files, the website no longer opens up (it will not work when I delete those files from the library)?

I downloaded a XML based website flash template and made some modifications to it. With this template there was few fonts included in separate folder (I had to install them to view swf and edit fla correctly) after all my mods done I published it to swf file and opened local file with browser, everything was working perfectly at this moment. Then I asked my friend if it could upload it on his server to check if this website looks the same on the web. I noticed that text (which is written with custom font that was included) is either missing or misplaced

I bought a Flash 8 template for one of my customers. pulling teeth. I make changes bymodifying a .txt file and I observe by clicking index.html. The expressions in the .txt file look like: &menu1=Home Page &menu2=About Us etc...
I don't recognize the language. I have no idea what I am working with. I have CS3 so I have Flash CS3. I have FTPed what I have and the URL I feel like I am out of my element.

it has interactive picture gallery where you roll over with the mouse and click on the desired photo to see it on bigger size. I have a movie clip which has several objects including text adjusted nicely. This is like a template type movie clip which I need to use it on around 15 layers with some modifications (Like text, images, calendar etc.). And I called it a "GenericPanel_mc".To use it in another layers, I am just duplicating that "GenericPanel_mc" to say, Home_mc, Project1_mc, Project2_mc, ..........Project15_mc.... so on.But when I tried to change the Header Text of Home, It changes the header text of all my Projects.

I have a strange issue where a dynamic text field will not show a bold version of a font (Gerstner BQ) if the regular version is on the stage in a static text field.Remove the static text field and the dynamic text field displays the bold font correctlyI have created a test FLA to reproduce this and by turning the layer with the static text field on and off (Publish settings -> Flash -> include hidden layers [unchecked]), the issue is quite clearhis issue is so big for me that I have had to abandon a project in CS5 and start again in CS4 just to work around this.

I need to present chemical formulas with subscripts and superscripts in a dynamic text box. To do this, I've downloaded and embedded the GG Subscript and GG Superscript fonts, created a dynamic text box with Arial as the font, and added ActionScript code to change the font when I need subscripts and superscripts. the following is a simplified version of my code.

I get a compiler error 1119 Access of possibly undefined property html through a reference with static flash.text:TextField. The text box is a dynamic text box, not static, so I'm puzzled.I don't get this error with the GG Subscript code above.

I will inlcude here to code i used and a zipped folder containing all the files of my mp3 player. What i would like to do, (i am not an actionscript expert and did this following a tutorial) is to include a download button for the track which is being listened, be able to insert the playlist 'track buttons' inside the scrollpane on the stage, and sort an annoying bug which makes the music form the player continue even when i leave the section of the site where its in, keeping the music in the background running and starting a new track ontop every time i renter the section where the player is placed.

I'm porting in an .flv to Flash for the first time. I created the .flv from an .MP4 using Media Encoder CS5, and then opened a new Actionscript 3 .fla in Flash Professional CS5, clicked File > Import > Import Video. Then selected 'Load external video with playback component'. Everything seems to have imported fine, but when I publish the SWF and import it via Dreamweaver CS5 and preview the page, the video is there, but the controls are not. There's just a white box where the controls should be. Also, the video is out of sync with the audio, which I believe is a problem with Media Encoder, not Flash.

I have been useing fonts like A.C.M.E secret agent, Crashlanding, Feast of flesh, mouth breather and so on.When i export the project all the text becomes Times new roman on other computers but mine. Or let me re phrase that to make sure there is no confusion.When the project is viewed on my computer the font looks fine but when viewed on any other computer the font is Times new roman and the sizes are completely messed up.
